I needed a new roof because my home owners insurance company was threatening to drop me due to granular decay. I received quotes from 6 different businesses, but Competition Roofing stood out as the best. From the initial quote, Kyle, the owner, walked me through their whole process. I had a few flashing issues that was making a badly installed window leak and he made certain that they would be addressed during the re-roof. Their pricing came out second lowest of the 6 companies I received quotes from. However, Kyle's communication and praise from other reputable contractors convinced me to roll with them. I wanted the roof done correctly, not necessarily for the lowest dollar amount. Once I signed on, Kyle was there throughout the entire process. He took care of permitting, informed me of when inspectors would show up, and even called to ask if I would like to be moved up on the schedule. I was impressed--I rarely come across contractors that are great communicators. Our new roof took 4 days. Kyle laid out exactly what would happen during each day. He was onsite during the tearoff and walked me through any small issues he saw, such as a few pieces of rotted plywood. The crew Kyle worked with was excellent. Each day, they cleaned up thoroughly and even took in my trash cans on garbage day! What kind of contractors go above and beyond like that? On their final day, one of the workers proudly showed me a video of the roof. I love it when people take such pride in their jobs. After installation, Kyle returned to do a full walk around with me to make sure all of the issues we had previously discussed in the quote were addressed (they were!). Overall, I cannot recommend Competition Roofing highly enough. They are true professionals in their communication, execution, and operations (yes, they are licensed and insured!). We reached out to Competition after we noticed our roof leaking after the last heavy rain. They came out, gave us a quote and didn't constantly bug us to make a decision and sign a contract with pressure tactics.  I hate when companies try and pressure me to make a decision or the price will go up.  We took our time and they answered our many questions since we wanted to be more thorough in the process than the last cheap roof we had installed just 11 years ago.  Frankie and his team of roofers were friendly, professional and did a wonderful job on the roof and clean up. Got quotes for a new roof from many different roofing companies. Literally all of them sent salesmen with laptops and long drawn out presentations who all literally say the same thing. Cant recommend Competition Roofing enough! They did my folks roof in the late 90s, so it was a no-brainer that we would use them for our new roof. That alone should tell you about the quality of service they provide. 30+ years in the business + generational referrals. This experience with them was just as outstanding as my parent's described from back in the day. Frankie was the project lead. Very professional, transparent about the whole process and incredibly responsive. The team was just as excellent. Fantastic work, accommodated all my requests (needed to install some vents for the bathroom fans) and met each milestone on time. Price was very reasonable and fair too. Definitely not the kind of Company that looks to nickel and dime its customers. We ended up needing much more tile than expected (I asked them to reuse as much of the old tile as possible and turns out 20+ year old tile breaks easily). Totally gave me a break on the quoted per-tile-cost. We were also having a bunch of other work done on the house (new gutters, paint, new patio). The other contractors had to go up on the new roof and ended up breaking 50+ tiles. Frankie and the team came out and replaced the broken tiles at no cost. You just dont find that kind of commitment to service anymore, you know? But it's totally on-brand for them. With the torrential rains the past two years, our roof took a beating and was leaking water into our home. Like a lot of other Californians, we had to quickly find a licensed roofing company to replace our roof. We had several referrals from our friends and neighbors for different roofing companies; however, my husband with his trust issues needed to do his own research of which company to go with. He scheduled consultations with several roofing companies, and out of all of them, we felt most comfortable with Competition Roofing. What sealed the deal was how honest and detailed Kyle was during the initial estimate. My husband mentioned that he learned something about roof installation through Kyle's explanations compared to his other consultations, and how Kyle genuinely cared about how roofs should be installed (even if we were to go with a different company). Their pricing was also fair compared to other roofers and the scope of work. Communication was very easy with the team, and they have always responded promptly to our questions. They gave us referrals for different homes in our area to check out their work, so we made it a field trip with our children to try to spot the different colored shingles on the roofs. As the installation date got closer, the team was in close contact with us due to unexpected rains affecting our start date. Although they quoted up to a week for installation, their team was able to complete the job in 3 days, just in time before a severe thunderstorm. I had a unique roof leak problem that other contractors tried to fix, but didn't. I called Competition Roofing because they are local and have many years of experience. They have been great to work with. Very quick to respond. Quick to come inspect the problem. Quick to provide a detailed bid. It did take a while for them to get to my repair, but I was told upfront that they were extremely busy and given it was not the rainy season I was ok with the wait. The repair was completed and the crew was thorough, polite, and took care to clean up all the roof debris. Months later, on a very rainy day, a window near the repaired area was leaking. I called Competition Roofing and Bob was at my house within an hour. After looking at the leaking window he found the seal around the window was compromised. Even though the window was technically not part of the repair, he offered to reseal it at no additional cost. A couple of days later, Competition Roofing was back at my house and applied sealant to the window. Amazing customer service. Professional. Polite. Diligent. Excellent communication. He kept trying to push a silicone coating on a 14 year old flat roof.
