Usually I wear long pants and sleeves but was mistaken that it was too early in the season for it to be out. In any event I needed some relief and while I don't usually go to any doctor for almost any reason, the itching was acute. Upon checking in at the front desk, I was given some forms that I needed to fill out and also presented my insurance card. The forms only took a few minutes and I was asked to take a seat in the waiting room. There is more than enough chairs for a healthy crowd but I was fortunate enough that there was only one couple inside when I arrived. While I waited, another sole patron came in so my timing couldn't be better. Within five minutes I was called to the back and shown to a nice room and they took my vitals and asked the standard questions. Two minutes later, a nice doctor came in and looked at the rashes on my arms and forehead and agreed that it was most likely poison ivy or oak or sumac. He suggested calamine spray for the itch and a ten day supply of prednisone. They phoned it over to CVS in Syosset and I was out in a jiffy. All in all, a pleasant experience for an unpleasant situation.

Thats not what this 1 star is for, this 1 star is for what followed after my visit, and the absolute unnecessary phone calls I had to make to get my medication. First, I was prescribed medicine, (short term) to help with my issue, there was a possible interaction with medication I am currently on, SO, the doctor did HIS due dilligence and told me, dont take the medication he is prescribing at the same time as my daily meds. That was that. I proceeded to go to the pharmacy, 4 hours afer my visit, and was told I didnt have anything yet. I called, and as it was 5p, I guess they were closed (to be fair it was a sunday) and so I left a message, asking them to please contact me when they get the message. Not only did they not do that, but they had the nerve to send me a "please review us" email as I was calling the office again. I was refered to their "after care" dept, and told that the medication isnt allowed to be transmitted electronically so it needs to be done a different way, which is fine, but they would contact me if there is any issue. I missed their call, so I called back, and over a period of 45 min, I was asked , ALL the same questions that the doctor already asked, I was also, put on hold so that the rep could find a PA or a CLINICIAN, and then when they would find one , the questions were the same, did you take Tylenol , did you take advil, did you try this, that. WHY are you asking me these questions when that was already established at the urgent care center. If Im to answer these questions, then what was my in person visit for, i could have just done a Telehealth with some random health facility. AND also, when I ask to just speak to someone directly, becuase EVERYTIME i got asked a question, and I would answer, the rep had to go find someone to give the answer back to, which would result in me on hold for another 10 min. If you as a company cant understand how ridiculous this system is, then you should not be in the business of comforting and careing for people that need help. This was not only a time waster but also just generally giving my original symptoms more intense pain. DO BETTER with your 'After care" dept, if you are going to call it that. Disgrace. Also,…read morethis location is in a good school district and feels well-maintained, safe, and well-resourced. The facility is bright, clean and modern. The staff members are welcoming and friendly. The care team here is patient, kind, reliable, caring and understanding. The doctors accommodate my special needs by extending my appointment times to 30 minutes when needed. One experience especially stood out to me. I passed out at the reception area, and another patient immediately called for help. The nurse and nurse practitioner immediately came out, helped me onto an exam table, and stayed with me until I fully regained consciousness. They showed genuine concern for patients safety and well-being, and the nurse practitioner even escorted me out to the parking lot afterward. That level of compassion and attentiveness meant a lot to me. I have had very different experiences in the past at Charles B Wang Community Health Center, an Asian clinic, and that's one of the reasons I decided to move my care to NYU Langone. Here I feel safe, respected, supported and taken seriously as a patient. About 90% of the patients here are White, 2% Asian, 5% Hispanic, and 3% African American. Around 70% were born in the USA and came to the U.S. before age 12, 80% came from highly educated families, and 70% are financially well off. I am pleased with the quality of care here and feel comfortable coming here. Even though I am always the only Asian person here, I felt welcomed, safe, respected, and supported, especially as a person with a disability in that environment. As a person with a degree who values quality Healthcare, I highly recommend this NYU Langone facility.

It is BIG... and old Waldbaums supermarket. Inside it is a large bright welcoming facility. Four doors as you walk in. Two on left and two on right. Depending on the type of medicine you need you go through your assigned door. They have a very long counter with many team members to check you in and prep you. We sat for a few minutes until my wife was called in. She loved her new doctor (Orthopaedics) and was given a shot and a prescription. She was very comfortable with the quality of her car throughout. This all went very smoothly and we were on our way out. These new facilities are the future of medicine and it looks like it's taking a positive step forward. I had to spend $4,000 to have fat removed from my butt because it had been moved to put in the hip. The hip was fine so I couldn't sue for malpractice. I tried communicating with the lead doctor to see if they could reimburse at least half of what I spent with no response. I looked deformed. I have a 7" scar that is about 1" wide. When I hear from other women that they have small imperceptible scar and I see that their profile is symmetrical I'm triggered. The other docs & PA's may be fine but I would go elsewhere for a hip replacement.

Anyway again as I'm now prone to getting calcium deposits, they have a technical name but I just call them that lol. I started with one in my right elbow, then 2 in my left elbow, doing an MRI after the 2nd time since that's the time to do an MRI after it pops up twice in the same spot. Anyway it's more common in the shoulder and I joked that'll be next. Skip ahead months later and bam shoulder is killing me. I get a massage, still pain, realized it was probably one of those pesky little deposits and ran over here. I was seen right away, and got a nice shot after confirming yup calcium deposit. I will probably end up getting an MRI in the future just to check as I did with my elbow but it's nice for the time being to be out of pain and able to enjoy my weekend. Getting a shot is not fun btw, it gave me a nice anxiety spike the next day and some anger mixed with my wacky hormones lol. But at least I can sleep peacefully and able to use my arm so hey I'll deal with it. I was in and out. I came here hoping for right away care, a solution and I got it. Much better experience this time around, compared to saying hey go somewhere else right before the holidays knowing I wouldn't get in anywhere that quickly years ago. So now I'd recommend this place or maybe the dr this time was just better and since I haven't had any injuries I most likely have no real actual damage to omg need an MRI. It's just a common thing that happens to happen to me lol. Some are prone to these things and I'm sure they'll pop up again one day. I'm hoping I never need a shot again or need to come here at least for a few years. I'll for sure be sending anyone I know to come here if anyone I know gets hurt.
