When you call it prompts you to be able to walk in for appointments, it does not let you leave a message or a call back number. There are no appointments to book online, however it does say walk ins welcome. The doctor on-site said that she would not welcome me to wait and she is not taking walk ins, I simply said I'd sit and incase if any cancellations and was told there's no point she won't be seeing me. I sat in the chair and was outside while there was a 15-20 minute gap in between patients and the only additional word I got from her was peaking out the door saying "I won't have time to see you go somewhere else." IF YOU WONT TAKE WALK INS, DON'T HAVE YOUR SYSTEM STATE THEY ARE WELCOME. read more

The care was good. But I was told I didn't owe any money. Months later I got texts saying to pay my bill. I blocked the # thinking it was spam. Then I received an email say to pay my bill. I called the minute clinic & was put on hold for an hour! ( I got a lot done during the hour.) But now I am so angry at them. I did what I was supposed to do. I called the # of the actual minute clinic & they put me hold for an hour! I hung up rather than spend another second of my time on this. read more

Was seen quickly when I came in and they were nice so that was a positive experience. I had a cough for a while and I have no insurance so I decided to come here I was seen for less than 15 minutes and was charged 140. I was prescribed an inhaler and some pills to ease my cough but it did not work...I was told I would get a follow up call in a week so I just took the meds I was given and waited for the call to see if maybe they would prescribed something else or just to check up on me. Got no call I had to call in....finally got a call back and they said I should go to the doctors. I ended up going to the urgent care and was prescribed antibiotics which the doctor said I should of been from the start. Best CVS Minute Clinic thus far. To backtrack, I have been sick for almost a month and have done everything humanly possible to get well again; from Aireborne, Zycam & Alleve to just plain bed rest, chicken soup and tons of hot tea & water. Even some disgusting concoction that my mom made me drink from some recipe that her friend's daughter's cousin's uncle swore by. Super gross. Nothing worked and I was beyond frustrated. If you've ever visited this specific location, you will be pleasantly surprised at the service you get from a nurse named Allyl. I wish I had gotten her last name. She was great, very warm and personable. I loved the fact that she was very thorough, took the time to listen to all of my symptoms and concerns and made me feel comfortable during my visit. We happened to be #8 in line so we detoured to TJ Maxx to kill time. We killed about an hour or so and decided to check back to see how far along we were. Typically, each visit lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but when we arrived there was nobody left waiting. YES! We definitely got lucky and had to wait up to hours for other past visits...so expect that if you come at a peak time. Nurse Allyl was quick to diagnose my illness. She prescribed me an antibiotic literally a few days ago and I'm happy to report that I am almost 100% better!! This was after the quack at Scripps Carmel Valley Hospital prescribed medication that did absolutely nothing to improve my condition. Cough syrup with codeine? I'm practically dying here lady! And she was mean, cold and callous...practically yanked up the back of my sweater when she checked my breathing, to my shock and horror. But that's a whole nother vent. Stay tuned. I am just thrilled that I can breathe through my nose and taste food again...feels great to no longer be a walking plague of viral infection. LIfe is good. :) read more

I was looking for an urgent care as my PCP appointment wasn't for awhile. There are some terrible/scary reviews for urgent cares in SD, and there are not many. A friend mentioned CVS Minute Clinc and after a quick check on Yelp I decided to come. It's a convenient location for me and offered earlier hours. My experience was incredible & I am surprised by the reviews I've read about this place. The check in process was electronic and I was seen within 5 minutes. I came earlier to beat the lines, but they offer online checking and waiting line updates on their website. Very convenient. I was seen by a nurse practitioner who was thorough in my health history, and physical examination. She was knowledge and walked me through everything. They offer a print out of the examination that you can take for reference. They are in network for my health insurance and I only had to pay $35, where most urgent cares are $100/visit. This will be my mainstay for non-critical medical matters! read more

