Computerwisekids have wonderful programs for kids and they also provide private tutoring for programming. This place has a game zone area where kids can play before their class begins.They also have summer camps which is so fun. Summer camps with computer lessons, sports and craft time. Excellent programs that prepare your child for tomorrow's workforce. They have all the latest technologies- Scratch, python, Javascript,App Inventor, Minecraft, Animations, Robotics that offer all the skills of computer science. If your child loves computers and want to learn more new skills I would say this is the place. Must try!!! read more

My 7 and 9 year olds tried the Minecraft and robotics camp this summer and LOVED it- this is such a hidden gem, and a great alternative to all the sports and outdoor activities most other camps offer. We will absolutely be signing up again next summer! read more

My son has attended three camps here and I intend to sign him up for spring camp this year as well. He loves the program and this location. All instructors are really nice. They make computer science a fun adventure for the kids. The camps also include time to play outside and crafts. I continue to choose Computerwisekids' camps because each time my son has fun while learning important skills in a safe and welcoming environment. read more

I feel horrible to leave a bad review because the teacher, Mr Sean is very nice, but I just had a terrible experience with ComputerWiseKids. I signed my 6yr old son up for an online virtual computer class and it ended with my son leaving the class early in tears. The class size was way too big to handle well on Zoom. It was disorganized and we experienced technical difficulties, which was understandable, however they never offered to make up for the lost time or switch us to personal assistant in a breakout session to help my son catch up. By the time they helped to fix my son's technical issues, it was already 1.5hrs later (the class is only 2hr long) and the class had already moved on and he was completely lost. He kept trying to ask questions in the chat window but they completely ignored him while he waved his hands wildly to ask to be unmuted (it is understandable they missed his wild gestures and hand-raising given the huge class size). He is only just finishing Kindergarten so he does not have the writing skills to ask complicated questions in the chat window. I called the center to talk to them because they were not answering my son in the chat window and it was only then (with 10 minutes of class time remaining) they said they would put him in a separate breakout room to help him catch up, however by this time, he was already frustrated and crying because the class had advanced so quickly without him and he was completely lost. I felt so bad for him because we usually limit his screen time and so he had been looking forward to this camp for months. I wanted to write this review because I think they can improve their business by making smaller class sizes and also offering a class for novice computer users. When I signed him up for this class the lady (Karen?) told me they would separate into smaller groups by skill level, but that was not the case. He was in the same class as kids who were 5yrs older than him and they were completely versed in computer coding language. The teacher kept saying, I'm sorry I know this is review for most of you, and he would just progress quickly past many steps because he assumed all the kids already knew how to perform the basic coding. This was the first time my son has ever used Minecraft so he shouldn't be put in a class with kids who have played it every day for 4 years! It also would help if they had a separate session a few days in advance to walk through each step in the game to ensure all parts of the game are loading correctly for each user. There were only a few kids who had technical issues and maybe that's because we were using a MacBook instead of a PC, however we found the whole experience to be completely inadequate for novice computer learners. The teacher, Mr Sean was very nice, and it's not his fault the class was overly crowded and I understand he could not hold up the advanced learners in the class for one novice student. It is the fault of the owner who designed a class that combines novices with advanced coders. It was way too advanced for a novice computer learner fresh out of Kindergarten who cannot effectively use the chat window and does not have extensive computer language skills. they should have made it clear on the phone that this class would not work well for a novice student. I paid $150 per week for a 2hr class and my son left feeling helpless and frustrated. We use our own internet and computers and the teacher just lectures instead of giving personal attention because he has too many students to offer any personal attention. I'm sure it would be fine if they were in an actual class setting where the teacher could see my son physically raise his hand when he gets lost, however in Zoom it is impossible to keep up with 22 students when they are all of different skill levels. Even with 1 teacher and 2 assistants, they couldn't keep up with all the questions in the chat window. I hope they will work the kinks out of their classes because I still would like my son to learn coding however this virtual zoom class was a complete disaster for us. I hope to find another company that is better prepared to deal with virtual classes. We attend virtual zoom Kumon and that has worked out very well and is very organized with breakout rooms for different skill levels. So we know it is possible to have a successful Zoom class. This was just not one of the successes. You would think a computer learning center would be more adept at leading a virtual class than a Kumon center! I will have to look for another computer class that can offer more personal attention. Unfortunately, Computer Wise Kids is not the right place for my son to learn. read more

My daughter has been attending the Minecraft tournament computer classes here for about a month now and we couldn't be happier! Prior to finding out about this place, we were looking for an outlet for my daughter to share her love of all things Minecraft and computers and where she can connect with other kids that shared that interest as well. This has been the one after school activity she looks forward to the most every week. We are even going to enroll her in the summer program. Aside from the program itself, the facility is really nice with a waiting area equipped with gaming systems and a retro arcade game for parents and younger siblings to play while they wait. Last weekend, my son had a Minecraft Star Wars birthday party here. Each child had their own computer, everyone connected to the same MC Star Wars game designed by Computerwisekids for my kid. HUGE SUCCESS. Staff do EVERYTHING--set up party room (balloons, tablecloths, etc. all color-coordinated for Minecraft--I chose to bring some MC plates/cups, but Computerwise décor would have worked fine, plus they had 2 Minecraft table centerpieces). We had 16 kids, they were LOUD and the loudness was encouraged, YESSS! Parents can hang out in the party room and chat for 2 hours, or use wifi, OR join the delightedly screaming kids in the computer room and even learn how to play MC (like my husband did). Perin, our host, had everything running smoothly and on time. Her staff constantly help kids in the computer room and guides them. I highly, highly recommend. read more

My daughters took typing here all summer with their cousins and some friends - they all loved it! Next we'll be going back for the coding classes! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner is very kind and professional. My daughter who has autism went to the python coding camp and the raspberry pi camp for two weeks over winter break. Computerwise kids exceeded my expectations. They allowed myself and our daughter's behaviorist shadow my kiddo in order to make sure the experience was as successful as possible. It was an incredible experience for her. Both teachers she had were kind, patient, flexible and fun. I could tell that they valued her skills and genuinely like her. I didn't feel like a parent with a child with autism. Everyone there made us feel welcome and my daughter felt valued. Thank you all so much. We can't wait to take more classes. read more

We found this hidden gem through friends. It is conveniently located right off the 101 and has free parking in the back. My son is taking the raspberry pi class and is learning a lot and having fun! The instructor is very clear with directions (I can hear them from the waiting area), there's free wifi while you wait, and wii stations for siblings who are also waiting. The staff is very nice and helpful and the classes are affordable. We already signed hi. Up for the next session of classes. read more
