She's always supportive of whatever style I want and adds her own touch to it. She also makes her own oils and uses them on your hair. My favorite is the strawberry, it smells amazing. One of my favorite parts of this shop is that they are SOO affordable, only $60 for wash, retwist aaaand a style. Some styles cost more but they're still reasonable. I always look forward to a good laugh, great music and leaving feeling like my best self after I leave my monthly appointment here.

So I went to the salon hoping she would be available. However, I was informed that she was off that day, but never received a response from Ella via phone. So I asked if any other stylists knew how to do short hair and if an appt was available today or if a walk-in was available now. Stylist Nikki had an opening later that afternoon. So, I left and returned for the scheduled appointment. My hair was not touched until 30 minutes after my appointment which was a negative sign for me because I am not use to waiting 30 minutes with an appt (15 min is understandable, maybe even 20 if it is not the norm and previous experience shows this does not happen often). I sat for a very long time at the wash bowl, maybe an additional 40 to 50 minutes... not because the conditioner was not ready to be washed out, but because she was still working on a client's hair. My hair normally air dries within 5 minutes and 15 to 20 minutes when mousse is used and I have to go under the dryer. However, I was left under the dryer for 1 hr and then was told to stay under the dryer for another 20min... again not because my hair was not dry, but because the stylist was still working on the same client's hair. This is what stylists tell clients when they are behind schedule. They make it seem like you need more time under the dryer or need to let a conditioner sit longer instead of admitting that they overbooked appts. Since my hair was dry, I lifted the dryer (refusing to continue to play the waiting game) and informed the stylist who confirmed it was dry. I tried to be understandable because my appt was made the same day, but the waiting game was ridiculous. The stylist could have said she has an opening, but there would be a wait or she could have said I do not have an opening today. I was extremely disappointed with the time it took from the beginning of my appt until the end. Women who choose to spend an entire day in the salon don't mind dealing with this type of experience, but I have never and will never accept this type of experience from a professional licensed stylist. Two stylists continued to drop combs on the floor and I watched them pick it up and reuse it without washing it off smh The price for a shampoo, curl, and cut was $65. I have short hair. So the cut was just to keep the hair off of my ears and neck to keep the short look that I like... the curls lasted for a few hours smh So my visit was a waste of time and money. Also, the stylists never engaged in any conversation with me which is not something that I'm use to. All she wanted to know is will I be booking another appt, which I declined to do so...
