    Texture was good!

Saw the long line at Vegan Festival last weekend and thought must be something really special. Stood in line for over an hour to order and another 20 minutes to get the food. I ordered the 4 wings half bbq and half spicy. I didn't eat the spicy wings, it was too spicy for me. My bf had them and thought they were alright. I had the BBQ ones and they were nothing spectacular. After all, it's slather with store bought BBQ sauce. I like the concept but what I really didn't like was the price. $12.50 for 4 wings. Are you serious? Also, what you get is not what is pictured on their so-called menu. The picture shows it come with celery sticks but you only get 4 wings. Would I give it another try? Yes!! However, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. Definitely would not stand in line for over an hour for it either. There were much better options elsewhere.

Who knew vegan food could be so delicious?! I had it delivered during the stay-at-home orders. It is well seasoned and really tasty. I can't wait to try more!

If you're looking for quality vegan in the sac I highly recommend! Went to a pop up with my family, and they were amazed! Even my dad being the meat lover he is, left satisfied and LOVED the food. Although they were busy, the owner checked on us to make sure everything was good. I've ordered from them before as we and they definitely didn't disappoint. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

I found out about this business while eating at another restaurant. I was so excited to try them. Especially being a black owned business, which I am myself. We attended Sacramento pop up at Device Brewing. When it was our time to order we did not know what was being served that day because there was no menu. When asked advice on which the owner preferred her response was very dry. Customer service was poor. We didn't receive everything that we ordered. The cost was reasonable but the portions were a little small. The food was overly salty. If your try them hopefully your experience is better than ours.

    Fried chik'n bowl for $18.50

Three stars for this place. The concept is great and the tofu chicken is actually really good! Nice, firm crispy texture with lots of flavor. We had the bowl with mash potatoes, Mac and cheese with the tofu chicken on top. It was a minimal portion for $18.50. I honestly thought it was overprice, only because we cook tons of vegan meals at home now and knowing the cost of things (we buy organic and local as much as possible) , plus the time to make certain things, this was definitely pricey. Mac & Cheese was okay. It needed a bit more flavor..pasta was kind of over cooked. Mash potatoes were a bit watered down. On top of that, the food was cold the last time we had it (Gather Event) since it was just in the tin containers with nothing keeping the food warm? Overall, lovely idea and nice execution, just needs to be perfected and maybe reconsider prices. Definitely try their fried chicken (tofu) is you get the chance though!

Crispy Cluck sandwich (sorry for the blurry photo)

This review is long overdue--Compassion Meals has the very best vegan chick'n I've ever had, and this includes our vegan cult classic Butcher's Son. I stopped by their pop up today and ordered the crispy sandwich and it was freshly made and seasoned to perfection!

Love it! My favorite is the chick'n bowl (mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, corn, gravy). I've tried the much-hyped Atlas Monroe chick'n, and although that was great, I'd pick Compassion Meals if given the choice between the two. We've been to too many CM popups to count, and we've had good experiences each time. The lines can be long, so we try to get there close to the opening time. (We see a lot of "regulars" in line each time, which is kind of fun.) We've also taken advantage of the free delivery feature twice, and it went seamlessly both times. The owner and others working at the stand have been nothing but sweet and accommodating, and we love to be able to support another local all-vegan business.

The Ghost Kitchen has a lot of great options, and while it's take out only, there are picnic benches all around if you're looking to eat right away. There are a few parking spots by the ghost kitchen but you're better off parking on the street since there's a flow of delivery drivers coming in and out for delivery orders. I recommend calling ahead to order (cash or venmo) or ordering online (for pickup or delivery). The last time I ordered I called in and I always get their 6 piece combo that comes with your choice of six yubu and a drink. It's a lot of food and could be shared, or if you're really hungry you could take them all down- they're delicious enough that you'll want to. Individual Yubu are about $5-$6 per piece and have a sweet tofu packet loaded with rice and then the topping of your choice. All the toppings are delicious and they offer a variety of options including fresh fish, bulgogi, corn and cheese, pork, and crab. They also have a variety of sides like mini udon, kimchi fried rice, sodduk sodduk, mandu, potato croquettes, mini honey pancakes and more. Some of my favorites are the bbq albacore, garlic butter crab, lemon pepper salmon, myungran crab, spicy tuna, and seared tuna. I love trying new options whenever they have them though. I've only ever ordered pick up, but I appreciate that delivery is available too. This is one of my favorite spots for a treat meal when I'm craving fresh fish. For me, these are more filling than sushi and I love the sweet and savory combination of flavors that yubu offers.

