TL;DR - 1 star 1 out of 5 Stars I am... Err WAS... a brand-new customer. My relationship with Trifecta Nutrition lasted a glorious total of "less than a week or so" before crashing and burning. I literally signed up for their service, received my very first order, and didn't realize the cutoff time for the following week had already passed. Because of an unexpected conflict, I am going to be out of the state for over a week. I immediately contacted customer service on a Sunday to catch it early and put a hold on the order. Keep in mind, the food wasn't even scheduled to be delivered until the end of the follolwing week. Plenty of time to hit pause or find SOME sort of solution for a newbie, right? And even if it wasn't, at least find some sort of workable solution for a NEW customer. Wrong. Instead of any actual assistance, I got a flat NOPE from customer service. The genius, highly accommodating solution from the super-intelligent "Mackenzie T." - - - - Since I'll be away, I should just have a friend or family member drive miles to my home and go take my (questionable) "food." WOW--brilliant! Why didn't I think of leaving $150+ worth of perishable meals--if you can even call them that--on a porch for over a week to see who wants it? In fact, nothing says "please break into this house" quite like leaving a massive, branded box sitting outside for 7+ days while I'm out of the state. So now, here I am, STILL actively trying to bribe friends, family, coworkers, anyone with cold hard cash to convince them to drive over, take this box of sadness, and dump the contents straight into the compost bin. And let's be real--with California gas prices currently hovering somewhere near a mortgage payment, it's costing me a fortune just to dispose of this biohazard. Because let's face it, nobody actually wants to eat it. I've used numerous other meal delivery services over the years (e.g., Factor, Cook Unity, Tovala, Blue Apron, HelloFresh, Home Chef, to list a couple), and I can safely say I've had scheduling issues with a handful of them. Even if it was my mistake or not, those companies almost ALWAYS find a way to work with you on unexpected conflicts--and that's for established accounts. Showing zero flexibility for someone who hasn't even been in your system for a full month is truly peak customer care!!!!!! Groundbreaking, really. The icing on the cake? The first order I did receive--and suffer through trying to consume--didn't soften the blow. If you enjoy a remarkably bland, uniform taste where it genuinely feels like they use the exact same single spice profile for literally everything, you're in luck. Save your money and the headache. Go try of the other services I listed above, unless you really want to pay premium prices to feed your neighbors identical-tasting chicken while you're across the country. Oh, but wait, there's more... After I pointed out that other companies are actually flexible and that I'd *hope* for at least some effort to accommodate a brand-new customer and to just go ahead and cancel my entire account..... The masterclass in customer retention response? "OK, canceled, and if you ever want to restart, reply back." Do you REALLY think I'd voluntarily sign up to put up with double the crap from Trifecta (crap food and crap service)? NOPE. I don't even know how this can pass FDA regulation as "food". I tried Trifecta for 3 weeks - it would've been 2 but there's no option to cancel online and they disregarded my first cancellation email - and the food was repulsive. For one thing, there is no convenient way to select your meals weekly, which is absurd given the ease of doing so with competitors. The food that I did get (same menu 3 weeks in a row) was the most foul, flavorless paste imaginable. I wouldn't even give it to the homeless people outside my apartment. I would feel bad. My dog, who is a fat, ravenous and indiscriminate piglet, refused food for the first time in her life. It was that bad. I would compare the quality to 3 day old McDonald's that you left in your car, except with less flavor than the paper bag. Store bought microwave meals are 10,000x better. Hell, I think dry scooping protein in your mouth is more enjoyable than these meals. I am shaken to my core at the thought of what kind of human being finds this food acceptable on any level. I previously used Trifecta about two years ago, and at that time the quality and portion sizes were much better for the price. The meals had more flavor and the ingredients looked fresher. Fast forward two years, and after giving it another try, I'm pretty disappointed. The service is now more expensive and offers noticeably less value for the money. Most of the meals tasted like basic microwave dinners. For someone who wants to spend less time in the kitchen and eat healthier, it can still be a convenient option. However, I recently switched to a different meal prep service, and the difference is night and day. The food actually tastes fresh, not like it was scooped, frozen, and stored for who knows how long. That leads to another concern: the macros. I've been counting macros for years, and these meals seem significantly lower than what's advertised. I'm not sure how Trifecta weighs their portions or calculates their nutritional information--whether they rely on a standard serving size or another method--but the numbers just don't seem to add up. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. There are far better meal prep services available that offer higher quality food at a lower cost. read more

