Had a new roof put on and went with the full ridge vent. Was concerned about trapped heat as I was going from an old shake on slats to the full cover plywood and asphalt shingle. The garage stayed noticeably cooler with the full ridge vent so yay! The job took 4-days, really 3.5-days with the first 0.5 being a crew who peeled off the old shakes the first day and some supply delivery. 2nd was delivering more supplies, checking for dry rot, replacing as needed, and starting the plywood, and waterproofing. 3rd was shingling and gutters (separate crews), 4th finishing everything up including painting the vents to match with the new roof. NEMA Roofing picked up my phone call and got me on their schedule right away. I had a few loose tiles on my roof that needed to be put back into place. They offered to replace all the nails in the neighboring tiles to make sure I didn't run into any issues with other tiles in that spot in the future. I have a tile roof and they were very careful remove and neatly stacked all the tiles so that they could remove and replace my underlying paper. Nema Roofing is as good as it gets. I'd definitely recommend to anyone who needs their roof replaced. Before bringing them on, I did my due diligence, of course. Got estimates from four highly rated roofers. One was just too high. The other gave a lazy and terrible presentation. The remaining two were neck and neck, but I went with Nema Roofing for two reasons: bottom line price and reputation. Nema Roofing's rep, Mike, gave an extremely thorough presentation of the work to be done. He brought samples of the roof shingles, explained to me in detail what work was needed, offered suggestions, and then hit me with an estimate (permit included) that beat every other contractor. After a week or so, the crew came by for the installation in the early AM and they were pretty much done late afternoon. Everything was installed as promised, with no hiccups. Clean up was extremely thorough as well. My neighbor had a re-roof a few weeks prior, and she was a bit saddened once she saw the crew's work and the price I paid. Unfortunately, her installers did a sloppy job on her roof. And they left a bunch of mess in my yard as well. NEMA did a great job on our 1929 built home and garage. I was concerned with the stability of the roof on the garage, as it is a little warped but Mike was confident they could completely the job correctly. I had a couple different quotes, one guy was not interested in doing our job because he was afraid he was going to run into too many problems because the age of the home. Mike came out and gave me the lowest quote. 2 weeks later the huge trashcan came and his men began to work. They put large tarps down to protect my plants the best they could and cleaned up the debris well. Our garage shares a property line with the neighbor and they went over to the neighbors house to clean up too. The roofers were on time every morning and they completed the job by the estimated time, 3 days. We are very happy with our roof.
