My favorite thrift store in the area!! I miss when they did $1 clearance tags and hate that the store is constantly being shifted around (please bring back the plus size section!!) but the deals are good. I go on Mondays since I'm a healthcare worker, Wednesdays when it's 50% off most tags for everyone, and on Thursdays since I'm a student. Tuesday there is a discount for seniors. I've found lululemon and other brand name clothes, home decor, and kitchen items here. The staff are always friendly at this location and there's lots of parking. read more

The prices are way out of control. These items are donated, they get them for free and while I understand the overhead has increased, pricing a used pair of jeans for 15.99 (lowest I found was 9.99) is not remotely reasonable. I have found items from the dollar store (shower hooks) priced at 2.99. Plates and cups at other thrift stores are one price, at Community Aid the prices vary and are usually 3.99 and up. For the color of the week, items used to be $1 now they are 75% off of the ticketed price. It's a shame when people in need can't afford to shop at thrift stores anymore. read more

The store is spacious and convenient. Huge variety, especially plus sizes. Quality is superior to local charitable thrift stores. And there is a selection of non apparel items. I love this store! read more

2nd time this issue has happened with understaffing. senior day (very busy) manager behind counter helping the ONLY cashier rectify a mistake. 6 people in line and the person in front of me has 2 STUFFED FULL carts. more folks headed to get in line. manager fixes mistake. manager walks away. how is that for customer service? put down my items and walked out. their prices have gone up again as well as losing different sale incentives somewhat recently. i will still continue to go however maybe management can step up and staff correctly with more than one clerk? this is a new issue, it never used to happen. read more

What can I say about Community Aid that other Yelpers haven't said already? CA sets the bar pretty high for thrift store standards and this location was no exception. It was my first and only visit thus far but I'm hoping to get back sooner rather than later. This CA store (as the others) are clean, well lit, organized, and sorted well. This location was slightly smaller than others I've been to, but still carry anything and everything you could possibly be looking for. Immediately inside you'll find freshly sanitized carts and a message board with their discounts and savings for that day. They do change daily so make sure you check it out. While clothing is sorted to perfection because there's just so much of it you will need to allow yourself extra time. This location had a great variety of better condition toys and I was able to score this die cast (heavy) hot rod model for a mere $5.99! (see pic) My only gripe is that lately I've felt that CA had raised their prices on clothing and new with tag items. Sometimes the new items are priced higher than they would be new. Especially when it comes to lesser quality brands like Joe Boxer. They should take branding into consideration, otherwise CA is up there as one of my favorite thrift chains. read more

Looks promising from the outside-As i rolled up on this thrift shop i was already singing popping tags and a tad bit giddy- however my demeanor changed once inside. Freaking snobby shoppers trying to block my view--overpriced junk- I have thrown out way better shizzle than they have on their shelves. I will say the clothing is spaciously displayed and seems organized but it was all worn out and drabby. I think I'll just skip it from here on out and leave those crappy treasures for other shoppers. read more

Fabulous HUGE establishment filled with amazing finds & treasures. Very neatly attended too. Clean as a whistle!! The employees were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Since it is enormous they didn't seemed phased in the least to help me locate specific areas. Fitting rooms were well tended too also! Great find! read more

Place is clean and organized. VHS has been slimmed down to Disney Clamshells but I did find 2 of 4 of the McDonalds Batman Forever Glasses so I'll call this place a win! read more

I am a thrifter at heart especially now that I am a single mom due to unfortunate events. The world is tough right now and finding even a bargain at a thrift store seems damn near IMPOSSIBLE these days. I drop my mom off in Lewisburg for work and I roam around Harrisburg, Lancaster, Camp Hill, etc. I accidentally stumbled upon this massive beauty one night on the highway heading home. My son is also a thrifter too lol he loves himself a good toy even if it doesn't work, it's a challenge for him and it keeps him out of his tablet or tv! I knew I HAD to take a peak the next time I was able. When I entered right away I was greeted by genuine smiles and happy employees for the most part. There was a wonderful selection of ALL categories of clothing, and shoes! They had a beautiful pair of MK shiny diamond shoes looked brand new priced for maybe 20$ which MK is FAR from a 20$ product regardless of the brand name. They keep the store clean, they are patient with toddlers and melt downs, they helped me try and calm my toddler by interacting with him vs. rolling their eyes and acting like children are such a bother. I really love shopping there especially because I have my son with me 24/7. I feel comfortable, and we feel safe and judged by none. So thank you to the employees who smiled even when it got a bit stressful. Your kindness makes a world of difference. They have a ton of everything you'll need I can promise that! You won't be disappointed by choices or prices. read more

Every time I'm in Lancaster I have to come here! They always have sales for $1 so make sure to look by the door which tag color it is for that week! I'm always there like minimum 2 hours. Last time I I even scored an LV bag!! So great and really good finds. read more

May sound like a joke but the first thing that struck me was that it didn't smell like a Salvation Army or a Goodwill (you know the smell !!!) ... it actually smelt nice. The store was incredibly neat and spacious. There was a pretty large selection of CD's (always my first priority) and everything was priced to move. I bought an oil painting for $11. I kinda liked it, I kept looking at it, wasn't sure - then it hit me "It's $11 !!!! take it home" - I'm glad I did, I really like it ... but most other places would have priced it WELL over that and I wouldn't have taken a chance. read more

I am quite the scavenger by jumping in dumpsters look for whatever loot possible to donate or sell. This is the place to drop your donations and clothing that you no longer have use for. Well sorted display of clothes, furniture, electronics, and novels. You can't bargain in this place so don't even try. FRIENDLY STAFF! I've met the crew in the back of the house doing their thing. Came in to shop for my baby girl since money is so tight. I am medically exempt from masking because of having CS syndrome. They allowed me to shop for 45 minutes well knowing I did not have a mask. I got in line to pay and the cashier loudly and rudely told me that I can not purchase my things without a mask. She ask no questions regarding my health, and very purposefully humiliated me for not wearing one. I'm already dying, but until that day you won't see a dime of my hard earned money! read more

Used to be the best store now they start tricking people changing tag every week so people get confused and don't know which one is 50 half most of the item are in retail prices they will exclude few tag from discount and put the same excluded tag on each and everything i understand it's nonprofit but the people go there they are also on budget trying find used and cheap clothes for their families and try provide food but since last month they started putting very very high prices tag and they will also exclude from discount and change every other so don't have a idea which is affordable for them 85 percent don't read a reading board they have put it on the front and if some still read they put it 50 half on Wednesday for everyone but they some more papers down there thats some tags are excluded from discounts I have an asked one of the employee she said even we are confused what to tell to customer which one is discounted on Wednesday they very frustrated by that new rules and high price in community aid which provide clothes to low incom and retired senior citizens read more
