It was a lovely day for a walk around the lake. Lots of fun things to play on in the playground area. The park is clean and well maintained. I was a little disappointed the longer trail in the back along the river was closed. They are working on the overhead power lines. I managed to get in a long walk anyway. read more

If you're looking for a rec center that has it all and won't break the bank, this is it. Best part, you don't have to live in Arnold to be a member. We joined for the pools. There's an indoor and outdoor. Outdoor is kid centered which is great but they should add another thats just pool. We use both a lot. If you're not a member the track is free to walk which is an extra perk. Happy to be a member! read more

Absolutely not. I requested on a few occasions to have a cancellation form that they require mailed because due to surgery I was unable to drive. They would not do so they emailed it to me even after me explaining I had no way to print it off. I went to the office on 1/16 and signed the form. They charged me an additional $19 for two more months. I get there are policies in place but I had not been to this location in over a year and a half. They do not stop or say anything when adults come in there around small children drinking and cursing and vaping. Definitely not a good example of a place for families or children. read more

Dog Park Review: Small dog area as well as large dog area Decent size with tons of stray balls everywhere which I appreciate. It's does seem a little unloved by the city. The grass and weeds are overgrown. There were serious muddy spots and it hasn't rained in a few days. I would definitely come here again in the evening when a few more dogs are here. read more

Ideal for younger kids. My 9y/o was bored. There is no deep end or diving board, and the big slide was broken.

HUGE pool and kid friendly. It is new and a nice atmosphere. I was amazed at how big this place is! There is adequate weight area, nothing huge. They still had television screens hanging from the ceiling. Younger people in that area. A lot of older people around also. It is a relaxing and friendly place. There is a running track around the top of the gym that anyone can go there for free. PRICE: Out of district membership for a year and for 2 people it was just a little over 220. So cheap! I am not from that area but I go there to go to a wonderful Tai Chi class. The instructor they have for Tai Chi and Yoga is a guy that is not only really nice, making you feel really comfortable but is a great teacher. He is patient with the young and the old. :) So hard to find a good teacher that doesn't take themselves so serious that they can not laugh at themselves and yet focused on his profession. read more

We run here often since there is a nice 4 mile trail around the park and lake. You do have to be careful of mud covering the trail after heavy rains since it is right next to the Maramac River. That also means there are swarms of bugs in the summer. The farmers market is getting bigger and better every year. It is on Sat. from 8 - noon in May - October. Our boys also love the play ground. read more

This is a decent sized park with several benefits to offer. There's a playground for the kiddos, several shelters and a tennis court. There's a walking path around the lake with a little branch that runs through the woods. There's always some fishing going on in the lake. Farmers market every Saturday morning. There's disc golf and some good sized fields. There's also a dog park. There's also a decent sized trail that runs behind the park. It used to be a neighborhood from what I've read and seen there. There's a few benches along the trail. The park is right next to the meramec river so it can and has flooded. A section of the trail that used to be a neighborhood behind the park is blocked off from cars and has recently been resurfaced. It now seems to suitable for rollerblades (to a point), but I have only biked on that section so far. I have yet to see it crowded at all and usually have it all to myself no matter what time of day I'm there. The loop around the lake is about 3/4 mile long and paved. It's not bad for rollerblades, but there are a few spots where you need to watch the cracks. I wouldn't skate into the woods, too many sticks/ acorns. This section does get busy with walkers/ joggers and occasionally a bicycle. The park isn't landscaped at all which disappoints me, but sure that's because it would hard to keep with the frequent flooding, which it seems to do once or twice a year. The worst thing about the park for me though is the geese. I can't stand all the goose "droppings" around lake. There's ALOT. read more

My dogs love it. Come here all the time and when we get home it night night time.they have so many friends and the yard is huge and there have been no fights what's so ever. read more

This recreation center is newly built. The amount of classes that they have isn't too bad. I think they just added Zumba. The usage fees are in the middle. They have indoor & outdoor pools. The indoor pool isn't big, but it's sufficient for me. The fitness gym is smallish. They have a wide variety of equipment. This place is clean, & the staff is friendly & helpful. The women's locker room is nicely decorated & is designed well. It's very kid friendly. If I'm not mistaken, they have a day care where you can drop off your kid while you go workout. Overall, two thumbs up. read more

I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth...(that gift horse being a free dog park), but the dog park is the size of maybe 2 large back yards. I think I'm spoiled after living in Columbia for a while and they have 4 acres with a lake. But, I took Zeppelin Wiggles there this weekend and he had a lovely time. I agree with Chip, I believe it's acceptable for the smaller dogs to be in the bigger dog one because there was a small dog there when we arrived. However, my dog has a lot of love to give (not in the biblical sense) so the small dog went to the other area. I'm sure Zep would give this 5000 stars, but as his critical owner, I have to knock it down a couple. I am longing for a huge dog park for him. Let me know if you find it. read more