I was very impressed (while sick mind you, so i was extra hard to please) with the speed and efficiency of this clinic. I arrived prior to opening and was able to sign in and be 1st on the list for my promptness. The "Dr's" arrived right at 9 when they opened, setup and were out to see me by 9:08am. After a quick rundown on my insurance, processing of my copay, and check of my vitals i was diagnosed and my prescription sent to the pharmacy outside. I'd definitely come here again but probably choose another location to fill my prescription as the pharmacy was VERY slow as the pharmacists chit chatted and took their time completing their tasks (tsk, tsk) read more

How can I show negative stars. Arrived at this minute clinic, Rosecrans and Midway-San Diego at 9:30AM. Navigating the registration was painful due to the ergonomics of their computer. The sign said wait time was 102 minutes with only 2 names ahead on the board. 2 hours later the board showed my wait time was 120 minutes. Had been there 120 minutes already. Also showed the scheduled lunch time. There was no employee to see. CVS employees said different company and they could not help. This particular Minute Clinic is MORE THAN AWFUL. If this system allowed it I would give negative 10 stars Other people arriving after me, without registering on-line, had less wait times than I did. read more

Last visit in NOVEMBER, my daughter, who is on my insurance was overcharged for the visit AND for a prescription. Not a problem. I called, was redirected, and redirected again in circles, until I got to the billing dispute. After clarifying what should have been charged, I was told I would receive a check in the mail after my insurance payment was received. I called my insurance, they informed me that Minute Clinic had already posted the payment. Call CVS back and was told the refund was in the mail. Never got it. 3 months later, I call again. This time with a representative from my insurance company on the line, who acted on my behalf to inform Minute Clinic of the proper billing practices. I was told that "for some reason, the check was never sent" and that I would get it within the next 4-6 weeks. Never got it. I called back AGAIN! This time I was sent in circles again and told that the check should arrive in approx. 2 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager, was put on hold, the associate returns to the line to inform me that the manager was refusing to speak to me but the check should arrive in 2-4 weeks. It is now APRIL....... Oh, and they got the diagnosis wrong. I should have read the other reviews beforehand. read more

Omg the women that work there... they are just soooo sweet, and just the way they were with me so kind and caring. Very warm people! One of the doctors checked my temperature and my blood pressure (maybe it was Terry?... Im assuming because a woman named Terry left me a voicemail) before getting the nasal swab done for my Covid test results. The lady was so cute, at first the blood pressure reading wasn't working, she was jokingly saying.."oh no you're a zombie, you're to pretty to be a zombie let's try it again, shake your hands take a few deep breathes in and out" it worked the second time she said "oh it worked, see i knew you weren't a zombie" haha we both laughed, but she did let me know that my blood pressure was kind of higher than normal and asked me if I was nervous. I let her know that I'm taking a low dose of adderal in the mornings but I am just generally under a lot of stress and anxiety lately, and before my flight departure to Germany tomorrow. The other doctor that took my nasal swab was also super sweet, she was guiding me through the whole procedure, and I received a callback with my negative result within 20minutes and the official result online accessible through my chart within an hour. It was such an easy process and the women were so nice and personable. read more

After a recent visit to this place I am more grateful than ever that I have some quality medical insurance... On NYE I came down with a nasty cough that I couldn't shake and getting into see my normal doctor during holiday hours wasn't possible - they tried but the entire staff seemed to be taking some r&r. Enter, Minute Clinic. They had someone on the clock and check in was a breeze seeing that I was the only one there at the time. The doctor got me in the exam room in about 5 minutes, started asking questions, took my vitals and diagnosed me with bronchitis. My insurance didn't cover it but at $99 I was happy just to know what was wrong and to get on the road to recovery. Well, that's where things went wrong... After a visit with my normal doctor a few days later for good measure, he was shocked to see that I was diagnosed correctly but given nothing to cure me. The meds prescribed weren't harmful in any way but were all wrong and my health had digressed to the point where I was bordering on walking pneumonia. I was quickly given the "big guns" and sent on my way to heal properly. Five stars for convenience, but minus two for mild incompetency. read more

