I went here because my insurance (Tricare) is accepted. They have a nice lobby with a big television. They even have coffee out if anyone wants it. The people who work here have all been very nice and accommodating, which is nice when you don't feel good. I have seen two different doctors and both took a good amount of time with me to figure out what was going on. They asked a lot of questions and seemed genuinely concerned. With a prescription (called in by them) I was out the door and ready to be healed. :) Both times I received a call a few days later to make sure that I was doing better. I really appreciated that because both times I had a few questions. They got back to me with the answers and all was well!

My parents chose Valir because of their reputation and the rep who gave them the tour of the facility. My sister had a seizure while I was visiting today, the nurses wouldn't even come in to check, they just said "if she's awake and talking it isn't a seizure." When a nurse finally came in, he asked "and what are we supposed to do?" My parents had been told Valir would help them fight insurance to get the help she really needed to get to the point of being INDEPENDENT. She can't walk on her own without assistance or a walker, she can't stand on her own, she can't get to the toilet on her own, she can't shower on her own. So. Valir = get in, get out. Once you've met the goals WE set for you, then you're on your own. Horse. Shit. Now my mom still doesn't have any clue on when she can get back to work, my parents don't know if they'll ever be able to have an "empty nest," and Valir will continue condescending the families of their "patients."

I gave more than a weeks notice when we went on vacation and gave several days notice the other time when my child spent a week with his grandparents over the summer. The three absences were over the summer. I also had one day I had a migraine and could not drive. I can't easily make up these sessions since I work in Choctaw and if I have to pick my child up from school it takes a 2 hour chunk out of my work day. I was already doing it once a week for them and once a week for counseling. I am not happy with the communication from the speech path either. When she texted me going forward she would not see my child on Wednesdays anymore, I reshuffled everything in my Monday schedule to accommodate for that. I said I could make Monday at 3 work in the text. She did not respond to that. When I questioned her about it she said that she chose not to respond because I hadn't committed to a makeup time even though I did communicate that I was trying to figure out where in my schedule I could figure out to put it. We showed up Monday and found that she wasn't even there. She told me she'd have her supervisor call the next day. It took two days for her to call back and she was unconcerned about any difficulties that we had experienced and stated since I hadn't managed to make up the appointments then they were just going to discharge him.
