Extremely unprofessional. Do not respond to phone calls or emails. Filed insurance incorrectly. My son underwent neuropsychological and educational testing. Test was administered by student instead of Dr.Katherine Baum, who signed off on his report. Report was delayed for months and then it was incoherent, filled with errors and unsubstantiated observations. My son was not helped in any way and no further attempts were made to rectify. Please don't waste your time with these fools. My first appointment was over $200 where the "dr" asked basic questions and prescribed a medication. I was asked to get an EKG and bloodwork. The EKG I did at my primary (additional appt cost and time off work). I took time off of work to get the blood work done. My pharmacy couldn't fill the prescription because the dr office didn't provide the correct documentation. The pharmacy called to dr numerous times with no avail. So they contacted me to see if I could get them to respond. I called and turns out they should have sent a "pre- authorization". So they send it over to the Pharmacy. In the mean time as this was now two weeks later the Dr rescheduled my follow up appt the day of the appointment (more time lost from work). All of this nonsense to find out that the medication she prescribed costs OVER $300 and does not have a generic option. I'm obviously not paying over $300 a month for one prescription. I've requested a different medication and have yet to hear back. These people are operating under the guise of mental health professionals. However, they clearly have zero concern for anyone's time, health or wellbeing. read more

I've been a patient at CMPS for over 4 years. I was under the wonderful care of Dr Elliot Richelson, amazing psychiatrist and human being. With that being said he retired at the end of last year. I have an extremely rare, neurodegenerative, fatal disease with no treatment. When diagnosed I was told by my neurologist he told me of Dr Richelson who put me on medication to manage the symptoms of this life destroying disease and for the first time in several years I felt pretty good. Unfortunately he retired at the end of 2022 and they they hand my case over to a PA named Elizabeth Handte. Our first telehealth appt went ok...she wrote my scripts with refills. Two weeks ago I had another appointment with her and my voice was very hard to understand (a very common symptom of cerebellar ataxia) and she accused me of being "high". I told her that a slurry or halting voice is common in people with MSA-C (another name for cerebellar ataxia) she actually said "What's MSA-C, I thought you had MSA?!?" So, I had to try and give her a lesson in the disease. You would think that when a fake doctor gets a case they could, I don't know, GOOGLE IT!! She said she would call me back stating that she wasn't aware that I lived with in NC and would have to check and call me back. She called back 3 hours later telling me she was calling in one refill and dropped me as a patient. I was dumbstruck!! She offered no alternatives. I cannot wean if these meds in 6 weeks and if I try I will die. I called her office, spoke with the receptionist and it appears she shared my personal info with probably everyone in the office. I'm even tried calling Dr R's office in Jax Beach but they never called me back. I will get through this because I am intelligent and resourceful unlike Elizabeth who is judgmental, ignorant and unkind, to say the least. I wouldn't take my dog to see this woman. I am making it my goal in the few years I have left to screw with her head like she is doing with mine (literally, that's where the ole grey matter is). 'Nuff said! read more

i have been trying to get an appointment with my dr for almost 2 months since they cancled my appointment on july 28th for an aug 18th appointment. i called back immediately after i listened to my voicemail but never heard back. i have continued to call and leave messages but still no one will answer or call back. i am due for med refills and i need to follow up. how they can run a drs office like this is beyond me. i am so friggen irritated i don't know where to start. i have emailed customer service but highly doubt i will get anywhere. i would not recommend this place. i really like my dr but can't stand the negligence of the office staff. read more

My doctor tried to refer me to Dr. Jordana Holden at this practice as I needed a psychiatrist who also had a background in neurology. Over the span of two weeks, I called this practice and left three messages with complete information trying to get an appointment. Of course I never got to speak to a human. They never even had the decency or common courtesy to give me a call back. How unprofessional can you get. If there is a reason, such as she isn't taking new patients or some other issue, I still deserved the 3 minutes of their time to call me back. Finding a psychiatrist with full neurology training is not easy. It makes me wonder about the professionalism of the entire practice. I would steer clear of them. read more

