That is until I walked into Connolly Family Dentistry. I was extremely nervous as I came in for my deep cleaning. I remember saying a little prayer and asking for grace and my prayer was answered. Grace was the hygienist that worked on me and I couldn't have had a better experience. She is thoughtful, professional and Thorough. Best of all, it was a painless experience. Let me say that again. It was a painless experience. One of the best things about this practice is they treat people like old friends. You never feel neglected. The staff actually listens to you. Sit in the waiting room and watch. Every patient that walks in is greeted in a way not seen in most offices. You're greeted with a smile and a conversation. Something lost in some businesses. Look, I could sing the praises of Connolly Family Dentistry all day but, you won't really get it until you walk through the door. And, if your appointment is for 2pm, and you arrive early, you can crash their staff meeting like I did. If you do you'll understand why they're so great to their patients. Said dentist had no openings for a cleaning, so I decided to check if Dr. Lisko had anything available, which he did. I went to see him for a cleaning. He said his office is unwilling to see me and that he will officially release me after today's visit. He had the front desk get up the paperwork to release me- he made it very clear I am no longer welcome. It frustrates me that they willingly put me on the schedule to see him, only to have him dismiss me in that manner. This is a warning of sorts to current/future patients - just want to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. I'm hoping that their front office staff will only schedule people who the doctor will kindly see from now on. I wish I had just waited for my most recent dentist.

Mostly, this is due to the fact that I've had some pretty horrible dental experiences in my life. One dentist started filling the wrong tooth, and when she realized what she was doing, she didn't fix the problem, but instead just started filling the correct tooth. The next dentist I saw was dumbfounded by the job she'd done and said the tooth was beyond repair. Root canals are fun, people! I did have a wonderful childhood dentist, and my first filling - done 18 years ago - finally fell out. Sneaky little sucker! I didn't even realize it until one day I noticed a curious hole that I'd never seen before. Then a few days later, the sensitivity came. I knew something was seriously wrong if I couldn't tolerate liquids. Dr. Lisko came highly recommended, so I took my scared little self in to get my teeth the help they desperately needed. What I really appreciated was that Dr. Lisko was very honest from the start; he told me what my options were, what exactly was going on with my teeth (in terms someone who did not go to dental school could understand), and even put my x-ray up on a big screen so I could see where the issues were. Nothing's more fun than seeing your cavity that way! He was gentle and calm and gave very clear, specific instructions about post-care and follow-up. I was impressed with him and his staff for their competence and friendliness and for the overall good vibe of the office. I even scheduled myself to come back - voluntarily! - in a couple of months for a cleaning. That must mean something!

He couldn't remember names but was astonished his teeth were as clean as they were - without any bleeding during the process - unprecedented. I just came back from seeing the hygienist Sheila & Dr. Bunia & I too am ranting / raving what seem like the same experience. Turns out - was had the same duo : SHEILA & BUNIA! They are both so good at what they do, so incredibly nice, respectful...and my teeth are the cleanest they have ever been - without bleeding/ dread scheduling the next appointment. Jaclyn was great and explained everything to me. She pointed out things on my x-rays and took the time to ensure I understood everything. When Dr. Irving came in, she was very pleasant and explained in depth what she saw and told me that I didn't need a crown replaced that another dentist told me I needed replaced. (keep getting billed from a broken tooth done by the oral surgeon who is handling the situation- different office) (came to Dr Turners to fix the tooth) Like I said, I left the message two weeks ago with the front desk person. Instead of calling me back she sent me a letter (replying to my call) In this said letter, it stated that I didn't make the complaint (of my sons broken tooth) until 4 days after the procedure, which is not true. Procedure was done on a Thursday and I spoke with the surgeon on that Saturday when he was away. Surgeon called me back from his vacation! Instructed me to call my son's dentist to fix it and he would foot the bill. Called Dr Turners office that Monday and they got my son in that day to fix it but the bonding keeps coming off the tooth. After getting this letter yesterday, I called Dr Turners office and Cathy is off. Works Tues, Wed, Thurs. Then I called the surgeons office. He actually called me back today to further understand what Dr Turner's office is saying because none of what Cathy said happened at the oral surgeons office was true. Instead of calling me back, she made up information and made it out to be our fault when my son's tooth was broken during a procedure. At this point it's not about the copayment, it's about what's right. The last sentence of her letter states, "We consider this matter resolved and appreciate your understanding." Does not give me a chance to explain what actually happened. Moral of this text is to stsnd your ground. Your integrity is important. Cathy was not there at the time of surgery and is making up stories about the surgeons office. Also- still hasn't called me back. That's an unprofessional establishment, if you ask me. Not to sound dramatic but my son was the victim in this situation and Cathy and Dr Turner are making it look like I did not report this quick enough and who knows if his tooth really broke during surgery. And any further problems with the tooth is on me. When in fact the surgeon said it's not! The actual moral of this text is to return a patients phone call and all of this would have been avoided. She called the wrong people and took their word. Needless to say we will not be returning to Dr Turner Romanko.
