A few of my medical records had not been forwarded to the office, so she reached out and had them ready to go for my appointment. The waiting room was clean, quiet, and not at all crowded. (It was really nice to see a medical facility properly spacing out patients.) After my appointment, Denise clearly explained next steps as far as followups, and worked with my schedule to book convenient future appointments. Dr. Kelemen was kind, knowledgable, and thorough. He took the time to explain the exam, and encouraged me to ask questions as we talked and worked through my symptoms. He obviously spends a lot of time with patients to get the whole picture of what is going on, and is willing to go above and beyond to be efficient with his findings in order to provide the best possible care. I happened to be visiting for the week, and it was very frustrating for me that every office he was referred to did not have any appointments for two months. I spoke to his chiropractor, who is a family friend, and he stressed the fact that waiting two months was not acceptable. My father is hard of hearing, and not really savvy on social media. Since YELP is my go to for everything, I decided to research other offices and see if I could find him an appointment much sooner. Being in the dental industry, it is very important for me to read credentials and reviews from patients. I was very impressed with Dr. Scopelliti's back ground, so with fingers crossed, I made the call. Ladies and gentlemen, I felt like I was reaching out to an old friend. Debbie was so kind and understanding! Having an aging parent can be very challenging, but she was very patient as my dad chimed in his two cents from the background. She was able to get my father an appointment in four days. We chatted for a bit about what it is like to be a patient provider. She told me about the doctor, and the one on one experience he provides. I sent her dad's insurance information, and she was kind enough to reach out within the hour to explain about his patient portion. I was really looking forward to meeting the team, but circumstances came up and I sent my mom. I wanted her to be able to understand what the Dr. was diagnosing, and due to HIPPA regulations, I wanted her to be able to have future discussions if need be. When they came home, Dad gave rave reviews about Dr. S. He treated him for a full hour, had strict Covid guidelines, and dad had a better understanding about what was happening to his body. I am so very thankful for these people. In this time of uncertainty, you think the worst outcome possible. Dad was convinced he had one foot in the grave, and was discussing his burial wishes. I told him only the good die young, and he has plenty of years left! We have a little work to do to get him on the mend, but thanks to Dr. S and his extremely thorough exam....there will be many more visits with my family. When I checked in, I was told the doctor was running about an hour behind and that my appointment itself would take approximately two hours. I had already adjusted my work schedule to make this visit, and the two-hour appointment was never mentioned when I scheduled it. Given my schedule, I couldn't wait an extra hour just for the doctor to catch up. A courtesy call letting me know about the delay would have been appreciated. I ended up canceling and leaving. The waiting room was full, and several patients were also complaining about the wait. To be clear, I never met the doctor, so I can't comment on their care. However, based on cleanliness, communication, and punctuality, I was very disappointed.

The care team here is patient, kind, reliable, caring and understanding. The doctors accommodate my special needs by extending my appointment times to 30 minutes when needed. One experience especially stood out to me. I passed out at the reception area, and another patient immediately called for help. The nurse and nurse practitioner immediately came out, helped me onto an exam table, and stayed with me until I fully regained consciousness. They showed genuine concern for patients safety and well-being, and the nurse practitioner even escorted me out to the parking lot afterward. That level of compassion and attentiveness meant a lot to me. I have had very different experiences in the past at Charles B Wang Community Health Center, an Asian clinic, and that's one of the reasons I decided to move my care to NYU Langone. Here I feel safe, respected, supported and taken seriously as a patient. About 90% of the patients here are White, 2% Asian, 5% Hispanic, and 3% African American. Around 70% were born in the USA and came to the U.S. before age 12, 80% came from highly educated families, and 70% are financially well off. I am pleased with the quality of care here and feel comfortable coming here. Even though I am always the only Asian person here, I felt welcomed, safe, respected, and supported, especially as a person with a disability in that environment. As a person with a degree who values quality Healthcare, I highly recommend this NYU Langone facility.

The reason for my visit was for spasms in both my legs, ankles and feet. I spent an hour with Dr. Scopelliti and he did countless tests to discover issues that I had and some I did not know I had , balance being one of them.
