So my visit here was very pleasant . He went above and beyond to fix my phone . the problem with my phone was i had to update my iPhone to ios10 and when i updated it my phone went black mind you my phone was already in bad condition such as broken screen and no home button but my phone still worked perfect , anyways when i did the update my phone screen turned completely black . when i pressed the on button on my iPhone the apple would pop up then my screen would go black repeatedly . there was not a way i could have done a hard restart or put my phone in recovery mode since i didn't have a home button. he tried everything to make my phone work such as checking to see if it was certain parts in my iPhone that did not work . finally he was able to get my phone to work . he even stayed later then his closing hours to make my phone work . My iPhone 5 has been in the worst shape for months and I've been putting it off in getting it fixed. My phone fell out of my pocket and of course the screen was cracked but I'm still able to use it. Then it got progressively worse from there on and some pieces of the screen has fallen and gone. Then housing of the screen started lifting up. Had no clue that the battery will be an issue too. So, when I finally brought my phone to Bassem thats when i found out that besides the screen being replaced I had to replace the battery as well because it has swelled up which pushed up the screen as well. I came there about two hours before closing time. There was one other person before me so I told him I'll just come back before he closes and he said that will be perfect and when I came back 20 minutes before closing time my phone was done and felt like a new phone again. I had to pay for the battery replacement as well so i wasn't shocked by what i had to pay for. I highly recommend him and he is a really nice guy and very laid back and accomodating. read more

Nice guy, but he dropped the ball on me. He has an accent that's kinda hard to understand at times. I had a very unusual and intermittent problem with an out of warranty laptop. I spent hours researching the problem myself and narrowed it down to about a few simple but unusual steps to fix it. I clearly laid all this out in writing what I had learned and had listed the only three things that people had done to fix the problem. I also gave him links to the information that I had learned from so he could see my sources. He said he would read the info I gave him. He kept it for four days and when I finally called, he said he didn't want to do any of the fixes because he didn't feel comfortable and the laptop was working just fine at the moment. This laptop out of warranty and totally unusable at the time with an intermittent problem. The fixes were easy and reversible if necessary. So he did nothing for those four days. It just sat there. There are things that I told him over and over and over that he just didn't get or understand. It's like I was talking to him for the first time all over again. I did all the ground work for him. He just had to read the simple things I had listed and just do it. It would have been cheap and easy. I just dont get it! Sorry, he just really wasted my time, and seemed not to understand anything I said or wrote to him. read more

I got a Yelp account just to give Bassem some positive pub. My Macbook crashed during the middle of a OS upgrade. Didn't want to deal with the Apple store and the so-called "Genius" bar, so I started combing the "internets" for an alternative. Just so happens that I pass Computers Corner every day on my commute, so I pop in and tell Bassem my problem. I also wanted a RAM upgrade. He gave me a very fair quote and said turn around would be a couple of days. He called me the NEXT MORNING and said it was ready to pick up. My MacBook now runs better than it did when I bought it. Very good at what he does, my laptop, MSI's, Fan went out which was causing it to overheat. He took a look at it and tried to fix it but it was not fixable and fried the battery. He ordered me a new fan and had it there 2 days and got the new fan and replaced it! I took it back until the battery came in. Took it back it took him only a few moments to put the battery in. Make sure to ask what he's going to charge before even stepping in store. Walked in shop to get laptop checked, and without giving me a quote or anything for diagnostics he began checking my laptop. After 5 minutes of diagnostic he said I need to do simple software update and wanted $100 for a window 10 upgrade which was free online. He ended up charging me $40 for stupid 5 minute diagnostics. Went home and upgraded to window 10 for free and it solved the issue with my laptop. Part of me feels stupid for getting my laptop checked for a simple issue, but the guy is an actual scam for charging me $40 without telling me the price upfront before he started working on my laptop. 99% of most computer repair shops do FREE diagnostics and only charge if they find something major/wrong. This guy charged ridiculous amount for no reason. read more

On Friday, my daughter buckled my grandson into his car seat, but she left his iPad on the car roof. This didn't become known until she was on the freeway and tapped the brakes. The iPad flew across two lanes and pieces of the iPad and protective otterBox case went flying everywhere. The California Highway Patrol was called and they found it. To our surprise when she went to their offices to pick it up the glass was shattered but it was actually working ! On Saturday I called around everywhere to try to get the glass fixed, and I found this place. Said he was closing in an hour but I could drop it off, as he had some other orders ahead of me, when I told him my three-year-old grandson was crying nonstop, he said bring it in right away and I'll stay and I'll fix it for you. Once he got it apart and took out the broken glass he found that one of the corners was dented and had to be fixed with pliers before the new glass would fit. Well I'm standing there waiting for the glue to set. Another older lady and her husband come in, obviously not computer literate, with an iPad problem. It's the original iPad and it won't come on. He could take them to the cleaners. Instead he asked him a bunch of questions, figures out that it just needs to be reset, does that for them and shows them how to do it themselves if they ever have to reset it again. They want to pay him but he refuses and tells them to "bring it back when they have a real problem". Just wanted to charge me the regular price of $99 to fix the iPad glass. Offered him a tip and he wouldn't take it, had to had to offer it three times and force him before he would take the tip. Classy and trustworthy guy, Bassem is, with integrity and honesty to a fault, would definitely take my stuff to him if it ever breaks again. PS - hard to find, pretend you're standing in front of Applebee's restaurant and look across the street, you can see his shop from there, on the back side of the mall. PSS - don't be put off by the 2 bad reviews, the guy and his store are weird and even dumpy looking and the customers that came in while I was there were weirder still. He is one of those old school engineer guys, who look dumb and awkward, but can fix anything. Notice he gave back $80 of the $99 bucks he charged the first girl who gave the first bad rating. The second bad rating - the girl never used his service, she just didn't like the look of him or the store and left. I laughed because I totally believe her and can see that happening, His store definitely looks like the opposite of the Apple Store in Walnut Creek that's for sure. WARNING - If you like to shop at Neiman Marcus, this store and this guy will freak you out. But if you want to guy who will save your ass and save your data when you think your iPad or computer just died ... and will stay late after closing time and do it all for a fair price, then this is the place and this is the guy for you. read more

Owner is really sweet and was very helpful. I went in to get my 2009 MacBook Pro fixed since it was not turning on. He was really patient and tried multiple ways for it to turn on. He was able to get it to turn on and backup ALL of my data. Prices were very reasonable and he made sure I was satisfied with everything. He was able to look at my laptop right away and I even sat with him through the whole process (as we watched and discussed the WorldCup) and he was overall a great guy, he was easy to communicate with and explained everything to me that went wrong and answered all of my unnecessary questions. We also talked about other stuff and I mean it when I say he's a great and sweet guy. He spent quite a while working on my laptop and still offered me a reasonable rate. He goes out of his way for his customers and really makes sure you leave satisfied.
