I had just got my hair cut at Great Clips last week off Wise Ave. I was again dissatisfied with my hair uneven. I got some pictures of what I was aiming for and yelped the highest rated hair salon near me and found 1535 Hair Salon. I saw Gerrie (Beatrice) celebrated twice so I requested her. She was able to fit me in the same day! I emphasized that I wanted the front of my hair long and the back short. Gerrie listened to me and said we would start with the back and would check in as we went to see if I wanted shorter. It was great that she was listening and would work with me! Gerrie did have quite a few interruptions as people talked to her, a popular lady. Gerrie talked nonstop and told me stories about her friends. I saw Gerrie wrapping my hair around so my Bob would be symmetrical. For the most part it was except the very front. Which I can fix later if it still bothers me. Exceptional at getting my color exactly right every time. I ask for a little darker in the fall and lighter in the spring. Gerri gets it perfect every time. I used to pay 3 times the price for cut, color and blowout service in Hunt Valley and it was never perfect. Studio 1535 has excellent pricing and an experienced and lovely team. read more

My experience was mediocre. I asked for curtain bangs and I got something I could have done myself at home. Then I asked for a blow out and my hair is still wet, straight, and throbbing from her excessive pulling with a cheap brush. Not to mention my scbeing burned by the blow dryer. I will not be coming back. I've never had a hairstylist care so little about their client. Prices are low and their service reflects it. read more

Hidden Gem! Cindy is an amazing stylist. I have never felt so happy and excited over a new hairstyle and color. Coming in my hair looked terrible. I had a horrible "ombré" color that was not blended well. She was very precise and took her time to make sure everything was perfect. The color is exactly how I want it and the length is perfect so I can easily maintain. Everyone was pleasant and the environment was friendly. The price was very reasonable. The shop sits back in Danville shopping center on Merritt Blvd. Once you find it you will never have to go anywhere else!!! read more

I want to start this by saying that they DO NOT give refunds no matter how poorly your hair was done. SUMMARY of my review(in case you don't want to read it): I asked for a specific hair color, was told it was possible, walked out with patchy uneven color, and an uneven haircut. My stylist was kind enough to offer to fix it personally. I didn't feel comfortable with that after thinking about it so I asked for a different hair stylist. The owner made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome when I made my request and even tried to tell me my hair was fine (trust me it isn't). Anyway, I paid $215 for dry,damaged, uneven hair that makes me feel embarrassed to have. Trying to style my hair is now a daily struggle and I'm frustrated with how little the owner values customer service. What happened: I went in to have my hair done and was told by my stylist that it could be done in one visit. Some background information, I haven't dyed my hair in over 5 years, I have naturally dark hair, and I asked for grey/silver hair. I should also point out that I did ask about the process beforehand which was why I asked about the number of visits it would take. She started by bleaching my entire hair,and then dyed my roots black to help blend/transition into the grey. The photo I showed her had little to no black. After 6 hrs and toning twice(the first time had a lot if patches of blonde) I ended up with half of my hair black, half grey, chunks of blonde/bleached hair coming through,damaged hair and a crooked haircut. I even have random sections of blonde closer to my head (random streaks that don't seem at all intentional) I didn't notice the cut or how uneven the color was because my hair was curled before I left. The color was so poorly done I can't even wear my hair down without feeling embarrassed. My stylist was friendly so I don't mean anything against her but if she wasn't able to dye my hair grey safely and successfully in one visit she should have mentioned it before getting started. When I mentioned the random patches of blonde and the streak near the top of my head, she reminded me that she warned it would fade. I 100% understand that but this was literally 2 days after getting it colored and only 1 VERY LIGHT wash with shampoo she specifically recommended for maintaining the color. She offered to fix it for me if I came in again, which after thinking about I didn't feel comfortable with. If she wasn't able to cut my hair straight or work with virgin hair, how could she fix my now damaged and uneven hair color? Anyway, I called and asked to reschedule with a different stylist and I had to speak to the owner. She started the conversation sounding annoyed and frustrated. She tried to convince me that the person did my hair correctly despite the fact that it looks nothing like what I asked for, and even told me to read an article she posted about silver hair. (Which I had already done). The article states that it takes multiple visits, which I told her that wasn't my stylist assured me. Anyway, she made me feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable that I won't be going there again. I am definitely sharing my story on every avenue possible so that other people can avoid going through what I went through. Word of advice, save your money and go somewhere else. If you're unhappy with a service it should be refunded to you and you most definitely should not be made to feel like an idiot or uncomfortable to request it be corrected in some way. read more

People working at the salon were very nice, however at the end of the visit my haircut did not meet my expectations. Asked for layers by showing multiple pictures of how I wanted to look. My hair is now cut blunt straight with no visible layers despite asking the dresser to correct it. My hair looks exactly like it did when I walked in but only 2 inches shorter. Disappointed with how my hair looks and have to wait several months for it to grow out and to achieve the look. read more

If I could give this salon a 0, I would! I wanted my hair trimmed and dyed. The stylist chopped my hair dry. I needed a half inch taken off the ends and she kept cutting. No matter how many times I asked, she said she was blending. I left in tears before she even mixed the dye. The manager didn't even apologize. She just bluntly told me to leave! I have only ever been to the hair cuttery or great clips and not all that great of an experience so I googled "best spiral perms near 21219" and this WONDERFUL place came up (and there was an option to email them to check prices and have someone call me). I emailed them and they got back to me the next day (it was a Sunday) and informed me someone would call the next day to schedule an appointment and sure enough they did. I scheduled and appointment at 2pm with Ms. Gerri. Two days prior to me coming in she called and asked me if I ever bleached my hair and do I color it. I made my appointment and showed up 10 mins early. Ms. Gerri was with another customer and she finished at 2pm and got straight to doing my hair. I told her what I "thought" I wanted (spiral perm & cut) but showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and she advised me on a better option of the spiral perm. She was extremely pleasant, well informed, she kept the convo going which made the 3 hours fly by, & did the best job on my hair anyone have ever done. I am very pleased with my results and would recommend them to anyone. read more
