In October 20322 my wife and I purchased expensive hearing aids. The contract on page 3 stated, "... After the trial period a member is allowed up to 3 visits within the first year ... at no cost. ". We were told that this allowed us 3 free visits to tune up the hearing aids. In May of 2023 my wife and I want to have the hearing aids adjusted and checked. At the visit we were told there would be a charge. When we objected the audiologist stated that the phrase "visits within the first year" applied to Dec 31, 2022, the end of the calendar year of the purchase and not 12 months from transaction date. We then called the salesperson who did not call us back. According to Collins dictionary, Law Insider and other sources, the definition of this phrase "Within one year as used herein means the year preceding the date of occurrence of this transaction. The definition of year is "a period of 365 or 366 days." Based on their reaction I do not recommend this company to anyone looking for hearing aids. There are cheaper places where the service cannot be any worse than the Hearing Balance & Speech Center. Bruce P

Nonetheless, I left without a diagnosis. Before my appointment six months later, in talking with a relative, it seemed possible that I had a similar issue as my blood-relative and brought up the possibility during the appointment. Dr. Hecht cavalierly said it was not possible, but my next hearing test indicated the very same issue. It just makes me curious of whether I should have been diagnosed earlier and why he was so certain I would not have the same thing. Working with GT on hearing implements was also just ok. She certainly goes through the motions and has done this a million times, but I found it hard to interject with questions, and I sometimes felt rushed.
