I just had the greatest experience ever in an Urgent Care facility. I'm a senior and had cut a pretty deep slice on my finger and walked in with bloody bandages on my finger. Everyone here was courteous, very friendly, with Joshua keeping in touch during the paperwork, insurance process -- which was quick. The whole process including the doctor who treated the cut, took only 1 Hour and every step had another staff member just as nice as the one before. Highly recommend. read more

If I have put zero or negative stars I would. This place is awful. Wait time is over 3 hours for a physical and drug test. And of course you can't make an appointment. Got here at 1150 and left at 330pm. If you need a pre employment physical or drug screen go somewhere else. Also, overheard one of the staff members flirting with a patient. That's probably why it took so long to get back here. However, the staff member that did my vitals was very polite and professional and apologized for the wait. So one star for that. read more

Updating this review bc I had a follow up appointment with a specialist today, and this was a worse experience than the first time I was here!! This morning while getting ready I got a text that implied my visit had already happened and they were looking for me to rate it.. strange.. then when showing up and checking in early for my 10:30 appointment I was told it would be a 3 hour wait and that I had to stand bc there was no more seating available. 3 HOURS WITH A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, I waited 4 hours last time without an appointment so why even schedule an appointment at this point ?! The level of unprofessionalism is UNMATCHED here. How could any patient feel valued or cared about in a location like this? This Concerntra location is truly a dystopian nightmare and I would avoid it like the plague. I have 0 hope that I will receive any type of care worthwhile. Truly disheartening. read more

The systems in place here make no sense, staff is not good at communicating wait times and very snappy when you ask simple questions about how long it might take. The chairs in the lobby are so dirty I didn't want to sit it them. The wait wasn't terrible but I was suppose to get blood drawn and I'm an RN and I about had a heart attack they way this nurse tried to draw my blood, she was extremely unskilled and I thought the needle would come out the backside of my arm she dug it in so far. Lol She def didn't get the vein and so I needed more sticks . ( from someone else thank goodness) . I try to avoid this place if I can. read more

Long wait times and staff is got the RBF (resting B* face)! No smiles at all! Came here recently for a blood test and it was very unpleasant. Their first appointment is 2 weeks out. So I opted to be a walk-in which takes forever! The whole place is a bit disorganized and the staff worked very very slowly and just appeared to be very unhappy and hate their jobs. They also lost my paperwork and so I had to request another copy from my service provider. Lame! Waited 2 hours just to do a blood draw! WTF?! The nurse is also super incompetent, paperwork is a mess and she can't find anything, very disorganized and very slow. Seem like chickens with heads cutoff running around. Lots of busy work but accomplishing nothing. No wondering it takes 2 hours for a 5min appointment. Do not recommend! Terrible! read more

To say this place is a crime against humanity is an insult to other crimes against humanity. But by all means, if you like filthy offices, being treated like a criminal by pretend "doctors" with dirty fingernails and a penchant for condescension, then this is the place for you! You might enjoy standing around awkwardly in the waiting room for fear of smudges on your pants should you risk sitting on the torn and grease-stained chairs. There is much to ponder while you loiter, awaiting the sound of your name being called out by a nurse sent to liberate you from this hell. You will wonder when last the long, empty, metal planter box in the center of the room had actual plants in it? You will marvel at the resiliency of the mold clinging to life in that soulless and forgotten vessel. You will try to remember when you've seen chairs that dirty, or floors that destroyed. An automotive repair shop, maybe? A bus stop in a very rough neighborhood? Hard to say. Soon you will understand that the difference between Consentra and auto shops and/or bus stops is that you might actually find medical care in the latter two locations. But I am getting ahead of myself! After you've waited just long enough to read War and Peace, your nurse liberator will come to take you back. If you are like me, you will be weirdly unready to leave this shithole waiting room because a small part of you still clings to hope that one of the robot-receptionists might crack a tiny smile just once, and restore your faith in humanity. Ha! No sir! Once in the back, you will be nestled in to your stale and windowless exam/storage room, and asked a few questions while waiting for Mr. "Doctor" to come in. (He's not a doctor). You will have your choice of another petri-dish of a chair, or an exam table that has shattered leather upholstery and is being used for storage. The lack of air in the room will quickly become alarming, and will further deteriorate when the visibly unclean "doctor" arrives to suck up whatever oxygen is left! You will never learn his name, because he will neither say hello nor introduce himself. Something Hamid, maybe? He will ask questions that are unrelated to your issue, barely look at you, make snide comments that you are lying about your injury, or are somehow wrong about your pain, assign you to a lengthy and pointless beaurocratic process, and spend all his time typing up his forms. You will wonder, while watching him type, when "doctors" started wearing dingy bacon-neck t-shirts to see patients? Appointments like this will continue, and the days and weeks will pass. You'll stick with it because, despite your complaints, your insurance adjuster will keep telling you to "hang in there" until you can just get a referral to see a specialist, a.k.a. a real doctor. You are in pain, so you'll do whatever it takes to get care. On your final visit, Mr. "Doctor" will twist your imaging findings into an imaginary pre-existing condition (that magically never existed prior to your work injury!). You will show proof from credible medical sources like the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Medical that refute his fiction. He will then go full-on used-car-salesman on you and go pretend to talk it over with the boss. Have you ever known a doctor that needed a second opinion of his own opinion? No, no you haven't. He'll return to deny your claim, this time with his boss's blessing (or so he will say). You'll argue your position, he'll interrupt with remedial-level-quasi-medical-sounding-yet-incorrect gak, and you will walk out, because you have boundaries, thank you very much! And your bonkers nightmare with this ghoulish creature in this abhorrent facility will end with absolutely no resolution to your medical issue whatsoever. So anyways, I wish you luck if you dare to venture forth into this darkness. You will need it! The good news, again if you are like me, is that your insurance adjuster will send you to a specialist anyways because she hears complaints about Consentra all the time. But do yourself a favor, ya know? Just go someplace else. Good luck! (The one star is required by Yelp. Came here for a work injury with an 8am "appointment." I waited 45 minutes before being seen and was there for two hours total! Second time, they made me come back for a follow up two days later, again with a 1:30pm "appointment." This time I waited 35 minutes before being called and another 30 minutes for the doctor to come in the room after they told me 5-10 minutes max. The first doctor I saw was nice and did a thorough evaluation. The second doctor didn't even know what my injury was (don't they have doctor's notes for a reason?!). He didn't even touch me either. Could've easily saved time and effort to have a virtual check in. Please, avoid this place at all costs! read more