We came from the YMCA which we had a scholarship for. So in the long run the Y was a lot cheaper for us. But our children were bored and didn't like it. So we started looking for a more family friendly place. Now please don't think I'm bashing the ymca I'm not its a great place but with a scholarship you can only go to one and it's usually the one closest to your home address and there was really not much to offer my children at that one. We did look at another rec center Saturday and sunday ended up over at the arnold rec center. It was awesome!!! To get all this at the Y we would have to have a metro pass which is so much more expensive then what you pay in this one facility. Its really nice, clean, great employees and great facilities! The kids loved it! It boasts and indoor pool with play area for the younger ones, slide that actually leaves the building and comes back in for the bigger kids, lazy river, whirlpool, bubbly areas (kind of like hot tub without the heat) and lap lanes and lots of water features. The outdoor "pool" isn't so much a pool but a huge splash park with 3 slides. One for toddlers, older kids, and teens/adults. Playground, baby splash pad, baby pool, lazy river, 2 whirlpools and lots of fun! The excercise room is a great size and very clean, 3 locker rooms (family, men/women), inside track above the basketball court an a family lounge that even has some games in it. Others are complaining about wifi, well go to the local mcd's. This is a place to work out, hang out with friends/family, go swimming whatever. It is so worth the money! read more

For the most part I'm happy with the indoor pool area. Debby, the aqua size instructor is fantastic. However, there is a man that comes and hacks up mucus, and the spits it into the side of the pool where it washes out into the public area. I have tried to speak with the manager, and the Jefferson Co. DOH and they will not do anything about him, because there is no 'code' about this disgusting hygiene. This is a bad precedent to allow, that the one person's germs can infect the many people in the pool. read more

While it is very nice, I won't be taking my kids there to swim anymore. My three year old went to go down a slide and I waited at the bottom for her. She never came down. Obviously, I was in a panic to say the least. I went to look for her, and was begging the lifeguards to help me. All they did was continue to tell me to go to the main building and they would page her. Anyone with small children knows how ridiculous that is. I did find her a few minutes later, with no help from anyone. While I do understand these lifeguards have certain areas they're stationed to, you would think a lost child in a crowded pool would be somewhat of a priority, considering their main objective is to make sure everyone is safe in the water. I'd also like to add, that they directed her to go down a different slide than the one she was waiting in line for. I watched her until she was second in line, then waited at the bottom. Once I did find her she said they made her go down "the red one", which was the one I was told she was too little for and wasn't allowed on. read more

I am so disappointed in this place. I went in to take my grandkids swimming yesterday. Because of other circumstances we didn't get there until 4:30. The lady at the front desk wanted to charge me full price for me which was fine but for 2 5yr. old boys she wanted to charge me $6 per child. That was a total of $18 for less than an hour to swim. With this economy that is CRAZY. I asked her nicely if she could please give me a break cause we didn't even have an hour to swim. She was VERY rude to me and did not want to help in any way. My grandkids were very disappointed and I was really mad. I think I will take my business to the YMCA on Tesson Ferry. I have been a resident of Arnold for over 26 years and have never been treated this bad. I will not be taking classes there either. Thanks Arnold for a not so nice place to take my grandchildren. read more

Horrible! Dirty! Rude! Family changing area small and nowhere to set dry clothes. Floors were disgusting in and around pool area. Teenage lifgaurds on a power trip with their whistles were inconsistent with their rules and did not pay attention to the little kids, only the big kids messing around. Party room was filthy, dirty tables, dirty floors, smelled bad! Had pizza-good from Cecil Whitakers- and cupcakes, not bad. Hostess was ok but pretty clueless about the facility, may have been new. Will not go back!!! Save your money, go to the YMCA or something. read more

My family and I recently attended the indoor swimming pool for the first time in hopes of getting a family pass. I had the most awful experience! The facility itself seemed very nice and clean, however the staff member that I encountered; a young female lifeguard, was one of the most unprofessional and thoughtless people I have had the misfortune to meet. As I was teaching my three year old to swim in a calm area of the pool, she removed us not because we were doing anything wrong, but AT THE REQUEST OF ANOTHER SWIMMER (what kind of reasoning explains that?) so that the other person could use the spot where we were. I was later told by the manager that she should not have removed us and we had every right to be there. If she has a poor understanding of the facilities' policies, that is one thing, but when I confonted her about why my child and I were removed just because someone else wanted to use the area we were in, she had a hard time explaining herself, and at one point could only shrug her shoulders as if to say" Too bad so sad". I became visibly irritated which she must have found amusing because she actually started snickering and had to turn her head. At this point my family and I immediately left. If this immature person is responsible for saving lives if neccessary, I would rather find another place to swim. read more
