I've been meaning to write this review for years, so here it goes-- I can't recommend this company enough! The associate who first came to assess our roof and give us a quote was super informative and respectful. There was no "hard sell" and he patiently answered all of our questions even though we were in the middle of other renovations and told him we wouldn't be making any decisions that day. He said "no problem" and sent us the quote to look over. Two months later we booked the job and were thrilled with the results. The whole process was easy and exactly what you'd expect from a good roofing company. They showed up exactly when they said they would, did a wonderful job and cleaned up before they left. Four years later our gutters started to leak. Mind you, this company sub-contracts out the gutter installation, so it technically wasn't their mistake. Specialist Roofing & Repair sent out a supervisor and fixed the issue-- no charge, no delay. All under warranty. They are a WONDERFUL company that does a great job and treats their customers with respect. Cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Let me just start by saying I'm a researcher. When I look for quotes, I first check Google to see what the average price of my expected repair will cost, then get multiple quotes and compare both scope of work and cost. Upon initial inquiry, Specialist Roofing & Repair was pretty quick to reply, so I scheduled a consultation. One odd thing is, when I scheduled, they asked if the would be seeing both my husband and I or just me; I find this a strange question as what if I wasn't married? It is awfully assumptive to think I had to have a husband, but I digress. Noah was scheduled to perform the inspection. He was running a bit late and called about 5 minutes after our scheduled time letting me know he ran into some traffic and would be about another 5 minutes or so. He showed up 20 minutes later and it was the oddest thing, he parked in my driveway. When he came up to the door he asked if it was okay and I said okay, but honestly, I found it really strange and just didn't want to prolong the appointment. Upon inspection, he seemed very knowledgeable and personable and did a pretty thorough inspection taking pictures and videos of the roof and surrounding areas. As mentioned, I am the type to obtain multiple quotes, so I expected that after he did the inspection, we would go over his findings and a few days later I would receive a quote. After he did the inspection, he showed me a video of something the other roofers didn't, which was nice as I like a thorough job, but then said he would be in touch with a quote. I received a phone call a few days later asking to discuss findings, but when I called back, I got an AI bot which was then followed up by a call back from a real person. Oddly enough, when they called, they literally said nothing. They asked if it was a good time to talk and I said yes but they wanted to talk when "my husband was around." Even though I said it was a good time, they said they would call back. I followed up via Yelp message. It has been over a week and I have yet to receive any quote from them. Needless to say, I won't be going with this company. They aren't willing to work with just a woman and are unresponsive. read more

Update: 2 stars due to poor communication and poor customer service Roof Repair Specialist did solid work on the actual roof replacement -- the installation passed inspection and came with an Owens Corning warranty, which I appreciated. However, the experience beyond that was frustrating enough that I can't give a full recommendation. After the roof was done, I reported gutter damage that needed to be addressed as part of the same wind damage claim. Getting a response became extremely difficult -- emails went unanswered for extended periods and scheduling the gutter work took months longer than it should have. Even Aida, their billing contact, acknowledged 'all the delays' in writing. During this period, their representative Andre verbally offered me a credit in person due to the inconvenience caused by the delays. That credit was never honored. The billing process was equally frustrating. Rather than continuing to engage with me to resolve a dispute I had clearly communicated in writing -- and which I had proposed a specific resolution for -- they went silent and sent the account to collections. The matter was ultimately resolved exactly as I had suggested in my emails all along, making the entire collections episode entirely unnecessary and avoidable. I was left to chase communications between their team and my insurance company on my own throughout this process, which is far more than a homeowner navigating an insurance claim should have to manage. To their credit, Chris ultimately worked with me to reach a fair resolution, and the gutter work was completed. But the amount of effort required on my end was far beyond what it should have been. If you hire them, get everything in writing and stay on top of communication. read more

The crew at Specialist Roofing applied a 2 layer silicon roofing system to a two building flat roof. Their prep work was meticulously done and attention to detail was great. Marco the PM on the job was great. I had concerns with numerous satellite dishes and wires on the roof. He followed up and made sure the wires were suspended out of the way while the work progressed. We never had issues with the dishes on the roof. Marco provided detailed pictures as the work progressed, and nice drone shots of the roof upon completion. The crews kept the property clean and tidy during the week. The job completed in under 4 days with excellent results. read more