Let me first say, that I am a registered nurse and come here because its typically pretty quick to get my TB skin test done in between my nursing contracts. Let me also preface this by saying that I have read TB skin tests in the past and one of the Nurse Practitioners should no longer be allowed to read these tests without additional education regarding TB Skin tests. I have been getting TB skin tests, at least yearly, for 5 or 6 years. I know what a positive versus negative result is an looks like, she does not. She does not know what an area of induration is despite me reading it to her verbatim from the CDC website. I argued with her and then gave up, because she wouldn't budge. She looked unsure of herself, she hesitated when she had to write down the mm of induration, and had to also look up the information. If she was unsure she should have asked for a second opinion, not guess. The theory of minute clinics are awesome and helpful for people like me. But if you have new grad Nurse Practitioners with zero experience running a clinic, they are going to have a difficult time with more experienced nurses coming in who know what they are talking about. My problem is that this young lady shouldn't be reading TB tests, that have a pretty significant impact on people's work and livelihood, is she does not know what she is doing. She needs to use her resources in order to make good decisions. read more

It should be called the 40-minute clinic. I just needed a flu shot and a TB test to volunteer at my daughter's school, and it was close by and sounded convenient, so I gave it a try. Biggest complaint is the long wait time - I was 1st on the wait list the first day, and 2nd on the wait list my next visit, and it took nearly 40 minutes to get in both times. The 2nd visit was just to "read" my TB test, which took all of 30 seconds. Would have been much faster to just go to my doctor's office. Also, they took insurance for the flu shot, but not the TB test, which would have been covered at my doctor's office. The waiting area could also be improved - it's not great just sitting in the aisle-way for 40 minutes in a plastic chair staring at the Pampers aisle. I can see that if you don't have insurance or primary doctor, this might make sense, but otherwise if, like me, you think it might be faster and more convenient than going to your doctor, you might want to think again. read more

As I sit here in this tiny room I am appalled by everything that has happened in the last 15 mins. Now, before I start I would like to say I did experience the "MINUTE" wait. But boy the experience. I was very skeptical with the throat culture testing the doctor completed. I was skeptical about the lack of diagnosis I received. I ended up having to see my doctor a few days later to find out I had strep. I would recommend that if possible you attend an urgent care facility vs pharmacist. It's awesome this is around for an option as we all know urgent care and emergency rooms tend to have a crazy wait, but the judgement of the nurses here are hard to accept. read more

THANK YOU, MINUTE CLINIC. I have been turned down for health insurance because of food allergies, so I have been ducking and weaving my way through the medical mine field for quite some time. This place was so easy! It opens at 10am, and is located within a CVS store, so it's really not an uncomfortable wait. I got there a wee-bit after ten and was third on the list. No more waiting in free clinic lines for 12 hours because you couldn't predict that you going to sick-- this place has changed all that! The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They do anything from a physical exam for school kids to prescribing meds for a sinus infection. The cost is reasonable, but not dirt cheap. The exams start at $69, and obviously if there's any meds needed those get factored in, too. You can visit their website for a more complete breakdown of pricing. I highly recommend that if you are without health insurance and need something more then a bandaid, that you visit the Minute Clinic! read more

Had an appointment at six. Showed up at 5:50. Kiosk wouldn't let me sign in, never got the confirmation email but when I call customer service they say I have an appointment. That's not really anyone's fault, just an internal error. So I decide to just see if they call my name. The minute clinic is just two closed doors at the back of the cvs, which is not ideal either because normally clinics have a front desk to help with appointments, and check-ins, etc. so that's no one's fault but cvs. At 6:10 a nurse pops out and calls someone else's name, and I am sitting in the designated waiting area, and the girl she calls is in the disabled seating. finally it's 6:30, and someone recommends I ask the pharmacy for help. They call the nurse and tell her I've been waiting, I go back. It's 6:55, the other girl leaves, I say hi I had an appointment at 6. She tells me she "looked around" and didn't see anyone. I ask why she didn't just call my name, she flips the open sign to closed and ignores me. Expect service like that here. read more