Been ordering from them on and off for years. Greatly helps me eat healthy with my nomadic lifestyle. Really easy to get in touch with staff to change delivery dates, etc. Kenzie in particular is super helpful! Balked a bit at the cost per meal initially but I have to say the clean eating options are really good and even though they say not to, I freeze them and find them to be just as tasty when heated up at a later date. Also meals keep me really full compared to other meal services I've had- probably due to nutritional bang for your buck. Love that the packaging is *mostly* sustainable. My Activity level: moderate to high intensity 4-5 times per week and I eat about 2-3 meals per day (usually 1 of them is a Trifecta meal). I tried out Trifecta for two weeks and I can't be more disappointed. For starters their meals are tasteless. When the time came for me to get my second week of meals I was not given a proper heads up on selecting my meals and the same menu was automatically added. I asked their customer service if I could change the meals and they said yes just go to your account and choose, which I did. Next week I wake up Tuesday early morning and I think to myself oh my meals were delivered yesterday (most other meal delivery services deliver Mondays). I'm thinking at least nights are cold and the food should be ok. When I open the box I see I had been delivered with the same meals of the first week. I emailed the lady who had told me I could change the meals asking why my meals had not been changed and I also asked her why they had not sent me an email or a text message to confirm the delivery, I tell her my meals had sat outside all night without proper refrigeration. She then comes back and tells me that the changes I had made would only apply to the following delivery and that they deliver on Fridays not Mondays. My meals had sat outside in the sun four days! I had to throw $120 worth of meals in the trash because I couldn't get a delivery confirmation like everyone else does. I asked how they would remedy this wrong doing, as I had to throw all the meals in the trash because they couldn't send a delivery confirmation. After many back and forth they credited me back 50% of my first order, which was worth $26. As I had used the the first meals half price offer on my first order. When I asked why not at least give me the credit on the meal that had spoiled they said it was my fault because they always deliver on Fridays. I had only used them once but hence I was supposed to know this! My advice stay away from these guys, not only are they expensive and their meals taste is lame but they will not stand behind their service when things go wrong. read more

I saw they gave a deal for first-time buyers, standard marketing to get people to try the product, so I decided to give it a shot. The order arrived on March 20th. Tried it and it wasn't for me. Went to cancel on March 23rd rather than waiting to finish all the meals and then cancel. Live Chat was quick and responsive, but I learned their process will snag you for another order. The receipt they send also contains the disclosure that you have only until a specific date to make changes. I am one to keep receipts and give a check to make sure the numbers match up, but not read it as a form of a disclosure document. I was given the last day to cancel or skip, on the same day I received the food. Thanks for the time to actually try the product first, before I am in a position where the next order is already executed. They do send a reminder email, which came in at 1:56 am, so by the time I was up, my inbox was filled, and the notification was so far down the list I didn't see it. I found it tasted very processed and not of the highest quality, but that could just be me. It's worth a try, but IMMEDIATELY CANCEL after you place your order, as you won't have time to try it before they charge you for the next order. read more