While I have had better care with Cocentra, my last experience was anything but. I came down with what I believe to be strep throat, so I went to the urgent care in Hillcrest. I got there at 8am when it opened. When I finally saw the doctor after about 45 minutes, she took a throat swab and said I didn't have strep. I had these white patches (not thrush) over my tonsils. So, don't trust the test she took. She lied and told me she would prescribe Z-Pack. So, I drove over to my pharmacy and picked the prescription up. When I got to the car, the doctor had only prescribed 3 pills! My immune system is compromised and I didn't want to have whatever I had to come back because 3 days is not enough. Z-Pack is a 6 day regimen. After waiting around for another 45 minutes for the doctor to call back, she said it is common to only get three pills when strep comes up negative. She then lied again and said she'd would prescribe a 7 days regimen. I waited another 45 minutes. They only refilled to 6 total pills, not 7 as she told me. I was so tired of waiting. It was now 1115am, so I just took the 6 pills and left. Almost half a day! read more

I've been to all Concentra urgent care and there are only 2 places I will go back to, Hillcrest and the one on Fletcher. They get things done quickly. I went to Hillcrest this AM and the young gal opened 10 mins early and I was out within 20 mins. Mission valley lost my pre work urine drug screen so I had to have it done again. Wow. Unbelievable. I broke my ankle and foot a few weeks ago and thought it was just sprained... wasn't getting better so I went to Urgent Care to get an X-ray. They found two fractures. Over the next few days I was in back and forth contact from phone calls and faxes and even stopping by to get disability paperwork filled out. It has been a long, bureaucratic process that's super time sensitive. I just received a phone call that Dr. Foster will NOT sign my paperwork because it wasn't an on the job injury. I have never claimed it was, and have been in CONSTANT communication with the receptionists and no one has ever said that the paperwork would not be filled out. I have wasted so much time and energy into this and now will probably not be able to receive the benefits I have paid into because this doctor refuses to help me. I am absolutely furious. Wait time wasn't too bad -- I went over at about 9am. Two sets of paperwork to fill in before I was ushered back to see a doctor. The two stars is because the doctor was clueless. I went in because I had a swollen and painful tounge that had been getting progressively worse for four days, to the point where I could not move my tounge around my mouth, it was painful to swallow, and could barely eat. The dotor (Cristian Santizo) did not even look under my tongue! If he had done so, he would have see the cause ... They did have a nurse swab me for strep -- test was negative. Deborah has been working with my injured shoulder and has been very patient and understanding in helping me find ways to improve my range of motion. She is a SAINT in my book!! I am always a little skeptical with negative reviews but I promise you there is a reason this place only has 1 star reviews. This is by far the worst urgent care I have ever been to. I came 5 minutes before they opened to be the first one there and I was. I waited over 2 hours in the waiting room while they took 20+ other patients. I know it's urgent care so some are more urgent than others so it's can be longer wait times. That is not the case... someone came in an hour after me for a drug test and got taken in after he waited for 30 minutes. DO NOT COME HERE. It's a complete joke and fraud. read more

