Do not go there if you have an appointment! I scheduled an appointment with them well enough in advance by one week. I checked and arrived on time; another customer came after me with her appointment 30 minutes after mine. I waited one hour to even be seen and the appointment that was scheduled after mine was admitted and checked in before I was. I don't understand what type of process they run at this location but it is not effective. Being a healthcare professional and understanding my patient rights and responsibilities, this location has poor customer service. The receptionist is very rude and dismissive more especially to people of color. I came here a couple times about 3 years ago and different staff and different policies back then. Now from the moment you walk in the door you aren't greeted by a friendly helpful person. Very dry when i hand her over my insurance cards. We have blue cross blue shield which is a very common provider. She tells me this visit will be billed like an ER visit and I'd have to pay a $150 ER copay rather than my usual $20 office visit copay. I said no way and walked out. They also didn't have any docs on duty only a PA. I came here 3 years ago on a Sunday night to get my blood checked anxiously because i just got a positive pregnancy test at home the nurse who took my blood out of my arm tried 3 different spots and left my bruised for days. If you're needing an urgent care that won't bill you like an ER visit go to 164th and penn access. Smaller more intimate and much friendlier people working. read more

We were traveling across country and overnighted in Oklahoma City. Unfortunately, my wife became ill and our daughter (in Connecticut) identified FMUC as being excellent for urgent care and made a 6:45 pm appointment. The National hotel provided car transportation. The doctor's care was excellent and she provided the necessary prescription we filled the next morning. Very highly recommended. read more

I have been to this location twice now. Both times the experience was horrible. The first time I had an insurance some people don't take, so I asked them at the start if they take my insurance. She said she couldn't look that up until I filled out all the paperwork. (I have worked at multiple doctor offices and typically they have a list of computer system where they can quickly check if it's an insurance they accept. So... I take 20 minutes to fill out all this paperwork and I walk up there and hand it to her and she says sorry we don't take this insurance. What?!? You just wasted both of our time. Second time. Two women were sitting behind the desk and continue a personal conversation before speaking to me. Then when they did speak to me they were short and rude. Ok so then she tells me since I don't have a specific copay amount I need to pay 25% today. I do have a copay it's $20 and she says yea that's fine do you want a receipt? Yes please. The lady at the front desk was not very kind or empathetic at all. I have social anxiety and going places even the doctor is very nerve racking for me, the lady seemed annoyed and apathetic to the fact that I was sick, or that I was nervous. The doctor was confusing and seemed to already walk in with a plan and not really care what I was saying. This places sucks!! I had a covid test in July I had to pay $190 out of pocket for. My insurance covers it 100% so I submitted a claim and they sent First Med a check. Will never go to any other urgent care but this one! My wife was super sick and we walked in about 10 minutes before they closed on a Saturday night. I was fully expecting attitude or even to be turned away since they were about to close. I was totally wrong! The receptionist was so incredibly welcoming and empathetic towards my wife while I filled out paper work. She quickly proceeded the paperwork and insurance and got my wife back to see the doctor. My wife loved the doctor and felt that she really cared for her. I live close to this location but I would even drive out of my way to visit this location again. read more

I felt like I had the flu, called to confirm they were open and closing time. I literally TOLD the receptionist I was on the way. I got there 8 minutes before they closed and they told me "they just took their last patient..." I replied REALLY? I just phoned and confirmed you were open and said I was on the way. She told me sorry it was the Dr.'s orders. He said they just took their last patient for the evening. Normally I would have said let me talk to the Dr., but felt so bad, I just said that's pretty poor and walked off discussed. So beware of the kind of crappy customer service you get at this clinic! read more

I called to get pricing for a cash paying patient. She questioned me what for and I said I have a sinus infection. She said, "okay we will need to test you for Covid". I replied, "I already had Covid early December and I've been recovered. I just have a sinus infection and I don't want to be tested." She said, "if you don't want to do as we ask, you will need to go somewhere else". Okay, I did. Didn't get tested and got my antibiotics. I would recommend everyone to go to another urgent care. Extremely disappointed with them lately. Because of all this covid, the care they give patients has declined dramatically. They do not throughly examine you before giving a diagnosis and are treating blindly. More upsetting is that now that they are a rapid testing site for covid everyone with paranoia is getting seen and people with real medical issues cannot get in. A few months ago, I went to the First Med Urgent Care in Edmond, off of Kelly, for a COVID test. The staff came out to my car, asked me a few standard questions, "Have you experienced any symptoms?" and "Have you been exposed to someone that has tested positive?". The most basic standard of care for any COVID testing sites. Three months later, I receive a bill - not for the COVID test which insurance covered - but for the 'New Patient Office Visit' that was billed at a 'Level 3' for $190. A swab at my car door does not constitute as a Level 3 visit, so if you want to go to a medical facility that will up-charge you for their profit, then this is the place to go to. read more

