This is a review on behalf of my mother-in-law Santa Barraza who is domiciled Kingsville Texas and when I heard she had local plumbers show up several times and NOT solve her plumbing issues, I had to recommend the plumber we use and recommend Compass Plumbing a.k.a. Joshua Parker. Title: The Fifth Time Was the Charm--Joshua Parker Finally Solved What Others Couldn't. When you're a septuagenarian widow managing a ranch in Kingsville on your own, you learn to be patient. But after four visits from a local plumber who couldn't resolve my issues, my patience was wearing thin. Then Joshua Parker from Compass Plumbing arrived. Project A - Faucet Replacement: My kitchen faucets were so clogged they were nearly unusable. Joshua assessed the situation and replaced them efficiently. But he didn't stop there--he noticed the cabinetry supporting my basin was deteriorating and proactively replaced that too. He saw the bigger picture and addressed it without upselling, just solving. Unrelated Project - Backyard Leak: A leak had developed in my backyard, separate from the interior work. Joshua tackled that project as well with the same diligence. What Set Him Apart: Punctuality: He arrived when he said he would. Every time. That's rare in the trades, especially for rural properties. Professionalism: He was respectful of my home, my time, and my questions. He explained what he was doing in language I could understand without talking down to me. Fair Pricing: He charged fairly for his solutions. No hidden fees, no inflated rural-property surcharges. The Bottom Line: My plumbing is finally functioning, and I have peace of mind. I'm a highly educated woman and a professional artist--I don't give praise lightly. Joshua Parker has earned it. I've already decided to have him come out to my art gallery in town for future work. Recommendation: Whether you're in a rural setting like Kingsville or an urban area, I would not hesitate to recommend his services. These guys are amazing. I've had leaks for over a year and flooding. Also had 5 or 6 guys who said they were plumbers try to fix the problems and they just made it worse. I have been retired for 6 years and now require outside help in my home repairs. I found one of my waterlines under my house was leaking and had to get it fixed. Our hot water heater went out and we have a warranty company, American Home Shield, so they sent out All Points Plumbing. The quote we received was nearly $800 in out of pocket expenses. That's on top of the hot water heater and labor the warranty company was going to pay them. I called Joshua to see if what All Points wanted to charge me was accurate. Of course it wasn't. Not only did he quote me a reasonable price, he also spoke to the warranty company to help me get a better reimbursement. FINAL UPDATE - Since Josh and his wife won't leave us alone, scroll down to view the $500 invoice they sent us when we tried to schedule a final plumbing inspection...after we told him to leave us alone!  When we attempted to schedule a final inspection, either Josh or his wife canceled it - TWICE. Then his wife sent a text saying they would only allow the plumbing inspection to proceed if I take down this review. The next contact from either of them will result in a complaint to the state plumbing board and Better Business Bureau. OUR STORY: I only gave Compass Plumbing and Josh one star because I had to. We hired Compass Plumbing to help with a permitted bathroom addition. When splitting off the hot water line to bring hot water to the new addition, Josh cut into the cold water line -- AFTER my husband asked, "Are you sure that's the hot water you're cutting into?" Then when he turned the water back on there was an air gap in the line because Josh didn't bleed it so we had no water pressure (which was fine before the plumber turned the water off); when my husband asked if this could be the reason the water pressure was diminished, he said it wasn't because of anything he had done and walked off the job in a huff. After he left, we bled the line ourselves and the water pressure went back to normal. On more than one occasion my husband left work to meet Josh -- NONE of these were emergency calls, these were all scheduled in advance -- and had to wait more than an hour, without a phone call or text. The last time he was late (last Friday, by almost 1.5 hours, no phone call or text), his excuse was that he had walked off of a DIFFERENT job the day before and had to try to make things right with that customer (at the expense of OUR time, of course). My husband (and not the plumber) scheduled and was present for all of the plumbing inspections. Josh installed water lines too close together for angle stops to be put on, so my husband had to fix them; Josh installed copper pipe using plastic clips meant for plastic water lines to hold them in place instead of brass fittings, which had to be fixed by my husband; we didn't even bother to tell Josh the spigot outside has leaked since he installed it because we were afraid he'd quit in the middle of the job! Josh installed a shower valve and handle, and the water only gets warm. When this was reported to Josh, he said the problem was with the valve that WE bought and not with his install (it wasn't, he didn't check to see if it was adjusted correctly before putting on the handle and caulking the whole thing). He accused us of not paying him (we did, my husband made multiple attempts to pay him and Josh said not to worry about it each time until paid). After we paid him for this last disaster, he continued to text my husband until he had to block him. Josh is not used to people questioning his work and when confronted about his multiple mistakes he stormed off the job instead of taking accountability. Do not use. read more

Such excellent response time and very honest. We have used Compass twice. Once during the holidays when we had a ton of family visiting and staying with us from out of town, and our toilets stopped flushing. They came out right away and unclogged the plumbing after hours. Then a few months later a similar issue occurred. They came out, cleaned the line out and scoped the line with a camera. In the end they helped us figure out an issue we were having with our septic and enabled us to ultimately get that fixed too. I would use them again in a heartbeat!! read more

Josh explained everything that needed to be done and explained the entire process in great detail, as well as some cheaper options . He explained that the Hydro jet cleaning of the pipe would be the best way to permanent remove the clog. He has done work at my house before and was pleased with the results, that's why he was the first person that came to mind in this situation. The Plumber broke a sprinkler line when installing a gas line and REFUSED to fix it. Very rude.

This individual connected new gas lines with multiple leaks, smell of gas was noticeable, and he wanted to leave it that way until tomorrow. Additionally, he was disrespectful, rude, and ugly to us while citing facts that were incorrect (like none of the work we had done before was permitted -- when in fact, ALL OF IT WAS PERMITTED). I kicked him off our property. He behaved unprofessionally, and worse, UNSAFELY, and insulted us. Slamming tools around, etc. Watch out for this guy. read more

They responded 1x via Google messenger to me. Called but mailbox was full. Called next day n spoke to a man that sent a text for me to forward my address to. No response in any manner for 3 days, then an apology for "forgetting" about me. Interesting note: on Sat a man said opening tomorrow after 8 am. I responded sun or mon afternoon. Crickets. On Sunday I called again n spoke to a man who stated Monday calendar isn't set, but would be by between 1-4 pm. Crickets. 3 days later that aforementioned text apology. If I can't trust them to simply set an appt or call timely, then WHY IN EARTH would I trust them to do my plumbing? Being waterless is traumatic. Having a plumber mess u up mentally adds insult to injury. I waited, then just called a different plumber who actually SET AN APPOINTMENT. IM FURIOUS WITH COMPASS PLUMBING! read more
