The Bartlett representative, Mark Shaw, gave a quote for six trees, but performed root collar extractions for only five (and then proceeded to initially claim all six were, in fact, completed until photographic evidence was sent). When we requested that the billed invoice be adjusted, the representative claimed that could not be done through the billing system but offered to come finish the job (as originally described). That was six days ago and the job has yet to be completed. The arborist did provide helpful information and treated our redbud and maple trees and we're hopeful that they will continue to give us plenty of enjoyment.

So I set up an appointment to have their "arborist" come out and look at the stumps. To his credit, the guy showed up on time as scheduled. After looking at the two stumps, he said it would be 300 dollars. Yes, three hundred dollars for two stumps that were not near any type of land scraping or utilities. The tree stumps in question were two that I had already ground down using Home Depot's rental. Unfortunately I had a lot of stumps to grind and didn't get those last two stumps ground down quite far enough. A full day rental is 279 at Home Depot. Also, I immediately found a guy who has a stump grinder who finished the job for 75 dollars (total). Never use a tree service company that can't even give you a price range.
