There's a reason we've gone back: Their skilled nursing section for short-term rehab is on par with other local centers PLUS their physical therapists and equipment are top-notch. If you read a bunch of reviews, please consider that skilled nursing is a type of facility that will AUTOMATICALLY get bad reviews. No one wants to be there, right? It's not an Airbnb. There are clients with widely varying needs, some more urgent. Everyone seems to want everything as if they are the only patient, but staff can only handle one patient at a time...no matter what facility. Take a look. No facility gets many 5 stars with no 1 or 2 stars. Understand short-term rehab is in many regards what you make of it. If you stubbornly refuse to get out of bed, you're going to get bedsores. Yes, even at home. Particularly with the elderly who have fragile skin. There's something called "personal responsibility" that the client and their family need to employ. Short-term rehab is not a place to dump your loved one and ignore them. I didn't. My mom didn't. We were there daily and made sure things were good. Overall, they were. As such we were on a friendly and first name basis with Tim, Leo, Lindsey, Barbara and Jackie, etc. They were always responsive to our needs and answered our questions. Organized. Smart. Hard-working. Communicated perfectly. Your loved one is there because you cannot do at home what they can at a skilled-nursing short-term rehab. They have people who can lift your heavy loved one out of bed, get them showered and dressed, take their meds, and get them to their PT sessions. Plus, they have to deal with all kinds of personality issues of grumpy old people in pain who are thankless, miserable folk. 24/7. They're in pain and don't want to be there. Forgivable. For people with kindness and gratitude, Hawthorne was wonderful. At least they were to us. True, the food is average institutional food designed to meet many needs. Sometimes we brought him Chick-fil-A or McDonalds because he wanted it instead. That's okay. Not against any rules. It is not perfect, call buttons need to be faster, but realism says that if the call response was faster, there are people who abuse it, calling every 5 seconds. A few more staff would be nice, but realistically speaking, vetting staff for a thankless job is a complicated process. It was clean and had activities and a beautiful courtyard where we sat and enjoyed picnic lunches with my dad. My grandkids even came to have lunch there. All this to say, believe the other reviews or believe me. Or both. Short-term rehab is largely what you make of it.

I love the fact that there is Dr. medical association for the spa. Plenty of parking along the location's perimeter. Pleasant staff, well trained, beautiful waiting room with cold drinks, treats, etc. Only advice, bring something to amuse yourself as wait time for appointments can run long. It would be nice if someone was proactive to call/text in advance to advise when this is the case. There are certainly plenty of emails, texts to inform of appointments but it stops with that.. Some of us work too and allocate so much time for appointments and not excessive waiting time. I still go there and have been very pleased with services.

So I'm really questioning the placement and the quality of the Botox and whatever they mix it with. She also injected my left temple area, which I've never had done before, and I have been sore for three weeks. Kinda worried about that. It was my first time there , and I also didn't like that they didn't book a two week appointment to come back to check the initial work- I had to ask for that appointment. I went back after two weeks, and she injected me again, with more units, and it's been over three weeks and there's no change. Just me being picky / I didn't care for the two girls at the front desk, and every time I call there, nobody answers the phone and it goes to the main line of the dermatologist office , and then I'm stuck with somebody in a call-center that has no idea what's going on. In the past my experience with Botox , if it's not done correctly, the first time- it wasn't done correctly. And to pay money and not be happy and see very minimal results, really pisses me off. I would not recommend this place.

Our mother was at this facility for over a year. Both my siblings enjoyed the care my mother…read morereceived, especially as she can be a little much on a good day. The staff was good-natured and helped our mother (and my siblings) through a few room moves within the facility because she is a little extra. She was labeled "memory care" at the time she was released from the rehabilitation center, so she wound up in Morningside House as a memory care resident, which is a higher level of care. Our mother was originally in Independent Living when she started falling a lot. She hid it from my siblings because she didn't want to wind up in a nursing home (between the two of them, they saw her more than twice a week, drove her to doctor appointments, brought supplies to her, etc.). Our mom is pretty crafty at hiding things. One day, she fell and couldn't get up, and the facility she was living in at the time found her the next day on the bathroom floor, covered in the bruises she was trying to hide. (For those who don't know, Independent Living facilities check on their residents daily to ensure they are ok.) The hospital diagnosed her heart as only working at 50% and said it was causing the fainting and falls she had been having. Our mother went to rehab, then to Morningside House. Morningside helped to readjust her medications and wean her off some Godforsaken prescription that was causing her appearance of dementia, allowing her to be much more cognizant of her surroundings. The woman is 98 years old, so her memory isn't spectacular, but old-age memory and dementia (not existing in reality) are two incredibly different things and require a completely different level of care. Anyone who has had to place their parent in memory care knows it is incredibly expensive these days, so this was one of the reasons for the five-star review. They took good care of our mother and helped her get to a place of more dignity than she came in with. Was everything perfect? No. People should understand that doctors are fleeing Florida, and they have been for the last 2-3 years. During COVID, the real estate market went crazy with investors, and housing doubled in price. Florida is well known for having very low wages, and the 100% increase in housing prices has made trying to find an affordable place to live for freshly minted doctors with student loans impossible. Housing loans get cancelled at the last minute for almost any reason, making it impossible to buy a house (you lose your deposit if you don't have a contingency for the mortgage falling through). Property insurance has doubled and, in some cases, tripled (if you can even find a company to write the policy). Even with the real estate market currently falling in Florida, the price of property insurance alone is prohibitive. That was a lot of information to say this. The only problem my siblings ever had was when our mother would cut herself (her physical skin is thin - all she has to do is scratch herself too hard). They would have to wait for a wound care specialist to come clean it and put a band-aid on it. Apparently, the wound care specialist was not in the same building as the memory care unit, so the amount of time they actually appeared to attend to the wound varied. I don't know if this was a staffing problem, as nursing homes have strict rules about who can administer what type of care (you have to be certified or incur fines). As I said before, people can't afford to live in Florida, so staffing can be a bit of a problem, but there was always some staff member available to our mother when she pressed the button. This facility was very good for our mother. They had a price increase for 2026, and so my siblings moved her to a different facility, but they were happy with the staff who took daily care of our mother while she was there.

