For cataracts there are quite a few tests you must endure and everyone I encountered was happy to answer my inane questions (I nervous talk and ask dumb things just to fill the silence). Dr. Ireland could see how disappointed I was that the fancy Ferrari lenses would not work for me due to potential overlap with my LASIK scars being a hindrance rather than a help. She was able to offer a solution with a mid-range lens (neither far, nor near optimized, but mid-range vision like a computer screen). Because most of my work is done on a computer this was a good compromise. The wait after having eyes dilated is a bit longer. Bring something to occupy your time and you'll be fine. Or take a nap. At the time I had mine done I wasn't in my 50s, yet, and it was delightful to hear the other patients say, "but you're so young!" :D If you ever want to hear you're young, get arthritis and have cataracts before age 50, lol. Billing went smoothly. No issues there. I did have to pay a little extra for my Land Rover lenses versus the Corolla version. Be sure to ask more questions. I think I would have been fine with the Corolla (these are my layperson terms, not medical terms) and I should have inquired deeper, but as my mom still lives and breathes so too does she push for the "best" for me. Sometimes you have to ignore Mom, y'all. I'm not unhappy, but I will forever wonder if Corolla would have served me well. Aftercare was flawless. I am Well behind on my appointments due to life events (we all have Those things happen, right?). I'm looking forward to seeing the office staff at the Brownwood office and following up with Dr. Causey. Not only is he professional, but he's kind and happy to explain and listen to what's going on with your orbs. And yes, he also endures my inane questions.

There was a lack of communication from her office. They have a call center in Tarpon Springs that is out to lunch. The billing department sends you a unknown bill. Dr Wilker and Dr Panzo are the best!…read more Dr Wilker restored my sight after I developed a macular hole! I was unable to see clearly out of my left eye. Dr Wilker repaired it and restored my sight in that eye to 20/25. Dr Panzo removed cataracts from both of my eyes and all went well. Recovery was a breeze. I am a happy camper !!!

The staff there are also efficient, knowledge, affable, and courteous. Almost 8 years ago, my optometrist, Dr Collins at Peepers, discovered I had a tear in my OD retina. He said he could refer me to a great retina specialist. He was going to refer me to Dr Mavrofrides at FRI! I called FRI. The receptionist scheduled a same-day appt with Dr Cunningham, because my regular, retina specialist/ ophthalmologist, Dr Mavrofrides wasn't in. Dr Cunningham did an excellent job sealing my retina in place with laser surgery and without any anesthesia. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, BOTH, DRs Mavrofrides and Cunningham and THE FLORIDA RETINA INSTITUTE.

However, medical (and all other service) providers should and must as a matter of courtesy and respect, in their offices, call and address people by the names they use and prefer. This Lake Eye Associates group of offices has for over a prolonged period failed/fails to annotate its patient charts with patients preferred names, in order to address patients by their preferred names. If service providers, ;such as this one, don't honor and respect patient desires in this small way, what else will they choose to neglect? This is a poor office practice that reulted/resutls in a poor office experience.