I was there for my work injury and the service was very bad, I had an appointment at 1pm I arrive 12:50 and they told me to wait after 20 minutes waiting I approached the front desk and they told me I have to wait 3-4 more hours even though I had an appointment. This place is terrible. I went to their location in La Mesa and the stuff in le Mesa mentioned that they are under stuff and asked me to go to Kearny Mesa location. In Kearny Mesa location the manager Miguel Vargas looked at my paperwork and mentioned that we don't do that test. Go back to your employer and get authorization for the test again. All he had do is to correct the info and send the information. With gas prices these people made me drive all over place. They are disorganized and really unprofessional. read more

I came to this urgent care for pre-employment drug screen, physical, N95 respirator fit test, and TB test. I came in when they first opened in the morning and there were already several people there but I only had to wait about a half an hour to be seen. The entire process took less than an hour. I can't say enough good things about this place. From front desk to the medical assistant to the physician, everyone treated me with the upmost respect and it was a positive and efficient experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! The absolute worst care I have ever witnessed or heard about. I was forced to come here for a work injury. In the waiting room, the lights flicker on and off making you feel real safe. They brought me back into the room and the phone started ringing, and I was half tempted to answer it. The cabinets on the side said to keep them locked, but they were all unlocked. The doctor - Dr. Cristian Antonio Santizo - comes in and doesn't even say hi even after I acknowledge him. He starts talking about my injury and then proceeded to tell me that my injury was my fault and that I should know how to heal myself from my injuries - I wasn't aware I was the one in the room that went to medical school. I asked him for a copy of x-rays and he acted like I asked for the impossible. He was extremely rude and arrogant. After he yelled at me for not knowing how to treat my injuries I was ready to walk out of the room but since it's workman's comp I couldn't. He then proceeded to ask me questions and he would change my answers. For example "is your pain better or the same" "it's worse" "so better" excuse me?! He also never once even bother to look at my injuries. He then said I was free to go, and as I am walking down the hallway on crutches, since I can't put weight on my leg, he hands me a folder and expects me to carry it to the receptionist instead of taking it up there himself. I asked the receptionist something and she just says "whatever you and the provider discussed" that's the point there was no communication and he didn't discuss anything with me. This place was a nightmare. I still had to deal with going to physical therapy where they just yelled they needed the paperwork even though they were hiding behind a door. The worst "care" I have ever experienced and this place should be shut down. There is no care or customer service of any kind. Mr. Santizo (you don't even deserve the title of doctor), you should really choose another profession, perhaps one where you don't deal with people, because you are by far the worst doctor I have ever dealt with! Stopped in yesterday, 10/13/21 as I have been battling a cough,cold for 7 days at this point. I get there, am filling out paperwork and have a major coughing attack (why I am there). I am wearing a mask and covering my mouth as this is going on. I clear out the waiting room on my side. I understand. Then (I assume the office manager) starts to talk to me from her desk (5 - 10 feet). She ask me if I have had a covid test. In the open waiting room for all to hear. Hippa violation?? I told her I had received my negative results this morning. Teladoc told me I needed to see a doctor which is why I came in. She proceeds to tell me I might need to wait in my car till the doctor can see me. That was so welcoming.. When I finally went back to a room neither the nurse, doctor, or x-ray tech introduced themselves. No information was shared as to vitals, temp, etc. Doc came in, went over some basics. Suggested some antibiotics and cough meds. I stated that I was already taking some (went over everything with the nurse) and I was trying to get some decent cough meds. Doc's response: You didn't tell me. WTF I assume you read the chart before you see me. Told me he was going to get me an x-ray and left. 20 minutes later I look out the door to see what is happening. A few minutes later someone arrives to take my x-ray. Again, no introduction, what we are going to do, etc. So have x-ray, after tech trying to put me in a different room (my purse, etc is in my old room) finally get settled. When doc comes back in tells me nothing on the x-ray. Not surprising. I again ask about meds. He tells me he called a different antibiotic (were you going to tell me if I didn't ask). I again ask about cough meds. "Oh, I doubled your dose of your existing prescription" Then told me I could leave. When I asked for a copy of the records, the (again I assume office manager) seemed put out that I would want them. One of my worst experiences in health care in my 55 years. Avoid at all cost. In reading my discharge papers it incorrectly states that I was seen in Urgent Care prior to this visit. Says I deny any fever or chills?? Did my temp show a fever?? Also states I was offered a Chaperone and denied it. Complete fabrication. read more
