DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT HERE. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a year now. I went in and showed them proof that I was moving away from the area and there was not a location anywhere near me. When I moved, I signed a paper stating I wanted to end my contract. A few months ago, I realized they were still charging me and called to cancel. I was told I needed to send a letter to officially cancel. I sent a letter. When I was charged again two months later, I called again. I was quite angry at this point because I had already tried to cancel twice. She refused to cancel over the phone. She asked me to send another cancelation letter. So, I sent a super snarky letter about how pissed I was about the situation. And today, I got a call from collections saying I had been turned in for not paying my bill. I called her, and she told me that not only did I need to send ANOTHER LETTER of cancelation, but I needed to have proof that I had moved AND send it certified mail. Even though my contract had ended AND I had been trying to cancel for over a year. read more

Cancelled back in August it's now October and they're still trying to take money out of my account so I put a stop payment on anything they try to take out when I called them they told me it'd take 5 to 6 days to return my money it's as if they think you're gonna forget they screwed you out of money. read more

I recently attempted to cancel my gym membership after two years of on time payment. I was told that I would need to pay for the following month as a condition of cancellation due to the gym requiring a 30-day notice. I pointed out that I was giving 27 days notice and asked if the 3 days could be waived. The front desk worker said "No." I signed the cancellation form that stated I would be charged for the following month's dues as the gym employee stated it was the only way I could cancel the contract. On the way out I requested a copy of my contract and to my surprise, there was no "30-day notice" mentioned. I then called in and talked with the owner. I explained that I was giving 27 days notice but he still wanted the additional month's dues. I then stated that the policy was not covered in the contract. He still would not work with me and went on to state that "I signed the cancellation policy and no one held a gun to my head." I agreed that I had not been held at gunpoint in his gym but I had been lied to by his employee, as the additional month's rent was not contractually required as she had stated. He still would not back down. So, I have reported the event to the State Attorney General and the BBB. *Update: The BBB claim was never resolved, or even addressed by Complete Fitness. I signed a two year contract, had to freeze for 6 months due to toxemia while pregnant. Now gym is saying my contracted is extended a year since I froze. They also made me give 30 day notice when I froze and it states I can freeze again at ANY time. Does not say ANYWHERE that a notice must be given. Also, it states in the they contract that they "may" extend for time loss but no where does it say that they will or for how long. I don't see where they got their math skills from adding an additional six months over the time I froze account. Employees gave me the run around every time I called, and when I got frustrated after the first few phone calls, they employees resort to calling me names. The owner refuses to be a professional and talk to me himself after I have repeatedly asked to speak to him personally. They refuse to give me the freeze agreements that I signed and never gave me copies of originally. They have made a number of my neighbors and friends mad with their horrible customer service and how their business is ran. This man is suppose to be a "pastor" as well, but yet he has no problem scheming people out of their money and trying to lock them into longer contracts. DO NOT sign up with this Complete Fitness in Festus or any other gym that is ran by this same man. I was told he is part owner of a gym in Imperial called Snap Fitness so if this is true... then beware !! read more