They are working with us to repair and upgrade the roof in sections which has helped us to to budget the large expense. update: Very few people will admit fault and take the extra initiative to make it right. Jason and Specialist roofing &repair are the exception to the rule. They fully accepted what had happened and wanted to make it right. It wasn't a "sorry we messed up, thank you anyways" . I could tell Jason truly was sorry and wanted to really make sure things were taken care of. I honestly didn't have high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised. The workers were on time, no problems there, great work and honest work. They didn't try to sell me on something I didn't need and on one of the hottest days of the year I felt so bad for them being on the roof. Definitely would recommend them as they are really well put together. When they mess up, they don't make excuses, they make it right. They were very responsive when I was trying to set up an appointment. I tried to set up an appointment at a time that worked for me. They said that it didn't work for them, but the earliest they had was on Monday, March 9th. I said okay, that sounds good. Let's do March 9th then. They said oh wait that time doesn't work for us anymore. Let's do March 12th and I said okay. That works for me too. The day of March 12th comes around. They're supposed to be here at 4:00. It's 4:10 So I send a yelp message. I get an immediate response which I appreciate. But I don't appreciate the fact that they should have called me before 4:00 to let me know that the person who was going to show up could not make it. I really don't like the fact that I have to be on top of a company like this to figure out what's going on. It foreshadows what it would be like if I had a project with them. Everyone's busy. As a Realtor, I regularly recommend service vendors to my clients, and have my preferred vendors for my own properties on speed dial. I recently purchased another property in a completely different area of LA County, where many of my regular vendors will not travel (West SFV vs. Westside), and needed a vendor who could service the area. I found Roof Repair Specialists to come out based on their exceptional reviews. I hired them to perform an inspection, and identify and repair deficiencies in the roof in my new house. The inspection fee was reasonable, as was their repair pricing. All of the staff I connected with: (Fernando, who answers new inquiries; Flavio, my inspector; Areg in management; Catherine in scheduling; and Ramon who performed the actual roofing repairs) were all true professionals. In the course of my repairs, additional roofing deficiencies were discovered. I had prepared for this possibility, unfortunately it wasn't discovered until after it rained hard in LA for a week. Whether or not it was preventable is debatable for reasons too detailed to go into here, however, this company worked very hard to earn my complete satisfaction, this 5-star review, and most important of all -- referrals to my clients who depend on me to send them quality vendors. They did a phenomenal job fixing my roof, documented the repairs with 60 photos which were sent to me well before they asked for any payment, and confirmed my satisfaction. Our home had some roof gutter and roof shingle damage from the last windstorm, and needed some repair. We chose Roof Repair Specialist because #1 Aaron provided great customer service during the estimation/quote process, and of course #2 they had a competitive bid for the work. During the whole process Aaron and his team was very professional and informative. He is even used a drone to capture harder to see areas of our roof and gutters, and after the work was completed the company also sent us a package via email of the pictures including the "after" pictures of the roof after the work was complete. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Specialist Roofing and Repair. Ryan Frost was the specialist who came out to my house a few days ago. Not only was he communicative about scheduling and punctual, he was personable, kind, and honest. He came out to diagnose a leak I was having in my kitchen. He showed me the footage of my roof on his drone, explained everything he saw, which looked to be in good order, and found the actual source of my leak, which was not roofing related. He did not charge me anything and was clear he did not make any money for this service! I know now exactly what needs to be done to resolve this issue, which I had spoken to a few other people from different companies about with no resolution. All that said, I can't speak to the price or quality of the roofing or repairs that this company provides, since I did not need those services, so please read on to other reviews for further information. However, I would feel confident choosing this roofer in the future if I have problems, especially if Ryan Frost is involved, based on the integrity I witnessed--no fear tactics, no lies, just honest communication and solid rapport building. Two weeks passed without a word so I called and they told me they were on it and would get the estimate to me as soon as possible. We had been experiencing heavy rainfall in the San Fernando Valley area in mid-November 2025. Everything was going smoothly in our house when suddenly, several cups of water started spilling through the air return vent inside. Since we had our house re-roofed by Specialist Roofing & Repair just a year earlier, I was quite surprised, panicked, and honestly a bit frustrated. My immediate thought was to call the roofing company to see if they could come out and cover the area where the leak might be. They responded promptly and had the HVAC junction box covered on the roof within an hour, preventing the water from dripping down. Their service was excellent! It turned out that the leak was caused by several gaps in the dried-up, cracked HVAC sealant.