If I could award Zero stars I would. I would not send my worst enemy here. Their idea of helping my…read morehusband was to give him multiple powerful medications daily and not offer enough food. When he was brought to the facility he was extremely mobil and could speak. After one month he was having trouble walking, took numerous falls, and was no longer able to talk and make sense. He began his stay as a strong athletic and agile person, but with meager and unappetizing amounts of food offered he lost 25 pounds in the first month and could no longer speak intelligently. He was weak and was often taking falls. He died there after 10 months on January 27, 2025. I agree with the review written by Heather C. submitted Dec 30,2024. Staff was negligent on cleanliness and not adequate in number to handle the memory care patients with compassion.

Forgive me in advance for the length of this review, too many good things to share…read more If I could give Angelina more than five stars, I would. I began my prenatal care with her at 12 weeks in the spring of 2025, and from our very first appointment, I knew I had found someone truly special. This was my third baby, my second VBAC at home, and my first baby born in Florida, so I came into this pregnancy with previous birth experiences--but Angelina still taught me so much and elevated every part of the journey. Through every visit, every emotion, every question, and every prenatal challenge, she was endlessly kind, compassionate, and encouraging. She never once made me feel rushed or unheard. She took the time to listen, to problem-solve, and to make sure I felt confident and supported every step of the way. Angelina is an incredible wealth of knowledge--not only about pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and babies, but also homeopathy, non-toxic living, and natural wellness. No matter what came up, she always had thoughtful guidance and practical solutions. She helped me feel mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared not only for birth, but also for the fourth trimester. She was so personable and welcoming, not just with me, but with my two older children as well. She truly became part of our family's journey. She even helped me choose my baby's name, which is something I'll always treasure. A few months ago, thanks to her expert care and unwavering support, I had the most dreamy, physiological water birth at home on my baby's due date. It was everything I had hoped for and more, with no complications. It was, without question, my favorite birth experience, and it is one I will cherish for the rest of my life. One of the things I appreciated most was how she prepared my entire family for postpartum. She encouraged me to spend two full weeks in bed bonding with my new baby and healing, and because she came to our home for multiple postpartum visits, neither my baby nor I had to leave the house for our required checkups. That level of care was priceless and allowed us to settle into life with our newest little one in such a peaceful, supported way. Even beyond pregnancy and birth, Angelina has continued to be an incredible resource and encouragement. She has helped me become a better mother, and I know I will continue to carry her wisdom with me for years to come. She has truly been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I was genuinely heartbroken when it was time for my final appointment because saying goodbye felt like saying goodbye to a dear friend. In fact, she has me seriously contemplating a fourth baby--even though we were absolutely convinced our third would be our last! If you're looking for a midwife who is exceptionally knowledgeable, deeply compassionate, incredibly skilled, and wholeheartedly invested in you and your family, I cannot recommend Angelina highly enough. Choosing her was one of the very best decisions I've ever made.

She cares so much about her clients and does a great job understanding what mom wants for their birth and helps them get there! Christine is very hands-off which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for us it was exactly what we were looking for. I saw Christine for all of my prenatal care, we had the usual visit every four weeks and then as we got closer to the due date every two weeks and then every week. Visits were usually at her home office, certain visits were at my home (1st visit, 36week visit...) and if we had a scheduling issue it usually ended up with her coming to my home. The visits were short, which was fine for us. Christine always included our toddler in the visits for as much as she wanted to be included (letting her listen to baby's heartbeat or take mamas blood pressure). Christine did often run late, which was okay for us but I know that could be an issue for some.
