He was not too friendly with a serious look on his face. The retainers were another issue--some were painfully tight, while others were too loose. The poor quality left me insecure, especially about a remaining gap in my front teeth. Looking back, I regret choosing braces here and wish I had gone with Invisalign or clear aligners at a more accommodating orthodontic clinic. I am an adult now and might or maybe have to do it orthodontic work again at another orthodontic clinic after I get my wisdom teeth out since my teeth is a little bit loosened and misaligned due to my wisdom teeth. My advice: If you have sensory issues to dental procedures, dental anxiety, or special needs, seek an orthodontist with proven experience in gentle care. I'd recommend looking for a highly rated clinic (4.8+ stars on Google) and reading reviews carefully. In my opinion, female orthodontists may be more empathetic, but ultimately, choose a provider known for patience and understanding, regardless of gender.
