But beyond grateful when searching for a couselor that was certified in the Gottman Method in Jacksonville, Fl - her name came up as one of thee only ones practicing & using the Gottman Method. After going through my personal information, insurance, the reason I needed to see her, setting up the appointment date and time, etc. she asked if I had ever been to a counselor before. I said yes, once before many many years ago. Based on the fact that I only saw that counselor once because the crisis I was experiencing had been resolved, she immediately says that she cannot see me because she needs patients that will stay on for at least a couple of months to work through their issues and not just take the 6 sessions provided by my employer's EAP. I said I wasn't sure if I was only going to do the 6 sessions or if I needed more, I was open to her input and work through what was needed, I tried to explain that my previous counseling experience happened this was when I was 21, 15 years ago!, but she wouldn't hear it, she cut me off and said that based on my history I would be better served with a different provider. I found that to be extremely rude, uncaring and unprofessional. She made her the decision right then and there that I was not a patient worth having. Perhaps this is to my benefit, I can't imagine that someone who just treated me in that manner can be a great counselor. What a disappointment! Not sure how the therapist came to the conclusion that I was not "willing" to receive help. Seems to me this was purely financially motivated on her part!!!!

After only two sessions, we were told that our therapist, who was unlicensed but still in school, was being let go. He was fantastic, but the center overall was not. The administration staff were unhelpful and unapproachable, and they seemed more focused on billing than supporting families. They offered to switch us to another therapist, but the new person did not meet our needs at all. We ended up spending over $1,700 with no real progress, and were left feeling stuck and in limbo once our therapist was let go. I've spoken with friends who are therapists, and they agreed that these rates are unreasonable for the level of care provided. Unfortunately, it felt like they were taking advantage of hardworking families rather than genuinely helping. I cannot recommend this center.

I attempted to stop treatments on multiple occasions and was talked into coming back with love-bombing assurances that my mental and financial well-being mattered. They lie about financial programs that will help and always vague about the ending costs of the treatments. If your insurance covers it, then you will probably love it here. But if they dont.... good luck. This facility did nothing but cause me further mental harm.

ALL calls go to a calling center in Utah and they have the nerve to have a million numbers, to make you feel like it's local when it's all to one calling center. TERRIBLE
