I decided to switch on my nail tech in Canton only because I would be in the chair way too long. I loved that they were perfectionists but I couldn't always commit to a 2hr fill in after a long work day. This nail salon is seriously so great. The techs are all very accommodating. I've been getting my nails done for about 7 years and I've tried acrylics, gel x, builder gel, TAP, and dip and it's always extremely difficult to find a salon that really cares about figuring out the shape and build you want. It's also hard to find a tech if you have thick nail beds that is able to get the product on thin enough that you don't have bubble nails. I always want a square slight coffin and it's hard to achieve with thicker nail surface area but Lee did a fabulous job. It's always a struggle to advocate for yourself in these environments and they are so accommodating. They were willing to test out many looks and showed me lots of polishes so I could find the right one. I got TAP gel and it looks incredible! Was scheduled for a Spa Pedicure. Technician started on time, 1/2 way through she received a phone call, got up and left, never said a word, came back about 7 minutes later, never said word. Music playing in the background was nice but then you have the "receptionist" watching something on his phone with the speaker volume turned up. The pedicure was okay. Since moving to Canton, I've been using this nail salon for about 7 months. But beware- the colors that you pick will not match the actual color in the associated bottles (that they put on your nails). This has been an ongoing problem, and I always end up with something different than expected.. The Manager says they are in the process of replacing their color wheels, and most of them are faded. Recently, I went back to get something fixed a few days after getting a service . They had no record of me getting the service there, despite the fact that I had logged in into their system and paid through their system The mgr have pointed out to me that their nail techs dont know how to use the computer so while I've been there every couple weeks and I thought I was accruing points, the male manager said " Most of the girls aren't text savvy enough to log their services if I'm not here.". The first time I went to polished it was perfect! I loved my dip manicure with extensions and my husband had a pedicure with hot rock massage. Unfortunately, that's where our good experiences ended. Each time we returned, with scheduled appointments mind you, we waited nearly an hour to even get our nails started. With people being taken back before us even though we had appointments and had been there longer waiting. His feet were cut and bleeding after the pedicures both times we returned. They do do a great job at nail art that I requested, but it's just not worth the hassle. read more

Cindy serviced me this time. I was torn between OPI Passion gel color and OPI put it in neutral gel color. Cindy tried it on her own nails and advice that both of the shades are very very faint, I'm pretty adamant on trying OPI passion and we went with that this time for both my mani (with matte top coat) and pedi. She did a great job with the application and cleaning of nails, she did however pricked me a little and it drew blood (my ring finger), but I'm known to have my cuticles very close to my finger hence it happens sometimes, she apologized and made sure she did whatever she could to stop the bleeding. 10/10 would come here over and over again. read more

I have been to Polished about 5 times now and have been really wanting to make it work here. On my last two pedicures the gel lifted immediately and I had to go back to have them corrected, so I had been on the fence about whether I was going to go back. I decided to give it one more try for a pedicure today. I got a classic pedicure with a callus removal and regular polish ($42). By the time I was finishing up at the salon I was already a bit disappointed-- my pedicure did not look nearly as clean as it should have; it was extremely lumpy and paint was speckled all over my skin. I hoped it just needed to dry and it might look better. As I left, I noticed I smudged my pedicure (which was my fault) and went back to ask if anyone might be able to fix it. I was thankful the nail tech offered to fix it, but instead of removing the polish they just painted over the entire smudge which naturally left a huge lump (see pic). I really appreciate the nail tech fixing my smudge but couldn't help but feel disappointed about the lack of effort and attention given towards my pedicure. Pedicures are a luxury treatment, especially now for me as a student, so I was pretty bummed that I regretted paying for this service when I might've done a better job myself for free. I hope this review will be helpful for Polished, and I hope it can correct these things to succeed in the neighborhood. The only reason I gave two stars (instead of 1) is because of Chau, who has done my manicures before and is excellent. The interior is also nice. Unfortunately I will be back on hunt for a different nail salon as Polished has consistently been below average for me. read more

