I went in a few weeks ago to re-up my Masseter Botox -- I just moved from DC so this was my first experience in Chicago getting any work done, and I am so glad I picked Northwestern Specialists! The woman who did my Botox was lovely, talked about what I wanted/needed and asked lots of questions about my previous experience so that she could provide the perfect care, which was thoughtful (and also super professional!). The Botox itself was painless (they have the buzzer for you to use which is awesome for someone with no pain tolerance like me!) and was completed in under 20 minutes. It has set in now and I am no longer waking up with headaches/tight jaw, so definitely works for TMJ girlies like myself. I also thought the pricing was super fair, very much in line with what I've paid before and the touchups being included the first two weeks is super generous (I didn't need any, but neat perk!). My initial visit put me on the moon: Dr. S was timely and wanted to make things happen. His staff in the room works for me as they were all professional, personable and knowledgeable while being open to getting information for me about the look I did not want. Sidebar: I brought in pictures. Anywhoo, the front desk was personable, helpful and professional including my greeting to my exit. Unfortunately, I parked in the wrong ramp so there was no comp. What can improve: 1) follow-up. I didn't hear from anyone after the insurance submission. I don't know if they appealed or have a business manager or office manager that reaches out to just say here's our cost, out of pocket, or if they feel folks wont come up with it. 2) I learned fromy insurance billing that Dr. S is out of my network but I was prepared to pay that BECAUSE I have seen his work and talked to ladies for candid feedback/testimonals. 3) Bill arrived but I didn't see a website to pay online which I would have much rather alas I called in Friday, March 21st and the person that answered was less than stellar compared to my physical visit. To wrap it up, I asked if I may have the receipt emailed and she called out another email address. She sounded incredulous as if I don't know my classic 1990s Yahoo email that I've had since freshmen year. Anywhoo, I'm not the Gmail girl. We have our school email for Life so I use it for business. My point: let's not be testy like I don't know my email. Anywhoo...I, in turn, made it easier for her in this moment: Rather than spell out the school email we'll just slap yahoo on there and be done. Tbh, her response bothered me more than the office lack of follow-up once the denial arrived. C'est la vié. Yes, I can recommend Dr. S for the work seen on others and his let's get it done attitude. I visited Dr. Neil Fine for a breast augmentation to replace my implants with smaller ones along with a lift in January 2023. I trusted Dr. Fine to perform the surgery without issues since he performed my original breast augmentation in the 1990s. The entire experience was disastrous from the beginning. I was afforded a mere 5 minutes of conversation with Dr. Fine to discuss my procedure and review my options. There was no discussion and/or recommendation of the new breast size (breast reduction) and related procedures to be included in the surgery. After the initial meeting I was turned over to the office manager (Kendal) who was more focused on collecting payment than ensuring I had a clear understanding of the upcoming surgery. She was rude and less than professional during our interactions. On the day of surgery, it was obvious that there was no communication between Dr. Fine's office and the surgical center as the anesthesiologist was not advised that I was scheduled to receive a lift and implants. I was very uncomfortable and somewhat apprehensive laying on the bed moments begore surgery listening to the heated conversation between the doctors. However, I trusted Dr. Fine to give me the results that I paid for. Coming out of surgery and recovery I was very disappointed in the results. My breast implants were the same size as my original ones. After discussing my disappointment with Dr. Fine, he agreed to redo my implants and so I proceeded only to be disappointed again with even larger implants and uneven breasts. When confronting Dr. Fine for the second time his response was "I did my best." No concern for my appearance and displeasure with the results. This ordeal has been not only mentally anguishing, but physically as I had to go under anesthesia now three times since my original surgery. I have horrible visible scars and I'm left with botched breasts. I can't help but wonder if I weren't an African American woman would the outcome have been different? I wouldn't recommend anyone visit this surgical center and get any procedures from Dr. Fine, especially if you are a woman of color as you will be discriminated against. read more

I had a corrective surgery performed by Dr. Schierle in January, 2025 and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. Dr. Schierle and everyone on the staff have been so amazing about listening to my case and helping me to choose the best course of action in what I've found is a really complicated process. My biggest point of praise is for how accessible the staff is. Both leading up to my surgery and afterwards, I have never had a problem reaching someone when I had a question or needed help with something. I did a lot of shopping around before deciding to move forward with NSPS and the majority of the other practices I looked into were so difficult to even get ahold of someone to schedule an appointment. I'm so happy with my experience thus far and, while I'm still not fully healed from my surgery, I feel great about the final results down the road knowing I have such a great care team behind me. read more

