If you need an actual haircut with styling, the person who cut my hair was not the right choice. Dry cutting alone is not styling--it felt more like shaping a Chia plant than cutting hair. I asked for a simple, one-length cut, which should be basic, yet it was not executed well despite her claiming 16 years of experience. She spent a lot of time talking and trying to make it seem like I, the customer, was wrong or didn't understand hair. If the result had matched all that confidence, fine. But talking a lot and then failing to deliver is not good customer service. I'm really disappointed and now have to pay someone else to fix the uneven, poorly done work on my hair. I really wish I could get a full refund. read more

I highly recommend Trivium for men's haircuts. I hadn't had a real cut in a while and Chelsea worked magic in understanding what I wanted and working with what I gave her. I was getting a major style change and was worried going in - but Chelsea (thank you!) managed to manifest exactly the look I wanted. And it was very reasonably priced ($50-$60) for the service and quality. Even at 11 am on a Thursday Trivium was busy, and I saw a few other guys in there. I had had trouble finding reviews for men's haircuts in more of a salon setup not a barbershop, but I saw a few other guys in Trivium, so they must have a few stylists who give good men's cuts. read more

I have a been a loyal customer to Rori Bass before she started Trivium. I followed her from Tapestry Salon (now closed) in Louisville when she was there and was a client of hers at both businesses. I have been going to Trivium Salon since they had their grand opening and came here for facial services every month for many years. I regularly scheduled my appointments in advance and have never missed an appointment, until my 1st one today. I took ownership of my missed appointment and apologized profusely. They still charged my card the full $125 for the service and did not personally care as to why it was missed for my 1st time. To their credit, they offered an exception to the missed appointment AFTER I had called back canceling my next 3 appointments for the year and told them I was taking my business elsewhere. That exception should have been offered in the first place, but it was not, and they did not care. If it was an exception, then why was I STILL CHARGED? I understand business practices and policy, but this is bad business practice especially for loyal customers that follow you from previous locations and helped you build your business from the ground up. I even took my daughter here to see Caitlynn (Kassie, the other esthetician is better after I got services done with her last month). Ever since Rori moved out of state, Jasper has taken over as the manager in charge. Since she left, this business has gone noticeably downhill. I was staying with this business because I was loyal to her. However, loyalty does not work both ways with Jasper or this business, and as a customer that gets facial services done regularly, I will take my money and business elsewhere and will not turn back. I have heard from neighbors, coworkers, and friends that there a better ones in the area anyway. read more

Great experience at Trivium today. I had a first time cut with Chelsea. She was wonderful, listened to what I wanted and was patient with me! She recognized the concerns with fine hair and was very talented. I appreciated it all as someone who has been looking for a new stylist. Overall great experience with her! My only thought is that the salon itself had upbeat energy but also was small and busy. Seemed like everyone was a little crammed in there working around others and clients coming in and out around the stylists working. Was a bit stressful. Read a lot of reviews about how they take walk ins. I understand being fully booked but I was told they were booked for the day and the next day, and they didn't even offer to ask what I was looking for, or if I had availability for a day they weren't booked. I haven't been able to find a great salon anywhere in Colorado and I was hopeful for a great experience but I was instantly made to feel unwelcome and the interaction was all of 15 seconds. My advice to your reception is to ask questions and try to book an appointment for a later date instead of telling a new customer you're booked the next two days and that's that. It wasn't a great vibe or experience. read more