This group charged me a $100 missed appointment fee when I actually called in the day before and informed them I couldn't make the appointment. When I called to complain about the fee I was told their policy is there needed to be a 5 day cancellation, which is ridiculous. They then said that we always ask for a reschedule at the time of a cancellation. I didn't have the time to define a reschedule time as I had a family emergency at the time. Then I received a note saying that my counselor was moving away from the location. The Billing person was adamant that I had signed paperwork agreeing to their cancellation fee. Seriously? I was tested for 8 hours to get a diagnosis of ADHD. Those 8 hours cost me $2,343. That is a lot of money for 8 hours work, IMO. I called BC/BS and was told they paid '100%' to the tune of $1,030 which is funny because my credit card was charged $2,343 so I'm not sure what 100% means but I think I got ripped off. I called the company and told them about the charges but they deny $150 of it. I then get hung up on. It has occurred me to that if I hadn't called, the company would have kept my money. They have mouths to feed and bills to pay but so do I. They need to seriously overcharge somebody else... they picked the wrong person. read more

This place is the worst! How they are in business I seriously don't know! Called 5 times in a week and NO ONE calls back. The first 3 calls they sent me to a voicemail to leave all your information and then nothing! Then I called back and hit 0 and Crystal took all my information to email someone to call and AGAIN nothing! So I call back again 2 days later and she didn't know what to say except maybe the Dr. Isn't seeing new patients? Ummm so you don't have common courtesy to call someone back and say so? She again took my information to pass it on to the same girl to call me back and again NOTHING! I wouldn't trust these people with my health or anyone else's! I have to say that the doctor staff is fantastic, however, if you have an emergency or sickness happen and cannot make your appointment and call them and tell them you are home sick, they will still charge you a $100.00 no show fee. I wasn't even able to get past the new patient intake desk. I called to make an appointment and was transferred to a voicemail. The voicemail message said to go online and register. I went online and submitted my name and phone number. No one called back. Two weeks later, I called again. Got voicemail. Called back to speak with the operator. She transferred me to someone that could make an appointment. The woman that I spoke with took all of my information, including my insurance information, but wouldn't give me an appointment because I would be a cash customer (I don't have a deductible). She was absolutely adamant that she had to have a credit card from me so that they could charge me $100 in case I cancelled within 5 days of the appointment. I couldn't believe I heard her right. You don't take patients that have full coverage insurance? As odd as that sounds, they confirmed that was true. Very unprofessional. Honestly would not recommend if you're seriously trying to get help with your mental health. The drs. Only talk about themselves vs listening to understand what you're havinh difficulty with. Now on the billing side they completely out for your money. i tried them during the pandemic 10/2020-12/2020 my first visit in oct. was a telehealth visit and was supposed to be completely free through my insurance. but I was charged a copay because they billed me as a in office visit. asked them to rectify it they said ok. (I've had multiple visits afterward all free of charged because of telehealth except the first one billed improperly) NOW in March I still don't have the refund for the first one after multiple calls since OCTOBER. I'm Already losing my mind and now they add losing my money with that 0/10 do not recommend. read more

This practice is unyielding if you must cancel an appointment. Be prepared to fork over at least $100 if you cancel. And these are mental health providers! Do not go to this practice I had to reschedule an appointment and they charged me $100 after I've been going there for years. I rescheduled because I could not afford the co-pay that week and I asked to reschedule when I got paid later that week. If I couldn't afford the co-pay how can I afford the $100. I never authorized them to use my debit card and I'm fact when I first did my registration years ago I didn't even have the debit card they used to charge me $100. When I disputed it with my bank comprehensive medpsych sent them my original registration papers that were old and outdated with a different policy. I begged and pleaded through billing and administration to please give me my money back and they would not have even went as far as the owner who did care about my situation that this hundred dollars caused me a hardship. Plus I don't know how they got a hold of my debit card but I cannot prove it to my bank. Stay away from this practice some of the doctors are good it's not that it's the office policies and no one cares. My son has had problems for many years (ADHD/ODD) so I am very familiar with how a psychiatrist is supposed to operate- after the psychiatrist we liked left with no prior notice to us we were assigned to an incompetent doctor who knew nothing of child psychiatry and did not even talk to my son when we met with him - we asked for a new doctor and when we met with him he told us he could not help us. I still need to call them constantly and get a different explanation every time. The person at the front desk on the second floor at the Sarasota location is useless,she will mumble things around or not pay attention to what you ask, definitely the WRONG person to be there. I have had to close one of my Credit Cards because they just billed whatever amount they wanted whenever they wanted - even after I told them in writing not to and paid my bill with a debit card or check. First, I want to say that I am not one of those parents that think that a quick diagnosis and psychotropic medication will solve everything. NO. If there is a holistic approach that may work, then I am all for it. However here is my story for Comprehensive MedPsych. My 8 year old daughter was tested two years ago because her teachers, school counselor and also friends and family (and of course myself and my husband who is a family physician) felt that she may be ADD or ADHD. After 8 hours of testing and $3250 later we were told she had Anxiety. We swallowed that information and walked away thinking that we, along with everyone else who knows our daughter must be wrong. We also walked away wondering if the psychologist tester and her colleague were at all attuned with our daughter during testing - we think not .. AT ALL. So we continued to treat her as an anxiety patient through 'play therapy.' After about a couple of months of that we still didn't see any improvement in house and school work. Her focus was not there. We thought that maybe she'll 'grow out of it.' Fast forward to present day, two years later. Daughter is now in a different/private school and the new people in her life also saw something throughout her first year there that didn't sit right with them throughout the school day and school year. So, we got her tested again with a different company. After 3 hours and $1000 later, she was definitely diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD. She was put on anxiety and ADHD medication about a month ago and I cannot tell you how much more FOCUS she has, that everyone around her now can see a huge difference at home AND at school!! Do your homework and research FIRST before letting CMP website glaze your eyes over and make you think how great they really are. read more

