We started our weekly OTB class when my daughter was 6 mos old and it's still her favorite class a year later! I love this class (and so do my kids)! I started when my first was about 1.5yrs old, and continued until we started preschool at 3yrs old. While the future of OTB is unclear I want to update my review. At the time I was going the teachers were really new and the classes were lacking. Since then teacher Kelly has entered the scene on Tuesdays and has really stuck to the founding principles of the OTB methods. The problem now, is the next generation of parents. Where are you guys? Many of the other classes for kids have been imitated and duplicated, but not OTB sensory classes. These classes open up your child's brain. They can do art, music, dance, and gymnastics in a few spots but they can only drum loudly, sing in multiple languages, and play with fine and gross motor toys in one class at one place. We talk a lot about things we should keep away from our kids and forget about the actions we should actually take. This class is that thing you can do to help your child's brain develope, I hope you get the chance to do it. read more

Outside the box provides excellent toddler classes. When my daughter was quite young (under 1 year) I would bring her here for sensory and music classes. It was a nice way for my wife and for me to meet other parents and our daughter really got a kick out of the activities. While there are a ton of options for kids as they get older Outside the Box really does well at addressing a lack of activities for those under 1 year of age. The teachers were so friendly and interactive. Parking is easy here as well. I would highly recommend these classes. read more

Someone recommended this place, and I decided to check it out. The class are split by development, not by age. Which is great because my 7 mo isn't crawling yet, so she's still at the younger kids class. I've gone to two classes so far and I am so happy to have chosen this place. For starters, the decor is AMAZING. Walking in there you feel like you're at an art museum. Second, the classes: simply fun and 100% focusing on the baby. There's an instructor who explains each activity and the effect on our baby's senses. The activities are fun and safe of course. The first class I went to was Friday at 11am. We showed the babies colorful balls, ribbons, lights, bubbles and the best part MUSIC-sounds, drums, maracas, vibration from the drums... You name it!! My daughter loved it. The second class was Thursday at 2:30 and aside from other similar activities we painted on our babies. So it was really fun. Both classes ended with a massage to the baby and they tell you how and where to massage. My baby seems pretty relaxed afterwards. So overall my experience has been great!! read more

Hi, I've been looking for a place that u can take my 10 month old son and I saw lots of good reviews about this place so decided to try it. The classes are ok I was expecting much more but there are 2 things that it really bothers me. 1- the place is not very clean. Especially in these days where everyone is worried about covid. They must pay more attention on cleaning. The carpet that babies play on it and crawl on it it's very dirty and small trashes on it. I think it needs to be vacuumed after each class. And seems it hasn't been washed for long time. 2- I completely respect every language and culture I'm from a different country too who lives in USA but not sure why have to do few songs in Spanish when there are so many amazing English songs. read more

I love, love, love this place. Ashley is so amazing! She knows all the kids names, no need to check in . As soon as I attended a class my son was all over the place. My kid is so attached to me so of course anytime we had any seperation time he would just blow up and cry. That's how I knew I had to be consistent with the classes. He and I both fell in love. I was looking for "mommy and me classes" and discovered OTB was so much more than that. While we sing songs and play with toys like a typical mommy and me class, the instructors educate us on WHY we are doing this and the effect it will have on our child. We love attending Carmen's sensory classes but Alex is the true gem of OTB. She has a wealth of knowledge and is like a human baby google and she doesn't even have one yet. We love Outside the Box! Erica is wonderful with the kids. We have been coming here for over a year and my two year old still asks to go to their classes. Each activity is specifically designed and timed to enrich a different gross or fine motor skill. They are fun and often fascinating for adults as well! Erica is super passionate and knowledgeable. My son loves her! And her son, too. The lobby itself is a joyful place. My son particularly loves the phone booth. He obviously doesn't understand the sentiment behind it - it's very powerful and makes me emotional every time (I'll let you guys experience it for yourself). My son has been attending the younger baby classes at the on-site location in Woodland Hills and loves it. It seriously the best part of his day. The teachers Lily and Carmen are very nice. He loves the classes with Lily B the most because her lessons are more sensory based. Her sensory activities are so much fun and very stimulating. I love taking my baby to OTB. When I was on maternity leave I researched what I could do with my 11 week old because I was admittedly bored and wanted to stimulate my baby in any way. I came across OTB and I'm glad I did. They offer classes that are geared towards development and not based on age. We started with the Younger Baby class. Babies can go as early as 8 weeks. Although, I'm not sure if 8 weeks is ideal since they're pretty much sleeping or they won't care what you put in front of them. You do stretches, sing songs, they bring out different sensory toys so they can play with and end the class with massages - for the baby of course ;) Once your baby can crawl, you move to Older Baby classes. The format is similar but your babies are encouraged to move towards the toys. I feel the OB class really helped my baby build confidence in his crawling as he saw other babies crawl around him. As they get older and can walk, you move on to another class. We enjoy taking our baby not only does it give a different and safe learning environment for our son, it knocks him out to sleep right afterwards (at least when he was in YB). It's also nice to meet other parents/caretakers going through the same experiences. We've learned so many cool toys and recommendations through the instructors and parents, it makes parenting less stressful and keeps our baby engaged and happy. read more