I chose the clean meal plan and would be surprised if these meals are chef planned, since there were so many ingredients; I don't think they really are clean eating. For sure, the food tasted terrible to me. The grains were soggy and veggies hard (ie, imagine hard sweet potatoes). The meals come frozen and I was surprised the same day they were received, the second shipment was billed. [The company bills every Friday and the shipments arrive every Friday]. There was no time to assess if I wanted to continue with the plan or not. I ended up donating the food because I just couldn't stomach it and hope the recipients felt differently and liked the 10 meals received. A colleague referred me when I expressed how tired I was with cooking and eating the same thing several days a week. She recommended Factor (which I tried) and she recommended Trifecta saying "they are the most expensive but their food was really healthy and fresh." What worked well: Easy navigation with their app. Most meals were edible. Delivered every Friday morning and when I arrive home early evening, food was still cold. Almost frozen with their freezer packs. What I did not like: Not allowed to select your meals for the week like other meal prep services do. I do not want shellfish, pork, nor duck yet you can only select 2 items you don't want. As a result, I'm receiving food I will not eat. I skipped every week (4 weeks) when I knew I was going to cancel my service. However, when I canceled (can only do so by email or phone call) I was told I did not skip the coming week and I will be charged for the following week. Very discouraging when I know what I did on the app. To resolve this, when people skip weeks, send an email confirmation (like other meal prep companies do). That way, there is no disputing / going back and forth if someone skipped a week. Lastly, when a member wants to cancel their service, they should be able to do so online (like other meal prep companies do). If you can order through the app, skip weeks through the app, why not cancel through the app? Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros. It is pricier compared to other meal prep companies yet they don't offer the convenience of selecting your own meals. read more

I'm shocked by all of these 5 star reviews. pros: It was easy to cancel/good customer service. cons: my meals were all frozen when delivered. eggs were interesting and I found it hard to believe they were fresh & not made from some type of powder. Threw them out & added my own egg bc the butternut squash was actually yummy hence the 2 stars. Protein & veggies are supposed to be organic but that surprises me as well, it certainly doesn't taste like it. Were there a few good meals? Yes, maybe 2 out of the 7 & there were some I could not eat. I called to cancel after first delivery but missed the cut off so I have one more delivery. They were still saying publicly that they're transitioning to vacuum packed meals for some of the meal plans as recently as late April 2023. Buyer beware- take a look at the complaints on the Better Business Bureau page for Trifecta Nutrition as well as the trust pilot page for "trifectanutrition". Avoid!! or at least tread very carefully and make sure to use your account to skip a couple weeks before trying your first week so they don't charge you for the second week before you have tasted the first week's food. Just in case it is "seemingly" (not) good. They have an aggressive public relations team, so look carefully at how many reviews people have written when you read the reviews here. read more

The meals look nothing like the ones they advertise! They must be sending out different meals to normal customers compared to those who they want to be Trifecta influencers. All of the meals arrive not vacuumed sealed and just covered with a thin piece of plastic wrap that may or may not be sealed. Almost all meals came looking like a burrito bowl/dog food mix (not appetizing and hard to see what ingredients you're actually eating, nothing like the pictures aka false advertising). No real variety in flavor either, it seems everything is in the spicy realm: Tex-Mex, Etouffee, Jambalaya, Chili, Burrito Bowl, etc. read more

An update to everyone: the "people" responding to negative reviews most likely are bots because no one from Trifecta has reached out to me via email or messages and there's no way I can message "Dale" to speak with him. When I did chat to customer service about a comment I saw on Facebook about the old packaging returning, I was told they would be going back to the original vacuum sealed packaging sometime between February and January of 2024, and so far the Keto Meals are back to the vacuum sealed packaging. As for the quality of food, I hope they work on it too. Because the vegetarian option looks and smells worse than dog food and the taste is horrible. read more

She gave me the option to freeze my account, but I wasn't sure where I was going yet, so I opted to cancel for the time being until I found and settled into my new place. Awful, don't waste your money. My husband who is the least picky eater on earth and will eat anything, wouldn't eat half these meals and we ended up throwing the majority in the trash after one bite (and some couldn't even try they looked undercooked and nasty). The chicken thighs were all fat and still red inside. Customer service only gave a half refund for the two weeks (I forgot to cancel in time for the second shipment).