The care I've gotten here has been great! I see Jessica Weniger, PA, for injections and she is wonderful. Very friendly and considerate, and I don't know what I'll do if she ever leaves because I can't trust anyone else to do my lips and Botox! She's very experienced and it's been about 2 years now of multiple rounds of each and I've never had a bad outcome. 10/10. They also give northwestern and Lurie employee discounts which is great, and host events where you can come watch demonstrations. I very recently got a microneedling session done as I purchased one of their seasonal specials and I'm still evaluating the results but the experience itself was great I had Ana Ibarra and it felt very thorough, I'm really hoping it works for my skin and so far it feels like it is! This spa uses a topical numbing cream that works super well so for all procedures I hardly feel it, even the lips which are supposed to be super painful (hopefully they keep it around so I never have to know!). Overall, if you're going to get something done that has the risk for injury or damage- go to somewhere you can trust with experienced and certified providers, and I would say this office is a good place for that, don't go somewhere cheap and sketchy and risk regretting it. read more

Helllloooooo relaxation! This place is fantastic! I will be back! I called to just inquire about prices and the staff were very helpful but instead of just providing prices they recommend that I come in for a (free) consult so the esthetician could evaluate the right/best service for my skin. It was easy to set up an appointment and I am so grateful that I came in versus just getting a price quote. The office is lovely, staff are very friendly, my esthetician (Britley) was amazing! More on her later. There is parking available (it's discounted with validation for multiple hours). There is pay to park in this area but this area is very, very busy. My esthetician, Britley was thorough, very knowledgeable and she got to know me during the consult. She asked about my past experiences of spa services and what my expectations were. Additionally, during the consult, she properly examined my skin and the technology here is fantastic! She was then able to determine the best service for my skin, based on science. Loved this. I felt more than comfortable and booked an appointment with ease for the following day. I received a hydro facial deluxe with Derma planning. I go into the spa room and there is a top gown for me to change into and an extremely comfortable looking bed that reclines up top and inclines by the feet annnnd bonus the bed is heated! (This is such a game-changer during the Chicago winter) There was also a blanket, the whole set up was very cozy. The overall treatment was marvelous, extremely relaxing and meticulous. Britley would check in with me every now and then which was perfect as I was very relaxed. I highly recommend this spa salon and personally I can't wait to book my next visit. They also have great videos on all social media platforms that allow you to get to know the staff more, bloopers and all lol. I had issues with an old surgery for years and visited no fewer than 15 doctors over ~8 years to find someone I could trust to address the issues. Dr. Fine and his team took time to listen to me and prepared a customized plan that addressed my needs fully. I couldn't be happier! He is truly a master of his craft - caring, focused, attentive and with low ego. He made sure I was informed and comfortable at every stage of the process and his team was in constant contact. Dr. fine did my moms Breast implants after a full mastectomy when I was a child . after a traumatic injury where i shattered my nose Dr.Schierle has fixed an amazing complex case (the bones were so crushed weeks later they didn't need to be broken in surgery ). dr. Clark Schierle also has fixed scars across my stomach from a major abdominal surgery and for the first time in years i will wear a bikini . This office is great for follow ups and the office staff Pam, Barb, & Lynn are great for making you feel comfortable and always make me smile . The doctors there all truly care and take pride in their practice . One time I had an immediate issue where a sculpture I was making fell on my head --no sweat! no ER trip ! Clark had me come in and a bit of lidocaine and a few staples later I went back to work the same day no scar . Another time I had a minor infection in a suture that was from a GI surgeon Clark was in surgery and so Dr.Ellis took care of it same day as i called! Truly this practice not only treats the body, but heals the WHOLE person . They care about their patients well being , do a great deal of charity work , and additionally if the above isn't enough every doctor in that practice has an amazing bedside manner (in addition to excellent fine motor skills & being genius smart !) . I've been coming here for a while now. I would always see Amber for my lips as she is amazing, knows exactly how I like my lips, and is very careful using minimal amount and allows me to watch with a handheld mirror while she is adding