Made an appointment over a week ago. Arrived and checked in. After 15min of nobody acknowledging us, I asked the girl at the desk if there was something else I should have done. She said "no" I said "ok because our appointment was for 15min ago" she responded "oh it's ok, we're just running behind!" ESPECIALLY if you have sense as to what you want done to your hands. I had a 5pm appointment. I showed up at 5:36 and it was busy. I was asked to wait. So, I waited. And waited. No worries! At 6:45 I was seated and Max began soaking off my gel and had another woman to tend to at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking. Order: Gel soak off. SNS Full set + tips aka "extension" Color: Ombré I asked him to use NU 62 as my first color and ombré into the white. (I prefer my nail beds to be less pink because of my complexion.) Max cuts my nails down to apply the tips. He proceeds to tell me that ombré is only pink and white. (No fool. Ombré effect can be done with other colors, too!) ‍ Although I showed him a photo and gave him the exact colors of Nugensis powder (that he has in stock), he insisted he knew what colors to use. Next, Max cuts down the tips to a length I approved. Usually, the nail tech would compare lengths and ensure they are relatively the same length. Max failed to do this, so I examined the length. I noticed that all were similar, except my two pointer fingers. One nail was obviously much longer than the other. I kindly asked Max to make them comparable and he (literally) lost it. He said "I'm going to do it my way" with attitude. Excuse me?! (Who is paying who?) I told him it was fine to do it "his way" so long as it gets done. He slammed his arts & crafts box shut and said he wasn't going to do my nails. Haha! "Okay Max, I understand it's busy and you're clearly overwhelmed. He was so rude he didn't even realize we were saying the same thing. He asked me to move seats because I was "disturbing his business". (Ladies and gents, this is a slick precursor to being denied service.) I moved to where he asked me to sit and when the lady came over to pick up where he left off, he told her that I wasn't going to get my nails done here today. WTH?! Because I asked you to cut a nail down?! (By this point, I'm convinced Max needs his next dose of medication) He went on to work on the other woman's nails that he was multi-tasking. The went on to discuss me and the experience was made worse when he recruited her to advocate for him. (My response to her: Just mind your own business and do what you want to your own nails. Don't worry about my nails when you have blue nubs for fingers. And magically, a new technician approached me and began working on my nails. Queann!!! She asked me what was wrong. I asked her to take a look at my nails and insisted she tell me what is wrong. Within 2 seconds, she noticed the drastically uneven nails. (Probably bc she wasn't blinded by her ego like Max). Queann went above and beyond. She noticed that cutting the nails to the same length would mean they would be shorter than the other 8 fingers. I guess Max was going to "fix it" by watering my nail and giving it sunlight so it would grow?? ‍ Queann removed my left tip, reapplies a new one and cut it to a similar length as my other 9 fingers. We conversed as she dipped my nails into the powder one by one. As a customer, you can immediately tell when someone is rushing you along and when someone is doing quality work. She went on to use the color I asked for. She shaped it meticulously. Queann did an amazing job! Total: $70 + $30 tip to Queann = $100 That's $100 spent on what I want instead of what Max and the ugly lady wanted for me. Moral: If Queann is available, then choose her!!! I was five minutes late to my appointment (I live about 30 footsteps away from this salon) due to a stolen package at my apartment that I was disputing with the leasing office. Upon walking in, the man sitting right in front of the entrance said to me loudly in front of other clients "YOURE LATE, CAN YOU BE ON TIME NEXT TIME?!". I was so confused considering it was only five minutes and life happens. I apologized for being late as well. I have been here previously where I was waiting 15+ minutes because THEY are running behind. Never have I complained or shouted in the salon to their staff in front of other customers. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNCALLED FOR. I understand I was five minutes late to my appointment and they wanted to address it with me but there is a polite and professional way to do this. If you want inconsistent customer service and flies/ nats flying in your face while you're getting your service completed, go here. In the meantime, I will be going BACK to the nail salon I've been going to for 10+ years in Howard County where customers are treated with respect and the salon is clean. Updated review: I had come here a handful of times in 2018 and really enjoyed the experience and quality. Since I started getting my nails done in 2019 I've had a completely different experience. The place is always packed, which is a good thing for them, but they won't give you any anticipated wait times. My biggest problem with the salon is the quality of the work. Every time I've gone recently my nails chip within a matter of days...gel nails. Every time. I started going to a place in Hunt Valley by my work and I've never had an issue with chipping. So, the management reached out to me after this review and asked that I come in to correct the issue. I had the time and events this weekend and was happy to have my nails fixed! I am SO GLAD I went in. Everyone I interacted with thanked me for coming back and giving it another shot, didn't make it awkward or anything. I didn't want to be the whiny yelper and I was never made to feel that way. They agreed that my manicure wasn't good and they were more than happy and gracious to make it right. They also let me know that the tech in question had been talked to repeatedly about her work and she made the decision to leave the salon after multiple complaints around the same time as my review. I definitely didn't want to get someone fired and was relieved to know that wasn't the situation. The best part? Max did a FANTASTIC job on my manicure. Seriously. I also got a wonderful pedicure. I ran some errands on the way home, and I kid you not, three separate people complimented my manicure! My hands and feet feel so pampered and perfect and it was just such a lovely reminder of how much I love nail day. I'll definitely be back. I go here because it's close to home and easy parking. They do an okay job. The space is nice and bright, although when there is a Rev class going on next door and the music is pumping, it's not as relaxing. I usually get a pedicure and a gel manicure. This last time I went, the woman was pretty rough with my feet when trimming the cuticles. The manicure was just okay too - not as polished as other places. Really wanted to like this place. I've gone several times thinking maybe I just was catching them on a bad day. Went today for a full acrylic set with a black French top. The manicurist argued with me practically the whole time about what base color to use. She was rushed because they were busy (understandable), but don't dismiss what I want. She even chose a base color and started applying it before asking if I liked it. The end result looks like a cheesy 1980's manicure that cost me $70. I'm immediately going home to remove it.