This office is horrible. Signed in and waited over 30 minutes my first appointment, not the end of the world. Next appointment signed in, waited another 30 minutes, though to hell with this, the office is empty, and went to the window to see what was up. They never entered me in their system as there. And then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not speaking sooner! I greeted them when I entered the office, made small talk while I wrote down my name, appointment time and time I was there, and then sat down in the literally empty waiting room. What did you think I was sitting there for? New problems, I have gone a week without medication. I get things are crazy because of Covid, but that should not affect something that was already relatively automated to begin with. I called a two weeks ago to let them know I needed and an appointment and was advised they couldn't issue a refill without seeing me, even for rx that weren't controlled substances. So we made an appointment for May 12. I asked if they could call in a rx for a few days to cover me between then and the appointment. Was told yes, but it would be expensive, said I didn't really have a choice, as I need to take my medication. Whelp, guess what, they never called it in. Had my appointment on 12, Dr. advised would call in the usual refill on all my rx and thought okay great, I'll go pick them up and hopefully won't feel the effects as I was only missing a few days at that point. Whelp, guess what? Again, my rx wasn't called in. It wasn't there the 12, 13, or 14. I was trying to be patient considering everything that is going on but got fed up today. I called and had to leave a voicemail. after five hours and no call back, I called again. The receptionist/assistant/whoever was very rude, told me she had 72 hours to process my request and I would just to have wait. Also, she acknowledge that she heard my voicemail and just didn't bother to call me back because, again she had 72 hours. I asked about what happened, why it wasn't called in and I got another answer of "I have 72 hours to process your request". Thinking maybe she was confused, that this was somehow a new request, I clarified I had just had a telehealth appointment with my Dr. and he said he would call them. You guessed it, again, 72 hours. I asked can you please check my chart and see if there was any information about calling in the rx, like did it maybe go to the wrong pharmacy, or somehow the wrong patient name/birthday was called in, and again 72 hours. I hate hanging up on people, I think it is so rude and childish, but for this woman's sake I just hung up on her instead of the string of expletives I was now ready to unleash in response to incompetence and refusal to provide any sort of assistance. DO NOT GO HERE. It is the antithesis of a mental health provider. Its as if they assume they are somehow better than you, or that you don't matter, and they behave as such. Sure, counselors are great, but this company charges random amounts to your credit card. It does not return calls--even to my insurance! For a place that offers mental health services, this is one stressful company. If you choose to use--and again, the counselor was good--PAY WITH CASH. I went to Comprehensive MedPsych. for Neuropsych. testing after a car accident because I was having real problems with memory and concentration. I had been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome by my Primary Care Physician and a Neurologist. Dr. Bercaw treated me like I was a fraud and a malingerer. Comments from his final report were both insulting and untrue. Unfortunately, he did not tell me about these false statements during our meeting to review the Report, so I discovered them after I left the office and had the chance to review it. I was referred for counseling there, and made the mistake of going. Dr. Parsons also treated me poorly. She minimized my discomfort and seemed to intimate that I was seeking some benefit from my health issues from the accident. She was the least compassionate provider I have ever seen. I was legitimately injured and still deal with physical ramifications from the accident. I didn't benefit from the accident financially- I was genuinely seeking treatment and support, but received the opposite. I would NEVER use them again and would NEVER recommend them to anyone!! read more