I felt terrible, my nose was all stuffed up, I couldn't breathe, I was coughing and coughing... and I was two thousand miles from home. So I went on Google and found this CVS Minute Clinic. It's located inside the CVS, next to the pharmacy. I showed up expecting to wait an hour or two or even more. The nurse practitioner, Carol, said her next appointment was a no-show, so she could see me immediately. (I definitely lucked out, as a lot of the criticism here is about the wait times.) After I filled out the touch screen form, Carol spent about 20 minutes taking my history, asking questions and examining me. She was professional and thorough. She concluded my infection was bacterial (it's a green thing) and wrote a prescription for an antibiotic, which she handed to the CVS pharmacist. Ten minutes later, I walked out antibiotic in hand. I have good insurance, so CVS billed my insurance company. I was only out-of-pocket $7 for the antibiotic. It's one week later now, and I'm almost completely recovered. read more

I had the best experience. I have Kaiser insurance and can't appreciate the wait times, appointment scheduling or services available to me. The One Minute Clinic was recommended to me in passing and thought I would try it out. I checked in at a kiosk and saw a practitioner within minutes. My practitioner was professional and nice, she resolved my issue, I paid her and I left. It was so simple and effective. I didn't miss work, stress out about time or wait for an extended amount of time. Thank you Minute Clinic! read more

My advice, don't go here. Wait time was long but not terrible. I was able to sign in online and show up for my "appointment" on wed 3/23 in the morning. My issue is with the actual nurse(s) that dealt with me. I don't feel like they didn't listen to me and were not good at their job. I went in with a sore throats and thought it may be strep. They did a rapid test and essentially said "well the tests says it's not... if it gets worse go to a better dr" Well.... 3 days later and a trip to urgent care and j got strep. If only the nurses at the Minute Clinic actually took the time to think and really look at my throats they could have prescribed something then. Saving me goes if pain and another $30 copay. Save time and money, go somewhere where the nurses actually know what they are doing and care for the people who visit. I'm never going back. read more

Everybody on here is talking about their real doctors and I'm like ehhh, I just go to the Minute Clinic. Why? Because I loathe doctors, hospitals, urgent cares, etc. Plus I've spent most of my adult life without insurance and Kourtney doesn't have unlimited monies for serious doctor appointments. If I keel over and die, that's my business. Whenever I feel like death is approaching and I decide I have some reason to live, I'll break and head to CVS. It's perfect for me! They have decent hours, you walk in and sign in on a machine or ahead of time online, you're seen in a private room, and if you need a prescription they've got a pharmacy right there if you want to use it. You can come here for so many ailments so check their website for a full list. Even with a slight wait time, it's hardly like the DMV. I've never had to wait too long for an appointment, in fact most of my visits I just check in and walk into the examination room. Anna-Joy the NP is the best! I saw her this past week when I was 6 days into what I'm going to dub "Kourtney's Mega Cold aka Death Watch 2017" because sweet cheddar cheesus I was miserable. I could barely eat, couldn't sleep because I was too busy hacking up who knows what, had sinus pain and messed up ear canals, and I couldn't even speak. Anna-Joy figured out what was wrong with me even with me barely being able to whisper, wrote me a couple prescriptions, and recommended additional medicines to get me back to the land of the living. So here I am 4 days later and while I still can't fully annoy people talking to them, I can eat and sleep. WIN! read more

Turned away after waiting almost an hour of waiting. I'm not sure if you can write a review with less then 1 star. I was in San Diego for a business meeting and got a sudden fever and sore-throat. I arrived at 5:30pm put my name on the board and had 2 other names in front and the HCP was in a room. The HCP did not emerge for 40min and when she did she announced she could only see two more people and I was #3. I didn't realize they could kick you to the curb when you have a fever and flu symptoms. I was sick for longer then needed because I traveled all day before returning home and finally saw a physician 2 days after being at this clinic. I will never use a Minute clinic again. read more

