if i could leave 0 stars i would. this janky ass place. saturday night at 11pm my tire blew while driving on I-95. i had my brothers come and see if they could change it but unfortunately no tire shop is open that late so we had to leave it in the emergency shoulder lane but i left a shirt in the window making it known the vehicle is not abandoned and i will return first thing in the morning to change the tire. well, come 6am SUNDAY morning my dad drives past to make sure everything was ok and sees the tow company taking the vehicle. he pulls over to let them know the vehicle has a owner who's on the way as they speak but they still took it.understandable, it's a hazard so i got that they gave him a card and told him to call to see how much it'll be to have the car released. we then 3way the call and they gave us two quotes, they said if we pick it up Sunday since the lot is closed they would charge a $175 gate fee to have someone open the gates on the weekend ON TOP of $600 for a 6 mile tow just because the state police called for the tow. They also charged $75 for storage fee. so $850 total to pick it up sunday. However if we wait until today (Monday) we can pick it up without the gate fee making the total $675. WELL when i got there first thing in the morning the person at the desk handed me a invoice saying that id owe $800 to release my car which did not make any sense especially considering i just spoke with someone and had a price breakdown the day my car was picked up. after going back and forth and him saying there's nothing he can do bc he doesn't know who i spoke with. i ended up paying $725 and for 2 DAYS when in reality my car was only there for a day. picked up SUNDAY MORNING @6am and RELEASED MONDAY MORNING @10am...ONE DAY NOT TWO. i've never went out my way to write a review on anything bc i really don't be gaf but $800 is crazy. this place is fucking ridiculous read more

You can improved by stop lying and take responsibility of what your employees do instead of denying it, telling the customer. Instead you jumped in your little feelings and took a knee jerk reaction. A real professional would have not demonstrated this behavior pattern. I know your type. You ascribe to bullying but it's truly a weak characteristic trait. 1st lie - I didn't have any liquid to explode in my vehicle. Ask and not accuse. Why would I bring damage to my own vehicle, I have an auto immune and respiratory health condition. Make it make sense... 2nd lie - I didn't send you pics, the bodyshop did trying to work with you. You're so busy focusing on a negative defensive response. Being mean and seeking to cover up your lack of accountability and taking responsibility. Instead because of my post on Google review, it's after the fact you offer to "help" pay for the damages and infestation of ants when in fact you should offer to cover the full cost associated. Just utter most ridiculous! I'll continue to pray for a heart and character change for you as a business owner. I'm a business owner as well. I would never shy away from a matter. Instead I seek to find a mutually agreed upon resolution especially, if I have property in my possession and I'm in the business line of towing that makes me responsible as your lot is supposedly be a secure lot. Used them twice this week... on Monday, the original arrival time was predicted to be 2.5 hours, but came in less than an hour. Driver knew his job, and was friendly and helpful. Thursday, the truck arrived when scheduled, different driver, but again knowledgeable and friendly. Great tow company. Highly recommend. read more

My truck was towed when I had a medical issue while driving on I-95. They charged $375 for a 6 mile tow just because the state police called for the tow. They also charged $75 for storage fee. If you pay with card, you also pay the credit card fee which is standard with most businesses. In total I had to pay $472.50 to get my truck. They claim that they don't set the $375 fee if state police called, and that they don't want to charge that much. Take that as you will, but consider that the money goes to the tow company and not the police agency. read more

I unfortunately locked myself out of my car and requested assistance around 5:00pm. The estimated arrival time was 5:58pm. At 5:50pm my driver calls and says he was never actually assigned to come to my vehicle and that he was still at least 30minutes away. The estimated time was never updated on the app. And when I called to see if they could find a closer driver, the woman who I spoke with said he was the only driver in the area and he had another car before me. Even though he told me he was never even assigned to my car. They are clearly not efficient or reliable. My phone is now dying and because it is dark early by the time he arrives it will be completely dark. Please avoid this company if you care about your safety and efficiency! read more

Prepare to be overcharged. $40 for battery terminals plus $40 labor. These take 5 minutes to do and cost $6 at the parts store. That's the easiest of the inflated charges. Double charged me for the alternator ($120 vs their 320) and fictitious brake line issues. Anothe $200. Brake lines are $20!!! Fluid is the same ! Avoid. Wow. read more

My husband and I would 100% hands down recommend them for your towing needs. After a horrible night of waiting almost 3 hours for another tow company, our insurance company dispatched Compass and within 5 mins I received a call from Dean, the owner letting us know that he had someone on the way within 20 mins. Well within less than 10 mins Billy our tow truck driver was there to get us off the busy 95 North highway. Not only were they quick, they understood the importance of getting us off a busy highway. To top it off Dean also let me and my husband ride in the tow truck to get us home, even with the pandemic and most towing companies not letting you do this- He did! It was super helpful seeing that it was super late and was very hard finding someone to come get us. This type of kindness and professionalism goes a long way. Warranty company sent this towing service after the original first service company broke down in route...seriously. So Dean and one of his employees showed up instead of the other company to take my daughter's car to the dealership. From the start these guys were extremely professional and down to earth. They picked up the car and took it to the dealership. You would think it stopped there. Nope, they took pictures and confirmed the keys were in the night drop and sent me everything. Way above and beyond what I expected. Can't thank these guys enough for making this a painless process. I'm keeping the card and will use this company again. Thanks guys and keep up the good work. My car broke down inside the gated community where my Mom lives. My car needed to be towed back to Fairfax where I live in 98 degree heat. Compass towing came to the rescue within the hour. They alerted me when they started out by phone, then they called when they reached the gate. I didn't have to ask, they just provided a flat bed tow truck. The gentleman who came turned out to be the owner. He took great care to load my car and transport it thru horrible Saturday afternoon traffic from Frederickburg to Fairfax. He checked my car in and called me to let me know when he had arrived. How would I describe Compass Towing? Courteous, Efficient, Friendly, Knowledgable, Honest, Professional. I usually never leave reviews but this was a must! I had such a great experience with Compass Towing. My car broke down on 95 and I was with my kids so I was extremely frustrated, but they came quick to get us off the highway! I had them tow my car back to their shop so they can work on my vehicle and they finished everything within 2 hours! Customer service was amazing! This is hands down the best experience I ever had with a tow truck company and believe me I have had many. Not only did Dean drive to take my call when many others did not. He drove from Fredericksburg to DC, When he arrived the vehicle could not enter due to clearance restrictions. Without hesitation him and his assistant James walked to my car and were able to get it started by hitting the starter with a hammer. Many drivers would have left as soon as they saw they could not clear a garage entrance. They were super pleasant and professional if only everyone could be like these guys the world would be a much better place. read more
