I've seen some harsh reviews of this shop. I've gone there for for or five years. I've gotten good and reasonable service. My problems have been resolved without breaking me. I had a horribly annoying virus that hit me last night. I took the laptop there this morning. Worst place ever. It has horrible prices and customer service. The owner is a jerk and gets mad when you point out the obvious scams. STAY AWAY at all costs... avoid it like the plague !!!! Needed to take the computer in for repairs and I regret setting foot in the place. Like every other 1 star review on here, I agree with them completely. The building is trash. It reminds me most of a junkyard. There's absolutely NO ESD protection on any workbench. At every step of the repair, he did all he could to convince me I needed additional repair actions outside of the "bench" service... I had a bad Motherboard, a bad hard drive... on and on. The worst part of this horrible experience was watching him work... it took way too long because of all the interruptions, visitors, etc. I'm certain if I had left it there, he would have cashed out on all those imaginary problems that he found. Just pay to reactivate your warranty if you need to... it would be cheaper! If you can't smell SCAM as soon as you walk inside, get your nose checked, cause it's pretty obvious in that place. Went in to get computer fixed, I thought it was a virus , he told me I need a new hard drive , I said fine ,table fee 45.00, harddrive 69.00 and 150.00 to put windows 10 back on it, I said fine . Over the years I have always gone to this store for my computer problems and purchases. I regret to write that I will find a new place to go to for my future repairs and computer purchases. It is not because of the services. The services have always been great. I will not return to this business because of one employee. This employee went on a yelling and screaming tirade. The employee was watching the news on one of the computers loud enough for me to hear it in the store. I said that I did not know about Biden being president. The employee jumped up and started with a anti Trump tirade, screaming at me for a full five minutes. Then there was a pause and it continued for an additional five minutes. I asked this employee to stop screaming at me. The employee continued screaming. Yelling and screaming at a customer (me) that I needed to change my opinion so that it is the "right one". Computer Dreams has been my go-to computing place for 18 years now. I have always gotten great service and a good deal.

So the building looks like crap, the inside is a mess, parts everywhere, unorganized. They tell me if i produce music, i need at least 32GB of RAM.. I can make a song off of 2-3GB if i had to. I would've understood if they said 8GB. The old guy was basically yelling at me and said "SEE THAT COMPUTER UP THERE?? IT HAS 64GB OF RAM!!" ...overkill much? Critisized me of my "research" as the mean lady used her fingers to make quotations. read more

Stop- Computer Dreams is a Nightmare!! Don't take any electronics to this place- they are a straightup scam, I took my laptop to them to fix or replace the flickering Dell screen and paid $50.00, of the 200.00 he said it would take, the owner immediately trys to upsale you on another customers garbage used computers- the owner uses a lot of tech wording mumbo jumbo which he knows you wont understand, and quite frankly im not sure he makes any sense to himself - I dropped my Laptop off in April 2018 and 6 months later and my 20 calls I made to followup, and excuses from the owner, still not fixed. claiming the place they sent my laptop to fix?? was running tests and more tech mumbo jumbo etc.. Finally I demanded my laptop as is, and now it will not even powerup at all- ( I suspect he parted out my laptop to fix others) This guys whole business model is predicated on pure fraud, with no real intentions of fixing anything- its just a used computer sales hustle Sham on them, Now they are trying to Fix Phones because everyone knows they are crooks.. I brought my sons IPhone in for a screen replacement. Not only did Jeff fix my sons phone, but he also fixed mine. I described how my phone was acting to Jeff, while he replaced my sons screen. Jeff asked to take a look at my phone and told me my battery was on the verge of exploding. Since Jeff replaced my battery I have had zero issues with my phone. read more

Absolutely amazing place!! One of the few remaining stores of its kind where you can just walk in and get what you need. They're kind and know what they're doing in regards to computer parts and computer issues for machines as new as last year to machines as old as the 486 DOS machines of the 1990s. I cannot recommend this place more! I highly recommend stopping by when you need a part or need an issue resolved! I brought in my computer because the USB ports were intermittently turning off and I'd already done everything I could think of to diagnose the problem. They immediately located the issue (a weak/faulty power supply) and discussed several different options for rebuilding my computer with better specs and a more reliable power supply. While copying my hard drive over, they also found and corrected a problem that had been present since I ordered the computer from Newegg. Now I have a much better machine, a solid state drive with all of my pre-existing stuff copied to it and still 100% functional, and my original hard drive is also there as secondary storage. I brought it in right around the end of the work day and had it back by midafternoon the next day, and I didn't have to deal with all the unnecessary sales pitches I would've gotten if I'd gone to Staples or Best Buy. If I need repairs in the future this is where I'll be going. read more

I went to this shop because my usual repair place had gone out of business or moved. What a mistake. I needed my Disk drive replaced and my Windows operating system repaired or reloaded. They charged me a $100 install fee and another $50 "Save data fee". While I understand the charge for the labor to do the software install and R/R the disk drive, I feel the "save data" charge was unnecessary. I have never had to remove and restore data on the hard drive whenever Windows was re-installed. Additionally they replaced my top-of-the-line security software with a generic program called Microsoft Security Essential. I would have been fine with this if I did not already have anti-virus software I paid good money for. To unilaterally place this on my system without consulting me was unprofessional and not in line with good customer service. Stay away...prices too high and rather mediocre customer care. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping in today to ask about a problem. Thankfully, I was assured that the issue I was dealing with was a scam and she told me how to fix it myself!!!! She was so very kind, great sense of humor and helpful. I went home, sure enough, that was the problem, and Computer Dreams saved me the 200.00 that the scammer said I had to pay. I am a DJ looking to build a computer. I went in and said that and I have $100 for some parts. They said a motherboard is at least $250. But they want to sell me a whole computer for $200. I want 4-6GB Memory MAX. They tried to say that I will have a crappy computer if I don't get at least 16GB. We argued for 20-30 minutes on how I do or don't need a AMD Phenom II, or 16GB of memory. I have been doing the same thing for 4 years. They did not work with me at all. I really would like some sort of apology on this bad behavior and selling tactic. I would much rather spend retail at Best Buy than try to work with these people at all. I do not recommend this to any beginner service wise, and with they way they have things laying around and unorganized, I would not want to buy anything from them at all. read more