I needed some vaccinations before going abroad. Although I was supposed to get them at least 30 days prior to leaving, it was now t-minus 15 days because I was lazy for three months. Well, better late than never I thought, and said as much to a pharm friend. He just shook his head. This Minute Clinic in Point Loma was no joke. After signing in at the touch screen (a conspicuously large bottle of alcohol hand sanitizer sat next to it), I only had to wait a few minutes before a door opened and my name was called. My nurse practitioner looked like he was in charge of a battlefield triage unit. I had scarcely answered some of his questions before he brought out the vaccines and double checked the syringes. Two in one shoulder, one in the other and I was done. He wished me a good trip and handed me a CVS coupon as I walked out to boot. I had a really bad ear ache and could not get into my doctor for two days so on Friday late afternoon I decided to head to UrgentCare on Midway (despite the really mad to mixed reviews on Yelp for that facility) when my friend texted me to try out CVS MinuteClinic in the same area. I am SOOO glad I made that turn. MinuteClinic was amazing. No wait at all - Bob Olsen, MSN took care of me quickly, and thoroughly and then the pharmacy there was great in filling out my prescriptions in a very friendly and caring way and got me on the road to health! I will definitely go back here instead of UrgentCare! read more

Nobody at a desk to ask questions to. Long wait. No price list available. Finally while waiting more than an hour for a simple TB skin test Googled price for the test and it was something like $45 for the test and another $25 to "read" the test. So I left because I was still waiting anyway. They need to change the name from "minute clinic" to "you are going to be waiting a long time for the most simple of procedures" clinic. Could not get anyone on the phone, during business hours, to even ask a simple question about coming in. I was stuck in recorded message hell. I tried 4 times. How can someone that's ill get treated like that? I chose to go to Sharp Urgent Care where my mom was treated just as a patient should be. I'll probably never go to or recommend CVS clinic. I could not even easily take their survey to let them know my dissatisfaction. I had a bad gut feeling about it from the beginning. Now I know why. This place is Great for quick things...like getting shots or easy check ups but it not a doctors office. The nurse's on staff are awesome :) friendly, understanding and knowledgeable! It was a 2 week wait to see my doc or over an hour at Urgent Care. I walked into CVS, signed in at the Minute Clinic and was called in less that 10 minutes. The exam was thorough and the NP asked all the right questions. After that, I just walked over to the pharmacy counter for my prescriptions. I was in and out with my medication in less than 45 minutes! Very happy with the service. Now if I could just get rid of this infection.... read more

Quick, easy, clean and helpful. My daughter's eyes looked as if she had a case of pink eye and Minute Clinic took care of everything.

Let me first start off by saying that I have NEVER EVER given anyone a bad review before- EVER! Not on yelp, not in a survey! My mom taught me if I don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And that is a mantra I have lived by until this awful experience at Minute Clinic- I speak up now because you need to know about this situation so it never happens again! Although the nurse was nice and she followed the obviously straightforward protocol, I was misdiagnosed because of a false positive strep screen. Clearly this was not her fault as even the subsequent lab test came back negative; however clinicians should learn about false negative rates of these tests and learn to defer to clinical judgement. I CLEARLY had a SEVERE case of strep by the time I saw my PCP the next day (who by the way said those tests are garbage and she doesn't even use them because she has gotten so many false negatives using them). By the time I saw my PCP the next day I was in SEVERE pain and nearly had to go to the ER the night before because I declined so rapidly and my fever spiked to 103. Not only was the nurse unable to recognize a clear case of strep, she prescribed for me decongestants even though I had NO congestion at all and a lidocaine gargle which made me gag and cut my already painful throat up so bad that I was spitting up blood all night! For this reason I will never refer a friend or family member to Minute clinic for anything serious- only for simple routine procedures such as a flu or tetanus shot. Not only that, I will NEVER use CVS pharmacy again because while processing my Rx with the pharmacy staff I suddenly became extremely dizzy, nauseated, and light headed and I told the lady at the counter who was helping me that I was really dizzy and couldn't even see her or hear her- I vaguely heard her ask very nonchalantly- almost totally disregarding me- if I wanted her to call an ambulance before I lost consciousness- NO ONE DID ANYTHING TO HELP ME! When I came to, the staff person had simply moved to the next register and was helping someone else!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! The whole staff treated me like I had the plague! No one helped me to a seat or asked me if I was ok or ANYTHING- they just let me be unconscious at the freaking register!!!! Thank God I merely put my head down before losing consciousness and didn't hit the floor! When I came to I threw up- luckily someone at least got me a bag! Then I lost consciousness again! The pharmacist expedited my RX, so it was ready before I regained consciousness the second time, but they still made me wait in line behind 5 other people- people who clearly didn't want me anywhere near them and I couldn't blame them! The staff treated me like I had the plague- and I felt like I did!- and the other patrons didn't want me any where near them either, understandably so! There was a nurse right there in the clinic!! Why didn't someone get her to help me?? Or call an ambulance?? Or just help me to a seat, or at least push me to the front of the line so I could pay for my RX and get home to bed! I guarantee you none of the other customers would have minded letting me cut in line to get me out of there as soon as possible- so why didn't anyone just get me the F out of there?? I was too disoriented to know even do anything about it. I am so disappointed in how the pharmacy staff treated me I will NEVER return to CVS!! read more

