I was left in a bit of a pickle when the day care we had been using for several years advised us…read morethat they would be discontinuing their school age program and we had just 2 months to find summer care for my 1st grader. First off, calling ANY La Petite is ridiculous. They answer the phone with a cheery song which threw my off guard, and they will always tell you they have availability at all the locations regardless of if they do or not. I scheduled an appointment for the Thornton location, the director called later on to cancel the tour and I asked if they did had availability and she said no. I said the call center stated they did, she says "yeah, they always say that". So I moved on to the next closest location, Broomfield. This time I bypassed the call center and found the center number and called them directly. I spoke with Kim, the director and scheduled an appointment, she stated that she prefers people to schedule tours with her anyway rather than call the center. I asked if she had availability over the phone and she confirmed that there was space available for the summer program. I show up for my tour a bit early and the assistant director was able to show me around, the day care itself seemed clean and very nice. Kim showed up and seemed confused, she asked if I had scheduled a tour with the call center. I reminded her that I called and talked to her directly. She seemed to just brush that off and move on. She gave me costs and when I again confirmed availability the answer was different now. "We'll, I have to see, I have some families that might go on vacation and are supposed to get back to me and I'm not sure" I was prepared to pay the fees to hold a spot but she really was unable to give a strait answer about anything and told me she was going to follow up with some of the families that day and get back with me by the end of the week. End of the week, no call. I called the following week I believe on Monday and left a voicemail, no call back. I called again on Wednesday and spoke with Kim, she still had absolutely no idea if they would have space in their summer program but told me she would get back with me again before the end of the week. Do you think I got a call back? If I did I wouldn't be leaving this review. I did not call back and never heard a single word back from Kim. She clearly did not care what so ever and I wish she would have just said so the first time I called so I didn't waste time out of my morning to tour the day care when she had no interest or intention of enrolling my daughter. Maybe the day care is nice. I added one star just because the assistant director was nice and the day care seemed nice. Otherwise I would just give one star for the poor communication and poor professionalism of the director.

The Hope Center and all their educators, staff, and leadership are incredible. I stopped in for a…read moretour hoping to enroll my 2 year old into the toddler program and the directors Ms. Nichole Johnson and Dr. Eric Alan Rowe were extremely warm and welcoming. The Hope Center features a beautiful modern dedicated music room with all kids of drums, keyboards, and even ukuleles! During my tour I got to see a preschool class practicing their instruments in the sun and they were so excited and full of joy. Each classroom is themed after Black and Latino community leaders, activists, artists, musicians, and activists and the curriculum used in the entire center is multicultural, experiential and language-based. We've toured a few different programs these past few weeks, but this was the first and only space that truly felt like home. My daughter even reached up and wanted to be held by Ms. Nichole the entire tour. We were greeted with love by staff and students during our time there-kids were giving my daughter hugs as we passed by. We even returned the next day for their annual fashion show to be in community and it was so well executed and just adorable! It is apparent that kids are safe and happy at the Hope Center. Many of my friends were raised in the Hope Center (I'm 32 years old) and now have their children enrolled. It continues to be a safe, loving, and supportive learning community for our newest generation of students. I cannot wait for my daughter to attend. I can't sign my paperwork fast enough. We are grateful for this outstanding community gem and proud to send our daughter here. Highly recommend!

We as prospective parents and to be blunt "strangers" easily gained access to the play area (no security measures to let us in), we we then piled into the Nido room, where there were several babies. We waited with these babies for about 30 minutes before the tour commenced. One baby in particular was left alone in a corner for quite some time, one of the parents touring ended up going over to console the baby. The environment, all wood, all beige. NO COLOR whatsoever, throughout the entire school, Nido, Toddler class and Primary.....bland...No art on the walls, no fun toys, nothing. Natalie the owner kept stressing teaching "practice life", and this is what I saw, cleaning rags and spray bottles, cooking tools, she discussed the virtues flower arranging for quite some time. I saw some beige wooded stacking toys here and there...again the whole room was beige and grey. The thing that disturbed us most was Natalie's aloofness to serious questions and concerns. Example: "In case of emergency, what is the plan to evacuate the children from the building?" Natalie's Answer: "Well toddlers aren't really interested in fire drills."......WHAT???!! Question: How do you vet prospective employees?" Natalie: "well the Montessori community is really small, and we sorta know them, but we do standard state required backgrounds, and my cousin works here." This answer didn't Inspire confidence... what is the interview process?? What qualities do you look for? Question: what is the turnover rate? Natalie's answer: mmmmm.... wellll...mmmmm...so and so is still here, and...hmmmmm...well... she literally stood thinking for 30 seconds...Literally no answer at all!! It's a small school, you should know!! During the tour we observed not only other parents faces rolling their eyes and laughing as Natalie prattled on without looking anyone in the eye...as if she was totally bored and uninterested in us as prospective parents, we also observed several parent leave in the middle of the tour. The one thing Natalie seemed proud of was....the "waiting list" at Highlands Montessori... as if it was a badge of honor. I don't care about your waiting list. Respect my time, every tour you give should be taken seriously with professionalism. PerWe live on Tenneson literally down the block from this school... and would never send our prized possession, our son, to this school. And they have the nerve to ask for $1800 a month??!! Nope, Nah and hell no! . Listen, this was MY EXPERIENCE, and say what you want there is never a second chance for a 1st impression. And we did find a program where I feel my child is nurtured and loved. There was not a single positive review until I wrote this review. Interesting. But carry on.
