I am writing an updated review to reflect the professionalism that Cellular Intelligence provided as a result of the original experience I wrote about. After writing the review, I was not expecting a response or anything to change regarding their policy and both occurred. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least and can confidently say that their facial service itself now matches their customer service that was a problem previously. For company's to survive and thrive, they need to know how to adjust their business model to accommodate customers, but still hold true to their company values. In this instance, I think Cellular Intelligence now has that balance based off of how they handled their customer feedback. read more

I had a wonderful experience. I too purchased the groupon and loved the derma flash. I've had peels and micro dermabrasions at regular spas before but the med spa is definitely several steps up. My skin looks amazing and I'm excited to continue going on a regular basis as I purchased the package. I also bought a couple products that were suggested to me. I'm serious about taking care of my skin and improving it so I fully expect when I go to a spa that the aesthetician will recommend products I have never been exposed to in order for me to do my best between appointments to keep my skin looking great. I have visited the spa on two occasions. Once to receive injectibles and the other for a facial. The Doctor that did the injections took her time to properly place the filler. she made my lips look great....... not too fat or fake looking. They looked very natural. She also filled in the frown lines on either side of my nose. The final result was great. All my friends said I looked 'rested'. That is a sign of a good procedure. Carrie did my facial. She was very thoughtful to my comfort and skin type and listened carefully to my concerns and answered all my question. I have had facials from may locations throughout the world, and this spa rates up with the best. I will be back next time I visit Chicago (which is often). read more

I, too, am a Groupon client who discovered C-I via their offer. I've just completed my 6th dermaflash facial, and purposely waited to write a review. I'm a 60+ year-old woman, and although I've always paid attention to my skin and used quality skin products, this stage and age often produces some surprises. I have been so pleased with the results of C-I's facials, that I plan to sign up for another package at full price. Beth, the aesthetic director, is very professional, and the results were amazing. My skin never looked, nor felt, better. In response to those who had a negative experience, I never once, in all six visits, felt that the receptionist was rude, pushy, or dismissive. Both Jessica and Maria have a very professional demeanor: gracious in their welcome, thorough in answering questions and providing direction. In response to "being pushy about their products," I've never experienced it. One must remember, any spa or salon will encourage a client to purchase their products, as that IS a component of their business, and it's just "good business." "Suggesting" is not "pushing." When I declined, explaining that I have a product line that I've been using for years, with which I am quite pleased, there was never another mention of buying the C-I products. I got the groupon $55 for $125 derma flash facial. For the location, it's really a good deal. However, the person who did my facial wasn't very enthusiastic. The product she put on my face at the end coagulated with the previous layer of product and stuck to my hair. She just tried to use her hand to remove those instead of apologizing and choosing a different product. Also of course they would try to sell a product at the end. I wasn't sure how the effect of the facial would turn out so I just ask for samples and she said she couldn't except for one. But after talking about more products that i turned she forgot to make the sample for me. She used a surgical blade for scape off dead skin and she somehow left a 2 cm would on my face that took a week to heal.. It's fine for the price I paid..i already have breakouts a few days after the treatment and not sure if i see the effect: i've had better that is. But if i have to pay the original price? meh read more

