I ultimately had to step in and write a more elegant, flowing obituary myself and ask that it be used instead. Unknowingly, they misspelled my son's name on both the obituary and the Christmas card they sent that year. While the card itself was likely meant as a kind gesture, I didn't need to be reminded of my grief that way. A simple, accurate acknowledgment on their website would have been more appropriate. The urn my son chose was perfect and truly appreciated. However, I was uncomfortable that they cut her fur to give to us prior to cremation. While their heart was in the right place, it wasn't something we wanted or were emotionally prepared for. This is deeply sensitive work that requires exceptional attention to detail and emotional awareness. While there were thoughtful elements, the overall experience fell short at a time when care, precision, and understanding mattered most.