First timer! Came in to see Marissa for a hair dye, and a trim. My Hair profile: long, layered, curly, dry, color: top black, mid dark red and bottom blonde It's been 4 months since I've been to the salon for obvious reasons. I read the great reviews and decided on Trivium. I'm so glad I did. Marissa was great! My appt was 9:45 -1pm ish. I came in a few days before for a consultation. I wanted a bright red color. Had my hair that color before and I really missed that look. Marissa took the time to explain to me the challenges of getting my hair that color and also maintenance. (Avoid washing frequently, wash in cold water, use hair color products) I really appreciated that. Because my natural hair -black was already growing out and much of it was blonde the team collaborated and recommended dark red up top and bright red at the bottom. The process was obviously a process :) Marissa was a professional and def attentive throughout. She made sure I didn't leave with any red dye color on my ears or face. Coming here was such a delight! My experience at Trivium has been excellent. All interactions I've had here have been positive, from guest services (Anna) to my stylist, Jasper. The atmosphere is welcoming and everyone is always extremely friendly and helpful. Jasper (Stylist & Salon Manager) transformed my hair from a medium length cut to a pixie cut in less than an hour. I was somewhat nervous for such a big change to my hair but he took his time to clarify what I wanted and did a superb job. Jasper also recommended some excellent hair products that have made styling my new cut fun and easy! All I knew was that I was ready to chop all my hair off. I didnt know what style I wanted or what would work best for my EXTREMELY thick, corse, curly hair. I was scheduled with Omar and he took the time to review some acceptable hari styles for my hair type. He called over another stylist and we all talked about what would work and what wouldn't. They were really honest with me and help guide me toward THE PERFECT CUT! His knowledge and experience really put me at ease, I knew I was in good hands. I loved the fact that other stylists were willing to get involved even though I wasnt their client. There is an amazing family vibe in the salon, they all worked together to make sure I was taken care of. The salon is beautiful and the greeting staff is very welcoming. The salon owner is very personable, she came in and greeted all the staff and clients in the salon. I highly reccomend Omar, he is fun, kind and knows his stuff! Finding a good stylist, isn't easy. Especially when you have baby fine, thin hair. All the cute pictures you find online, usually won't work on my hair. I started asking my clients who cut their hair. More times, then not, Jaspers name came up. I went in with a totally open mind. When we moved to Superior from Boulder, my wife wanted to find something closer for her hair coloring needs. After much research, she found Trivium and she was immediately thrilled with the results. Her hair was purple for our weeding and is often redish or pink or purple striped so this is not something she takes lightly. I now also have my hair cut there - albeit no coloration - and Steve does a great job and does a real solid, pro men's cut. Staff is great. Super friendly. Always offered wine, tea, coffee or water. Always snacks available. And important to add...price is right. I don't normally take the liberty of speaking for my wife but I think I can safely say we both would recommend Trivium to anyone. My nearly 9 year old daughter has thick, waist-length curly hair. We saw Dallas last night for a much overdo cut. I can't say enough good things! He was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. He gave her a beautiful cut, amiably chatted with her and provided wonderful ongoing care tips. Very beautiful salon BUT ...I wanted to get my hair ash blonde, is currently brown now but my natural color is black. The stylist who saw me gave an expensive quote and I'll need to wait month! But I was able to pay anything and wait, as long as Ill get the hair color I wanted. She did a trial 1st in a piece of my hair but it turned orange/carmel which I hate. So she rather canceled my appt and pretty much clarified " that my hair would never be the ash blonde I want - it can only turn orange" ( did no offer any option or solution and acted arrogant). A few days later I had another appointment at another hair salon in Louisville too, the stylist was super sweet and my hair turned exactly as I wanted ! The ash blonde I wanted for way less money and my appt came in 1 week. Now I know that my hair wasn't the problem, it was the lack of capability of the stylist. I'm glad I did no give up, at least she was honest about what she wasn't able to achieve ;-) read more

After finding Trivium from Yelp reviews & then being able to see each stylist & their areas of expertise on the company's website, I scheduled an appointment with Steve Bobian & could not be happier! The salon was amazing, great customer service, above & beyond any other salon I have visited, but Steve was AWESOME! He was so personable & professional. I moved to Colorado a year ago and have attempted to find the right salon and the right stylist for my blonde hair. I finally found the perfect place and the perfect stylist to take care of my blonde locks. Found Trivium online and read the many amazing reviews about their stylists and their salon. I made an appointment with Steve initially. I was super appreciative when Steve sat me down and made different recommendations for what I needed for my hair. Recognizing that he had limited time that day he strongly recommended Shayna. I was very impressed by the ethics of The Stylist and their willingness to work together. That speaks highly of the leadership and the ability for these folks to meet the needs of their customers. I came back a few days later and had a great experience with Shayna. From the moment I walked through the door, Philip greeted me with excellent customer service and Shayna listened to all of my needs. It goes without saying that she's a true artist and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I know she has many talents, but if you're a blonde and you're looking for a great color and a wonderful cut she's your girl!