I'm sure the service onsite will be welcoming. I had their mandu, which was fresh. Crisp to the bite and flavorful. Not oily either which is a great plus. I had their bulgogi and spicy pork, I believe, and both were delicious. Each was flavorful and had the perfect balance between protein and rice. The fact that I don't need to add hot sauce speaks volumes to a perfectly seasoned item. I would highly recommend this place for a quick bite. Wouldn't say a meal, but def more of a snack spot to satisfy the Korean cravings.

Being so close to the university, I would expect more students to be here, but each time I've come (2), the crowd skews 30-40s. Lots of families and small children too. I love the concept of a food hall where everyone can get what they want. And with the convenience of table side ordering, there are no lines and people can really enjoy hanging out and chatting while the food is cooked and arrives. I will say my one complaint is that everything is served to go with very little reusable dishware, which creates lots of paper waste. All dishes come with the right accoutrements too - ketchup for fries, onion and cilantro for the Birria ramen. Offerings: - Birria Ramen: super good flavor and good quality meat. I would have liked it to be served in a different container, perhaps there is a bowl option I missed. 4/5 - Okie Dokies Burger: Calling all onion lovers to this place! It did also have great overall flavor and was cooked well. 5/5 - Okie Dokies Fries: Crinkle cut fries, these were just fine. A little seasoning would have made these better. 3/5 - Hawaiian Calzone: Surprisingly good! I really enjoyed the mix of flavors and the calzone wasn't as bready as most come. 4/5. - Kru hand rolls and sushi: It's Kru, it's good. The quality, flavors, everything. 5/5.

TL;DR - 1 star 1 out of 5 Stars…read more I am... Err WAS... a brand-new customer. My relationship with Trifecta Nutrition lasted a glorious total of "less than a week or so" before crashing and burning. I literally signed up for their service, received my very first order, and didn't realize the cutoff time for the following week had already passed. Because of an unexpected conflict, I am going to be out of the state for over a week. I immediately contacted customer service on a Sunday to catch it early and put a hold on the order. Keep in mind, the food wasn't even scheduled to be delivered until the end of the follolwing week. Plenty of time to hit pause or find SOME sort of solution for a newbie, right? And even if it wasn't, at least find some sort of workable solution for a NEW customer. Wrong. Instead of any actual assistance, I got a flat NOPE from customer service. The genius, highly accommodating solution from the super-intelligent "Mackenzie T." - - - - Since I'll be away, I should just have a friend or family member drive miles to my home and go take my (questionable) "food." WOW--brilliant! Why didn't I think of leaving $150+ worth of perishable meals--if you can even call them that--on a porch for over a week to see who wants it? In fact, nothing says "please break into this house" quite like leaving a massive, branded box sitting outside for 7+ days while I'm out of the state. So now, here I am, STILL actively trying to bribe friends, family, coworkers, anyone with cold hard cash to convince them to drive over, take this box of sadness, and dump the contents straight into the compost bin. And let's be real--with California gas prices currently hovering somewhere near a mortgage payment, it's costing me a fortune just to dispose of this biohazard. Because let's face it, nobody actually wants to eat it. I've used numerous other meal delivery services over the years (e.g., Factor, Cook Unity, Tovala, Blue Apron, HelloFresh, Home Chef, to list a couple), and I can safely say I've had scheduling issues with a handful of them. Even if it was my mistake or not, those companies almost ALWAYS find a way to work with you on unexpected conflicts--and that's for established accounts. Showing zero flexibility for someone who hasn't even been in your system for a full month is truly peak customer care!!!!!! Groundbreaking, really. The icing on the cake? The first order I did receive--and suffer through trying to consume--didn't soften the blow. If you enjoy a remarkably bland, uniform taste where it genuinely feels like they use the exact same single spice profile for literally everything, you're in luck. Save your money and the headache. Go try of the other services I listed above, unless you really want to pay premium prices to feed your neighbors identical-tasting chicken while you're across the country. Oh, but wait, there's more... After I pointed out that other companies are actually flexible and that I'd *hope* for at least some effort to accommodate a brand-new customer and to just go ahead and cancel my entire account..... The masterclass in customer retention response? "OK, canceled, and if you ever want to restart, reply back." Do you REALLY think I'd voluntarily sign up to put up with double the crap from Trifecta (crap food and crap service)? NOPE. I'd rather share my story on Yelp and hopefully spare some other poor, hungry soul from having to go through this experience. So... in summary - TL;DR - 1 star, obviously.