The entire staff here is always super pleasant and helpful. I have had to go twice in the last week to make sure I had enough medicine and the PA tonight made sure I didn't leave without treating all my symptoms and making sure the medicine prescribed would work for me without any issues. A great alternative if you don't have a primary care physician. This was my 4th visit and each time I'm in and out within about 30 min although I make sure and go mid morning or mid afternoon when they are usually not very busy. Do not go here. My wife went here with my 1-yo daughter because she's been throwing up. Waited for over an hour and a half. If you know anything about infants/toddlers, you'll know that keeping them in one spot for that long a period of time won't keep them happy. Well she was crying when they finally came to see her. What did they say? "She's probably just throwing up because she's crying so much". Are you for real? Didn't listen to her breathing, didn't ask about other symptoms, just 'maybe she's crying a lot'. Never going back. I had been seen for a UTI and given meds that didn't clear it up. I called to have a different med prescribed. The nurse was rude even before I spoke! Even though they had done a culture, she said I would have to come back in. I had been told just to call if the first med didn't work. When I asked to speak to the doctor, she said he doesn't take phone calls!!! It was the same doctor I had seen the week before. This was on Friday, March 30 at 8:00 am. Whoever that nurse was, I hope she is gone now. I also have never ever heard of a doctor who won't speak to his patients over the phone. What a terrible experience. I received a notification in the mail from a collection agency that an unpaid medical bill from this urgent care had been sent to collections in the amount of $25. This is a problem for several reasons: 1) I paid this bill at the time of service. 2) I *always* check in with the front desk staff at any medical facility to make sure I've taken care of any financial responsibility I have. 3) I've been back to this same provider since the charge in question occurred! What a shameful and reckless way to run a business. Damaging a person's credit can have serious repercussions. It should be expected that a business would make a notable effort (or any at all) to reconcile with a customer prior involving a collection agency. There are several other urgent cares in the near proximity of this one. Unless you like getting ripped off I suggest going to another facility. read more

Ive visited there nearly 10 times and they've provided professional, exceptional service every time. Reliable urgent care with fully electronic files for those of us repeat customers. I have been going to this place since it was located on Memorial Road and Kelly and it's great for those times when you need to see a doctor and don't have the time or inclination to get an appointment. Speed of service is relative to how many patients are there at any one time, but you will get seen by a doctor and taken care of. Same ownership for many years and they don't seem to change staff very often so it must be an OK place to work too. read more

This place says they're open till 7:30 pm. I got there at 7:25 pm feeling horrible. The nurse at the front desk said they were closed. I told her what time it was. She then begrudgingly asked me what my symptoms were, and made a phone call to someone in the back. Apparently my symptoms weren't serious enough for them to see me. She hung up and said "Sorry, we're closed." There were no other patients waiting. It still wasn't 7:30. It wouldn't have taken them any time to see me. Worst customer/patient service ever. This is my first and last visit to this facility. Usually I go to OU Medical Center in Edmond but I wanted to avoid the higher copay so I decided to use an urgent care facility. The receptionist was polite and explained how she was new and still figuring things out. The tech that called us to the room was very rude. I asked if they has a wheelchair and she said yes and went behind the door and didn't come back. My husband fell back down in the chair and I asked was she going to get a wheelchair and she said "it's not far." She stood in the hall as I helped him ambulate to the room. I asked her if she could hold the door. These are simple things that you'd expect from a care provider. She supposedly swabbed him for flu but she only put the tip in his nostril not even enough to hit the nose hairs. When I asked what she was testing for she said the flu 'but he didn't let her'. I asked if I could try and I swabbed each nostril. She also acted irritated when I asked for his vital signs. All of her actions seemed like she didn't want to care for us. The phelbotimist Cindy was very friendly and showed genuine concern for his symptoms. She took the time, while she was looking for a vein, to talk about the bad weather we were having. She treated us like a person who was in need of service instead of a burden or disruption from her conversation at the desk. The physician was thorough and competent in his exam but who cares when you have to deal with the staff that's rude. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS CLINIC!! Update (increased from 1 star): I did speak with the lead of the office before I left (I wrote the review while I was there). She was apologetic and appreciative of my feedback. She encouraged me to try other first med facilities and not to write off the entire group because of 1 bad apple. I agreed, Great Job with service recovery (I should have gotten her name)!!! read more