to my lips. Unfortunately, Amber left, and I still had my filler left & I had asked to see someone to add some more. I had gone in around Feb 6, and saw Jessica. She was a newer specialist. I wanted to even out my lips some more and add more volume to them. She was very friendly, & I showed her in the mirror that I wanted more done to my right side as I felt it wasn't as even to my left. Normally, Amber would put a topical on and it would numb me for 5-10 minutes before she went in with the needle. Jessica did not numb me, or give me any ice, which of course made me really nervous and she had just gone right on in with the needle. To be honest, it really freaked me out! I also didn't see what she was doing while she was. She also seemed to misunderstand that I meant MY right side, NOT hers & started putting the filler in the wrong side. I soon noticed that and told her I meant my other side and not the side the was putting more into. I was really nervous then. Eventually all the filler was in, she told me it looked really pretty, so I trusted her judgement and left. I walked to my car where I then sat for a decent amount of time freaking out about my lips and noticing how one side was so much bigger than the other and how my lips looked very uneven. It made me extremely paranoid, so I found a new MedSpa to go to, where they then fixed the unevenness & now I feel much happier and at ease with my lips. I am very particular with how I like my lips, and I go for perfection. If i'm spending that much money and doing something to my FACE that everyone first sees, then I want it to look amazing, and to feel confident about it. Not feel like a clown. read more

Amazing place! Went here to get Botox for the first time ever and I only wish I would have started getting it earlier in life. Kendall at the front desk was so sweet! She noticed I was waiting a bit longer than expected so checked in with me and updated me on the delay to make sure I wasn't in a hurry to anything after. I have been going to Ana for 5/6 years now..I use to see her at my other med spa I go to. When she moved I followed her over there to get my facials done. She does hydra facials & dermaplanning on me which I absolutely love. The last time I was there she heard me talking about jaw filler & recommended chin lipo. She had just recently had it, so as soon as I got out of my facial they got me into a consult. We went over everything including what it would cost to keep up with filler & realized this was the better & more permanent way to go. 3 weeks later I was getting my procedure done. Dr Clark Schierle was amazing & made me feel less nervous than I had been. The whole procedure was about a hour in & out for me. I have been getting Botox for many years and the ONLY person who I trust implicitly with my face is Jessica Weniger. I have seen her every 4 months for the past 7 years and even followed her to Northwestern from her previous practice. Her extensive background working in Dermatology really shows in the care she provides and she is always recommending great skin care products to help me with any skin issues I may have (i.e. sun spots, melasma). Even though I typically get the same thing at each visit, she always takes the time to make sure she knows exactly what my needs are and inquires about my last treatment, to see if there is anything that could be improved. Last year I mentioned my history of horrible migraines (due to my clenching and TMJ) and she recently started doing injections into my Masseter (cheek) muscles and it has literally been life changing. I had no idea that was something that could be treated with botox, but because of her detailed history and exam, I am now feeling better than ever before. I also didn't realize that it was contributing to my square jawline which has now softened dramatically. I could not be happier with everything that she has done for me and would recommend her to anyone who is looking to take better care of their skin or interested in finding out more about preventative skin care options. ***PERFECTION - PERFECTION - PERFECTION*** ...not me of course, but NSPS (Northwestern Specialists in Plastic Surgery) is - by my definition, perfect. Attended a wonderfully advertised event and was skeptical. Upon arriving, I discovered that the pictures on their website and the pictures on Yelp don't do the space justice. I wish, in hindsight, I would have taken pictures myself to accurately represent how phenomenal the office space is. Located conveniently off of Michigan Avenue, it was easy to comprehend why so many people attended the event. NSPS is a true gem! After the event, I met with Dr. Fine and Dr. Schierle and was worried that they would treat me like a rag-doll and point out all that could be "fixed" on me. I was surprised when their response was, "You are perfect the way you are, what concerns do you have about yourself?". After I awkwardly laughed and indicated I appreciated the lack of judgment, I could see in their eyes that they weren't joking. It was almost as if they refused to provide any services, what so ever, until I told them what it was, with precision, that I wanted to "fix". Perhaps if i would have gone in and said "I don't like my eyes" they would have shown me pictures of before/after and I would have been convinced that work on my eyes was necessary. They obviously aren't oblivious to what people "desire" to look like, but to say there was no pressure - would