We had to chase down the owner to get our son's iPad back. It was several weeks of promising that there was a wait on parts that were ordered and then weeks for it to be fixed. Lack of response to multiple phone calls to check if our son's iPad was fixed was extremely frustrating. My husband finally saw him face to face and after expressing upset feelings, the owner promised to fix it by the next day. I write this as a serious warning to others. I previously had Mohammad look at my desktop as I suffered a power surge on 9/14/24. I paid him and he fixed my desktop right up. I received it back after I paid him and I trusted him. When I received my desktop back, I asked him if he could look at my hard drive which also suffered damage. I wanted to see if he could fix it. He texted me that he had the parts needed to fix it. That message was sent to me in October of 2024. I've heard absolutely nothing about it since. I was so fed up I threatened to send a police report. At this point, I did because I want my hard drive back. It is now January of 2025 and I still have not heard anything. Owner has had 5 TVs from my company for several months. Does not answer the phone, and doesn't return phone calls, and I've had no follow up except when I go in. Every time I have he says he's still waiting for the parts. The shop is a complete mess, and stinks. He is nice but is in too deep at this point. I took my TV there 1year ago 7/2020. The gentleman told me give him a week and he would check it out. I waited 2 Weeks since I wasn't able to get him over the phone. I came to the shop and he told me he ordered the part, and it would be ready in a few weeks. I came back in two weeks and he said the part had not come. He assured me the TV would be ready in another week. Now I'm like ok maybe he's just overwhelmed. My 55" Sony mysteriously stopped working, so after trying every conceivable way to start it, I took off the back panel just to see if there was anything obviously wrong (like a burned part, whatever). Nothing amiss. So I took it to Mohammed and paid my $20, his estimation fee, and he called me the next day and said "It's working." Apparently my touch wasn't as sensitive as his! My wife's electric folding mobility chair had a broken wire in the plug to one of the wheel motors. There was no power in the joystick control as a result. Chair and scooter companies do not offer specific repairs like this and want you to purchase all the components ( new joystick/wiring). Mo soldered the broken wire and checked the joystick innards. My mom's 55" Samsung HDTV suddenly stopped turning on after only 4 years. We went to Costco and bought a 50" LG HDTV, which she decided she didn't like, as the picture wasn't as clear, color vibrant, and the feet were wobbly. So I took a chance on taking the Samsung to Old Towne Electronics. The deposit fee was very reasonable, and the callback for diagnostics and total cost for repair was half of what we paid for the new LG. It took about 2 weeks for the parts and repair, but the TV is back, and better than ever! And we returned the LG back to Costco. The repair technician is very efficient and courteous, and practices safe social distancing and wearing a mask. This is my go to from now on for electronics repair. read more

A bit pricey though cause it's apple and new edition. Also waited about 4 days because he had to order the screen but other than that it was good as new when I got it back. Hired Mohammed to fix the back light on a 50" television about a month ago. He came by same day to pick it up, gave us a very fair, reasonable estimate, and informed me that he would drop it off the next day. That was wonderful. The television worked for about two weeks.... And the light went out again. Oh dear. We called him to fix the issue as the work he had done for us was under warranty. Getting a hold of him was difficult--the voicemail to his shop was full and nobody answered the line. Thankfully I had his cell number from the last pickup, so I reached him that way to have the tv serviced again. Said he would be by around 6-8 to pick it up. Come 8:45 and nothing--so I called again. He came by shortly after, and informed us that this time we would have the tv back in two days. I didn't hear from him for a week and I had to call his shop (full voicemail) and then left another message on his cell to which he returned the next day. He was very courteous, polite, and professional. The cost for his work is very reasonable. However his lack of communication is somewhat alarming and I had to do some chasing down to get status updates, which is especially nerve wracking when the product is not ready when promised. It made me overall hesitant and nervous about the quality of his service. I will update my review once the tv is returned to let you know the quality of his work. read more

He fixed it over night, even though he had to change the color of the phone from black to white, he even gave a me a nice case for it at no charge. His price was very reasonable (I called many places asking about price, his by far was the best) even though I couldn't reach the store until 8 on a Sunday, he made himself available being that I was visiting from Sacramento. I was looking for a shop to help with my 67" Samsung DLP.. My set was constantly shutting down and while replacing the color wheel a ribbon connection had broken loose..Mohd was able to fix and reinforce the plug.. I took a very unusual electronic healing device to him and he was able to understand it and check it out. He replaced a tny part he found that was not working. He found the part in his shop. Don't be put off by his shop which is filled with all kinds of electronic things - floor to ceiling. That means he has lots of parts on site. In 2002 we bought a Gateway Flat Screen TV, which was pretty cutting edge at the time. A few years later however, Gateway got out of the TV business and went back to computers. In 2010 the TV abruptly stopped working and we couldn't find anyone at Gateway who could help us since they had stopped supporting their TV's. We discovered Old Towne Electronics in the Yellow Pages and they went above-and-beyond to help us. After picking up our TV, the owners at Old Towne did extensive research and tracked down a company in upstate New York that purchased all of Gateway's old TV spare parts. With this information, they were able to source the part that our TV needed and made the repair. About a year later something else went out and again Old Towne was able to get it back and running and spared us the expense of having to buy a new TV. Old Towne's prices were very reasonable considering the extra work they put in. Eventually the Gateway died of "old age" and we since bought another TV, but Old Towne easily extended its life by a good couple of years. read more

I just wanted to post a review from my 1st visit to Old Town Electronics. Last week I went there, having an issue with my Onkyo sub woofer. I had broken the connector for my RC Jack and it was stuck inside the Jack itself.. Mohamed to a look at it and it was repaired the same day. We have a very old Mitsubishi 60" projection television television that Old Towne has repaired twice; once in 2008 when the blue conversion went out and the other when the red conversion went out on Nov. 1, 2010, just before the World Series game. Both times they repaired the television quickly, efficiently and economically. It seemed odd now days having a television technician that could do more than unplug modules and wait for parts. We were able to watch the game on a 32" TV until the 5th inning. But I was amazed when he had the repair completed by the 5th inning and we were able to watch the remainder of the game on the 60". WAY TO GO GIANTS; WAY TO GO OLD TOWNE! On both services (2008 and 2010), I would have rated them greater than 5. read more
