Horrible place! Do not come here. It's ghetto, dirty location & he SCAMS THE CUSTOMERS. This Carlos "guy" charges ridiculous expensive and does not do a good job! I brought in a first communion dress to get tailored and it seemed like he never did anything to it! The dress was still super long. I feel ripped off. He also broke the zipper and replaced it with an off white almost yellow looking zipper, it did not match the white dress. When I brought it up to his attention he did not let me speak, he was extremely rude and had no intention to resolve this issue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Stay away from here. read more

My new go-to tailor shop! I was looking for a tailor shop that would not rush their job and still do amazing in a timely matter and Concepcion's Tailor Shop did just that and beyond. I had a bridesmaid dress that I believed was not going to look good even after it got fixed, I had no hope for it at all because I basically needed a whole completely different dress. I did not get the tailor's name but he did WONDERS to this dress, WONDERS!!! He pinned me up real good (super tight just how I liked it) and even gave me tips to make this dress look better. He is super affordable, I paid less than a hundred for this tailoring and that's including a tip. I was expecting him to be done in a week or maybe even two, but he was super fast and was done in 2 days! I'm super petite so it's discouraging to go to places because I know they will never have my size but now I know where to go. He even said he will be waiting for my wedding day because he knows nothing is going to fit me and I just might take his offer lol. By the way, it was difficult for me to locate this shop since I have never been inside this plaza but we called him prior and he helped us in directions. This tailor shop is located inside the Plaza on the corner far right side if facing North. I'm late on this review, but I'm finally getting around to it. I think I'm like 4 months late on this. Oops! I'm super happy with the alterations on my bridesmaid gown. The bridal shop where I bought the dress wanted to charge me $120 to make alterations to my gown! The other bridesmaids got their dresses altered at the bridal shop and their dresses didn't fit them as well as mine did for way less than what they paid. The owner was super attentive to what I wanted and he was very thorough with how he worked on my dress. His suggestions were spot on and I cannot say enough good things about his handiwork. He made my dress fit me like a glove and I was very happy with how I looked in my gown. I know this place is a little hard to find but let me tell you, it's worth it. I am so grateful I found this place thanks to Yelp! I was in desperate need of getting my Jovani dress cut because it was too long and needed it for the weekend. I went to Concepcion's Tailor Shop on a Tuesday and my dress was ready to be picked up on Thursday. Wow! it fit like a glove. I had looked at several locations in Downey and they would not assist me because of the short time and since it is prom season they needed more time. I was so relieved when I found this place however make sure you call the number on here so they give you instructions on how to navigate your way through the swap meet to their location. I learned the hard way by going in on my own and ending up at the wrong tailor and almost went home but decided to call and the owner answer right away and directed me to him. I needed a football jersey tailored by Monday morning and Teresa was able to do it right on the spot the Sunday before. Within the one hour of waiting, I was able to get breakfast and also look around the other small shops within the Swapmeet. The work that was done is of knowledge and experience. Carlos helped me with suggestions because I had never owned a suit jacket before and the work and suggestions were incredible. In addition they worked on a nice dress shirt for me and gave it an Italian cut in back and adjusted the cuffs/sleeve length for me. It looks so professional.