be an understatement (by the way, I like my eyes, and apparently they do too). I explained exactly why I was there and once that was disclosed they gave an honest assessment of what they had to offer to solve my specific concern (and nothing else). In conclusion, I've never felt more comfortable at a Doctor's office. Not to mention, in my opinion, it was rather intimidating, as a male, to go into a plastic surgeons office. I highly encourage you to check this place out. While I won't disclose what I had done (if you ask me to disclose, my response will be "nothing") when I saw my colleagues the next day - they would have never guessed that I was at a Plastic Surgeon's office the night before. Jessica is amazing! This was my first time used the Med Spa at NSPS, although not my first time getting Botox and fillers. I am SO happy with the results. I look natural and still have movement, but my "smile lines" and "between eyebrow wrinkles" are gone. I set up a consultation for breast augmentation and was happy enough with the initial phone call. I was told that there was a $100 fee which seemed steep, but being that it was the first appointment I set and I didn't know better, I said okay and went on researching other doctors to set up additional appointments. I noticed that most other plastic surgeons do not charge a fee for your initial consultation, so I was happy to find the yelp page for Northwestern and the $100 off ad for mentioning yelp (shown above). When I called back and mentioned yelp and the discount, the girl on the phone was quite rude and said they do no such thing. I wish I could give Dr. Ellis and his office a million stars and hugs for helping me with my condition. I have Neurofibromatosis. Not a lot of people know about this condition - including doctors. I started seeing Dr. Ellis about 3 years ago for my NF. He has helped me immensely. This condition causes skin growths and can be very painful. Not only that, because the growths are on the skin, it is psychologically difficult to deal with. Dr. Ellis has been able to remove my growths with no down time and with almost no scarring. In fact, the scars that I do have, I really have to point them out because the are almost invisible. Dr. Ellis and his office has helped me out so much. I am so glad that I found someone to remove these growths but also be so compassionate about my condition. He is honest about what he can and cannot do. And he has helped me immensely. On top of that - his office staff is unbelievably awesome! His Physician's Assistant Alex (I think that's his title) is a wiz with needle and thread. He makes sure I'm healing ok and he seems to really care about how I'm feeling afterward. The women that run the front desk are so kind and friendly. They too seem to REALLY care if I'm ok and how I'm healing. Due to the fact that they have taken such good care of me, I probably won't be going back much more. They have done such a great job at getting me where I want to be with this condition. There is no cure but It almost looks like I don't even have it. I have spent years crying over having NF. Now I cry because I've been taken care of so well. Thank you so much to Dr. Ellis and his staff for taking care of me. Dr. Marco Ellis performed several procedures on my mother, removing a carcinoma from her nose and then extensive reconstructive surgery. Removing the carcinoma fully took several procedures and by the time it was done, she looked horrifying. Most of her nose was missing and she looked downright mutilated. Everything I'd read about Dr. Ellis and Northwestern told me that they are among the best reconstructive specialists in the Midwest, even the United States, but I was secretly convinced that there was only so much they could do with rebuilding her nose after so much damage. I was so very, very wrong. After the long and involved reconstruction, she looks almost entirely normal; at a casual glance, you'd never be able to tell that she had any surgery, let alone major reconstructive surgery. Her primary care physician and dermatologist are amazed. What's more, he always treated her with empathy and respect for her wishes. BEWARE! PLEASE READ! don't usually do this and didn't want to especially during these difficult times but I feel compelled to share my story. This is what my face looked like after a hydrafacial. I went in with my skin looking good and clear and was looking to get a more fresh hydrated look. While getting my hydrafacial I felt my face sting and burn the entire time but that can be normal during extractions, I was assured it was normal. As soon as I left the side of my face near my eye began to burn and turned so red but I kept telling myself I'd go away there's no way my face would stay like this. I woke up the next morning with bruise-like marks all over the side of my face, with a stinging sensation still. This isn't normal, after a hydrafacial your face should look nothing like this. After spending $180 you expect to come out looking better than you came in. I've had positive experiences before so I couldn't understand what happened. I contacted them for a refund and all they offered was a follow up to help my healing process. I wouldn't need a healing treatment if this wasn't done to my face. My skin is dry, flakey and stings. They didn't even seem apologetic. The esthetician told me she saw something near my eye before I left but never warned me I could have these reactions. read more
