New customers have to pay attention when booking. You have to follow directions on his website and he doesn't do walk-ins. I've witnessed a few complaints about how particular he is with regard to this, but he is a one man operation and the time he spends on administrative items, like a new customer not able to follow his directions, is less time taking care of his customers. He has lots of classic grooming supplies and also makes some custom one's as well. I love his products and use them almost exclusively. TLDR: follow his instructions. Be on time. You'll get a great haircut and a fantastic experience. After a few years, he is not just my barber, but a friend. This is after I goofed up his instructions a few times. Love this place. I figured, lets put him in the chair first. This was my son's first haircut with dad. A guys day out. But maybe this should be a mommy chore. My first impression of the shop was how clean, white, and new everything looked. It exceeds what I would suspect from a barber shop. Somewhat of a cross between a salon and barber look with seats lined up against the wall in a row, yet, there are magazines and color book laying near crayons. This was perfect for my situation. So, my boy went into the big boy chair. The stylist was more than happy to cut his hair. She traded friendly and understanding banter with him. He responded well to him. I asked her to style and spike his hair which she did. He looked like a little rocker. As for me, I just got my normal boring haircut and she did a good job at that. Not that there is much hair left up there. But, an experience like this makes me want to hold onto it for a year or two more so that I can take my boy for a haircut. I spent a few dollars and…read moredowned a few pints at the Rusty Rail in Mifflinburg where I happened upon a couple of gentlemen that recommended Ziegler's Barber Shop. I have been shaving my head since 2005 and this was only the second time I have been in the barber's chair since that time. The site said, by appointment only, so I swung by to see when I could get my spot at the shop. They let me know they were not very busy that day and if I waited for the current customer and another they could get me in. I sat down, grabbed a magazine, pet a cat or two that wandered by me and waited. Within 30 minutes my mohawked head was getting the royal treatment and I am very happy with the results. Granted I wanted a straight edge shave but no such luck. However, this is the old school barber I grew up with and if you are in the area and needing a trim it is well worth it.
