    Carne asada tacos

Cool spot with a tiki bar downstairs. The tacos were just okay though sadly. Maybe they were partially hoping that people would just come up from the downstairs bar to eat after drinking a few so they wouldn't have to put too much effort in.

I love to support local. This place is conveniently located around my work & a cute vibe at night. People were so very friendly, the corn tortilla was good. I thought the food was very meh..... tacos were better than asada fries tho, the chips & salsa was not good because of the salsa ;( to be honest, everything felt very american & mid

I ordered the Asada Loaded fries and I enjoyed my meal. The steak was seasoned very well and fries were crispy and not soggy. I will say service for food was fast even though it was a busy night. I will definitely be coming back to grab some more.

I got the shrimp taco and 2 fish tacos they don't have chicken and my friend had the carne asada fries. The shrimp taco was good but the fried fish tacos were not good and I didn't finished them. The meat of the fish had a weird taste and residue on it. My friend carne asada were initially good but after the top layer it was really overwhelming salty like the accidentally dropped the salt canister in the fries. And then they had lemon water available that was not good either.

Conchita shares a building with Kon Tiki bar but is open for lunch, while the bar that is downstairs does not open until later in the day. I stopped in for lunch at a bit before noon a couple of weeks after their opening. All ordering is done at the wall kiosk and credit card payment only. Conchita's menu is small and simple - 5 styles of tacos and fries. Tacos are $4.49 each or 3 for $11.99. I chose the pastor, shrimp and calabaza with corn tortilla. At $4 each these were some of the smallest tacos around, and using only one tortilla, be prepared for them to rip apart as soon as you pick them up - grab a fork at the condiment bar. The pastor was decent as were the 3 small shrimps on my second offering, The Calabaza was nothing more than diced zucchini, peppers and pico - bland. Overall, these were not worth $4 or $4.50 a piece, a solid in house option for when you need to sober up from having too many Mai Tai's downstairs, but definitely not destination worthy for a lunch. When there are so many authentic taquerias just a few blocks away on SW Blvd that offer cheaper, bigger and tastier; I'm not sure that I would go back for food, but I am eager to slam a Zombie or two at their sister bar.

WOW, the homemade corn tortillas are sooooo good! The al pastor is perfectly seasoned. The fish ones are just right crunchy, but still tender inside and light. I wanted to try them all! I will be back!

The tacos here are great! The restaurant has a patio that is nice to sit out at on a nice night as well.

I absolutely loved the vibe of this place, the order yourself tablet was simple and easy to use. the food was amazing, i had both tacos and fries and the el pastor with the pineapple is amazing i could eat so many. my carne asada fries were good, a little too seasoned of fries for my taste but i would order again. the pico and green salsa are great add ons for both tacos and fries. overall new favorite taco joint in kc

Tiki drinks from Kon Tiki & the al pastor, shrimp & fish tacos from Conchita. Left taco is a flour tortilla, the rest are corn tortillas.

I wish I would've had more time to look around the market because it looked like they had a lot of good stuff but I'll have to go back and see. They do have tables inside that you can eat at. The food was done at the quoted time and was accurate. The one individual I encountered was friendly. The menu was very straightforward-tacos, burritos, and a few other items, all can be customized. I had to get an order of chips and queso. I really liked their queso. It had good flavor and wasn't overly spicy. The chips were fresh and held up to the queso nicely. I'm definitely probably alway going to order this when I go. I also tried a taco with carne asada. The tacos are the street variety but they are really good sized. They don't skimp on the meat. And the carne asada was really good. No gristle or gross bits. It was chopped finely and I'd definitely order it again. I also had to try a burrito. I tried the El pastor for that and added on all the toppings-cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. I also opted for extra meat because it was super cheap-like $1, so why not? Again, I was not disappointed. I did throw my burrito on the good 'ol George Foreman when I got home because they don't grill it at all and I wanted some grill marks on that tortilla. Otherwise, the el pastor was flavorful and tender and the toppings were all fresh. Per usual, my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I saved half of my burrito, but it was a welcome leftover meal the following day. Definitely check them out if you're on the boulevard and want some tasty, Mexican grub.

I happened to have been there on Sundays do the shop item area has been closed but it's fun to glance at some of the wares they have for you to purchase as you wait on your order. I've had birria tacos and we usually get a bunch of tamales as well! We freeze some and eat on them later. Yum! Everything is good and authentic. Everyone we have encountered has been nice. We will definitely stop back by when we are in the area!

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

You're right in the KC Live space of the P&L and there are drinks aplenty, so drop in! The food is about it what you'd think, but not 'off the chain' or anything. The house salsa has a firm punch about it, and when riding atop a housemade tortilla chip, it mixes quite well. I highly recommend the Spicy Margarita which is not for the faint of heart but not so spicy that you're calling the fire brigade. Great lime base, solid tequila, and sliced jalapeños make for a refreshing and enjoyable cocktail. The Carne Asada Tacos are a good choice, maybe a touch light on the carne, however, but tasty. Pricing is what it is for the location. A couple could get in & out with a cocktail and dinner for around $60, so that's reasonable. Service is friendly and they turn things quickly, the food comes fresh & ready, and it seems to be well-run. It gets loud in here, so be prepared, but that's just KC Live.