Rude and didn't want to bother with me even though I waited over 30 minutes. I arrived about 6:40pm. They close at 7:30pm. The kiosk wouldn't allow me to sign up because there were two people ahead of me. That's fine, I understand that. I called my insurance to see if they had other urgent care clinics open now and as I was waiting on the phone with them, the guy ahead of me left his place in line. Left the store. So that meant there was no one ahead of me once she was done with the current patient. So I waited patiently while she cleaned the room after the last patient. It was 7:15 by the time she came out and we spoke. I informed her the guy ahead of me had left. She was annoyed I was even asking anything and she told me she had to call and confirm he wasn't coming back. I said ok then can you do that? She said no, because I can't see anyone new after 7:15. Hmmm so I just waited for over 30 minutes (well before 7:15pm) and a guy LEFT CVS around 7:00pm and did not return (well before 7:15pm) and you can't see me and give me a simple strep throat rapid test which would take 60 seconds. And now the nice woman on the phone tells me other urgent care clinics around are closing at 8:00pm so I won't be able to make it to any of them before 8:00pm. Rude, uncaring, unprofessional. First time trying a pharmacy clinic and last. And they are not medical doctors. read more

I came into Minute Clinic because I was extremely sick for over a week which almost always means you have some sort of an infection. I was initially charged $15 to see a physician, GAUVREAU, N, who thought that I may of had strep throat. She did a simple strep throat test (nothing fancy) and in her diagnosis concluded that I had just a cold virus. I was inside the clinic for all together maybe 15-20 minutes. My condition had gotten worse so I went to a different clinic and saw another physician who immediately diagnosed me with a sinus infection and prescribed me antibiotics. After reviewing my bank statements a month later I saw that Minute Clinic had charged me an additional $100 on my debit card. The only service provided by minute clinic was a strep throat test which was done there inside the clinic which was apparently sent to a separate quest diagnostics lab without my knowledge that later sent me an invoice three months later for $164. I was charged a total of $250 for an incorrect diagnosis. My sinus infection would've been easily treated if I had been properly diagnosed and prescribed antibiotics. This place is a complete scam and I wouldn't recommend this clinic to my worst enemy. Not only are they completely unknowledgeable and do not take the time to properly diagnose patients, but they charge an absurd amount of money for doing a simple strep throat test. If you are ill, I would recommend going to a more reputable clinic because you will end up spending the same amount of money for a much more knowledgeable physician and a correct diagnosis. read more

I went to the Minute Clinic knowing exactly what as wrong (UTI) and the exact antibiotic I needed to feel well again. I opted for the Minute Clinic mistakenly thinking it would be more affordable than an urgent care. It cost me $170 for the visit and $40 for the medication. The nurse practitioner refused to give me the antibiotics I requested. I understand she is a medical professional, but being someone who has been in this situation about once a year for most of my life, I think I know my body. The prescription I was first prescribed was one listed on my allergy list. After I caught the error, the pharmacist phoned the NP, who still refused the medication I requested. I spent the next day with flu like symptoms due to the reaction I experienced from the medication prescribed. After calling and ranting on the phone, I was prescribed my $6 antibiotics of choice, but will not be refunded for the $40 prescription that made me ill.