For the longest time I thought that facial spas were just an expensive way of making you feel good about your skin for a few days so. The redness, uneven skin tone and texture quickly resurfaced and I became dissatisfied with my skin again. Then I was referred by a friend to Cellular Intelligence and met Carrie about 6 months ago. She has been amazing in her analysis and treatment of what would be most beneficial for my skin issues. She is very knowledgeable, professional and really into achieving the best results possible. I started out receiving the DermaFlash facials which are great. I told Carrie about the multitude of products recommended at other spas and dermatologists over the years to improve my skin issues of mild redness, uneven skin tone and texture, none of which seemed to make any lasting difference. That's when we discussed the PhotoFacial series. I had lots of questions of which Carrie answered. Because I have been so pleased with my treatments and the products she had been recommending up to this point, I was more inclined to seriously consider this series of facials as it is definitely an investment. But let me say, after receiving 2 of the 3, it has been the best investment I have made in my appearance. My skin is the best it's looked in years, no redness, even tones and great texture. The first time I visited CI Med Spa, I had a dermaplane facial...A-mazing! I'm your typical non-observant guy, so regular facials are nice but I'm sorry...pore size isn't how I measure a facial...visual results that I can see are. Dermaplane, OMG..my skin felt like a baby's bottom and looked incredible..I think I yelped about it, if not...it is excellent. I went back two weeks ago, and had Ulthera because my skin didn't feel as firm as it used to and I do try to eat right, hydrate properly, and exercize. Again, I'm a guy, non-observant...anyway, Ulthera ROCKS!! I would type in all caps but know how annoying that is...this is the best treatment I've ever heard of. In a little over 1 hour the skin on my face changed to where I could see it...and I walked out the door and went back to work...and people in my office noticed the difference!! ...and it only gets better over time!! Toned, tightened, lifted is what the ad says...it does what it says. I'm hooked, addicted..call it what you want, each week that passes I can feel the tightening around my eyes, under my chin and on my jaw line...I can't believe the difference for something that was non-invasive, and I will definitely go back after time for another treatment. I bought a daily discount to cellular intelligence for a dermaflash facial. I went in and had it done and it was fine. They use a razor to take off the first layer of your skin. It didn't hurt and my skin looked great afterwards. However I have a lot of problems with the spa. 1) there is no dermatologist. The facialists are all trained but no dermatologist is involved. When I asked my dermatologist what he thought about it he said that if it felt nice great but otherwise it does not really do anything. 2) They are really pushy. After my daily discount I had to decide right away if I wanted a package that I could get a percentage off. I was not allowed to wait a week to see how it looked. I bought one because I thought it looked nice. 3) the facial looked good for a couple days and then it went back to what it was before. 4) They are really pushy. They want you to buy all the products and even after you say no they keep pushing. then they want you to buy other facials. Every time I went in (6 times) they tried to sell me something. It was never a relaxing facial because they keep pushing products on you. 5) Price-it is really expensive and the results dont last. Overall i would say if you have a special event and you want to look great spend the money (and it is really expensive) and go for it. otherwise find something better read more

I have had a great experience with this spa! I have been getting facials here for six months, and renewed my package! Carrie is amazing and so easy to talk to! I don't feel that I'm being treated like just a client. At times, I've had difficulty getting through at the reception desk on the phone, but overall, I've had a wonderful experience. Had MicroNeedling performed at Cellular Intelligence and am so impressed with this new technology! The procedure was minimally uncomfortable (but an awesome staff constantly monitors your comfort level) and immediate results looked like a mild sunburn; the results after 48 hrs are wonderful. Soft skin and a brighter creamy complexion. Do yourself a favor and invest in a high end moisturizer so results are amplified :) I will definitely invest in this procedure again! read more

Rebecca has been doing my dermaplaning on a monthly basis for about a year and a half and I have consistently been thrilled with my results. So when she recommended that I give the pixel/fractional laser resurfacing a try, I didn't hesitate. Rebecca was so professional throughout the procedure and walked me through everything she was doing. Afterwards, she told me exactly what to expect for the days following the procedure so that there were no surprises at all and told me exactly how to take care of my skin for the best results. Within the first week or two after the procedure, I could definitely tell the difference in my skin. However, what I didn't expect at all was that others could tell the difference as well! Being a former lifeguard during my teenage years, I suffered from a good amount of sun damage. The resurfacing not only helped lighten up most of that old sun damage but my skin now glows, looks smoother, and actually looks tighter as well. I had my second (and final) round of pixel/resurfacing in the end of December and I am still so excited over my results. I consistently get compliments on my skin which still amazes me - I really thought I would be the only one that would be able to tell the difference. I have gone here a few times and the estheticians and receptionist are wonderful!! My only complaint is the manager, I think his name is Rick or Rich... not even sure because he is always too busy on the phone or internet to look up and acknowledge anyone coming in. I also have heard him talk down and condescending to the girls that work there. I have actually thought of going elsewhere because of him, but everyone else is so great that's what keeps me coming back!! read more

I wish they had zero stars. I have had Botox 6 times before- all the while purchasing 25 units or less with great results. I went to cellular intelligence for their new client special and purchased 30 units upon the recommendation of the RN. She applied many of the injections around my hairline which I thought was bizarre. Then my eyebrows looked like Dr. Spok and my 11's were still present so I went back for a touch up and she convinced me I needed 12 units more. So 42 units total. After only 6 weeks my lines came back and that has NEVER happened to me. I went in to express my dissatisfaction and she tried to get me to buy more! I think they use expired or old viles as this treatment felt differently than the other treatments I have received. When you get botox injected you feel it in your skin. This felt like nothing. I think they're a scam and will never go back nor recommend them. VERY disappointed. read more
