Feng really tore me up on Diff Eq, I got more out of that one class than from my calc 1-3 classes at ENMU , ITT and ACC.

Class sizes are small and every teacher there knows my children, even if they were not their specific teacher, which makes me feel like we are a part of a family. Facility is always clean, bright and comfortable. The staff are always smiling and genuinely happy to see the kids. They are open and willing to accommodate to my children's dietary needs and allow cloth diapering. My daughter attended for 4 years and loved every minute. She wanted to get there early and stay late every day. She is currently 9 years old and going into 4th grade. She is a TAG student and does well in all her classes. My son is 4 and is a current student. He loves his teachers and comes home everyday with proud stories of what he learned and the fun time he had with his teachers and friends. He comes home saying new Spanish words every week and seems to be understanding more and more since he first started 2 years ago. All of the achievements and happiness that my children have experienced while at the Ivy International School is because of the knowledgable and warm hearts of the staff which pours down from the top. Esmeralda, the director, always has a smile on her face to greet the children when they arrive. She clearly communicates upcoming deadlines and events. And is in the classrooms daily to help out wherever needed whether that means to clean a spill, assist a teacher or wipe a butt. When times were hard for us as a family, she was understanding, flexible and a great support for both myself and my daughter. I recently moved to Round Rock and the drive takes me 30-45 mins on some days but I wouldn't have it any other way because I know it is what is best for my child.

I've always been skeptical about the droves of MBA grads that are churned out every year by…read morebusiness schools around the country. Of course, I'm biased because my graduate business degree focuses on leadership and ethics... and it's been the lack of quality in those two areas that have led to the various financial/business scandals that have plagued our country (and our global economy) recently and in past years. So, when I heard that Concordia University has launched its first Master of Business Administration program, my initial reaction was "Great! Another one!" But, then I took a closer look at who is involved in creating and launching the program (the director, Linda Ford, PhD, is someone for whom I have the utmost respect). I also saw that they had put out an open invitation for folks to attend a community meeting. So, I went! I'm very glad I did. I got to meet and speak with, face to face, the people involved. In what they shared in the community presentation there was full disclosure and none of the usual marketing rhetoric. I left that experience with the distinct impression that here is a group of people, and a program, that will finally produce MBA grads that will authentically get "it". What is this "it" to which I'm referring? You see, business is always personal because the decisions that are made always affect human lives... for better or worse, it's an inevitable consequence. For our country, society and culture to truly attain the potential and greatness of which we're capable, businesses actually must aspire to be more than just profitable financially. I believe the creators of the Concordia MBA program truly understand the nature of this reality and will be ushering in a new era of business leadership. Check it out:MBA.Concordia.edu.

Nothing in life may progress without risk, faith, determination, and constant feedback (especially…read morein the early stages of program development). Darrick, I am sorry that your experience was unpleasant. Thank you greatly for sharing insight. The students were there to help streamline processes and insure the program continues to surpass present and future expectations. Please know experimentation is often required to best solidify what works and what does not. Additionally, I am glad the "time" discussion was explored because the process truly will require two years of INTENSE commitment. The average time I spend is on average 25-30 hours a week, excluding the 4 hour one night a week class times. This can become a balancing act with a demanding career. As a founding member of the first M.B.A cohort, I have to say that our journey thus far has been revolutionary and worth the hard work. Yes, it is true that we still look forward to one more year before our program graduates the first cohort. If one is seeking a program that has been long established, it may be best to look else where or simply wait a few years to see what the real results show. As a small business owner, I already have had benefits out way my costs in less than a year due to this new graduate program. This is due to significantly advancing my core business skills and simply pursuing opportunities presented in direct, structured methods of action. Furthermore, a cost/benefit analysis on any level of education can be entirely relative. In my personal opinion, knowledge is worth more than gold- often priceless. If you have a drive for success, the program will undoubtedly surpass your expectations. Many of our students are dedicated to their graduate studies so as to further develop the nonprofit sectors they lead in. In addition, a significant portion of our cohort members are dedicated to full time corporate positions. The Concordia M.B.A's advantages that set it apart from other options in the Austin area include A) a Christian leadership setting that inspires change and accomplishes sustaining ethical business leaders for our future generations B) the possibility to work while going through the one night a week program C) diversity that makes the cohort learning style cohesively beneficial. I am honored to be part of an M.B.A program that is a perfect fit and has already changed my entire life in just one year. I suggest anyone interested to come to an information session, sit in on a class to observe the learning environment, and speak with various current students so as to have an array of feedback. God bless your jouney, and I hope this helps.

However, I love the school regardless even if they are taking every dime I have to give me another edu'maction (I am sure that would make my professors proud). After doing a BA and a MS here - I have ventured back for another MS degree and now a regular at this campus. This location is so easy to get to - the classes are comfortable - and there's a coffee shop on the main floor open until 7 PM. The staff have been super friendly while I work to find my way around or need a jump for my car because my battery died. In my opinion, it is a lot of marketing + optics and not a whole lot of substance. There are some AMAZING teachers who are the heart of this school, but most end up leaving. It's the leadership/owners that need change - overall I found them defensive, retaliatory, and most concerned with controlling a narrative for the sake of their business, which is a shame because it once felt like a dream school. Say something they don't like? They will block you online or unenroll you from the school. The owner will infiltrate parent chats on a private app and attempt to start drama over them instead of using the opportunity to do better. Ask them for clarity on something like why their teacher is suddenly gone? You might get three different answers. We often felt like they thought we were gullible. Any time they get a bad review, a handful of 5 star ones magically appear, with one of the latest showing an accidental "Should I tweak anything?" at the bottom. Whoops. This feels extremely misleading to prospective families who are trying to decide where to enroll their precious babies and who to give their hard-earned money to. We hardly ever knew who was caring for our children everyday. There was such high teacher turnover and new aides subbing in who were lovely, but not qualified to lead classroom instruction. Children struggled emotionally with the constant changing of teachers. There was no syllabus or curriculum plan shared with parents. But they had no problem sending a plethora of generic AI-generated communications, which was odd and not particularly useful or informative to parents. It feels like a daycare in survival mode, while trying to maintain the image of a Montessori that is worth the tuition you are paying. Oftentimes the ratios felt incredibly high. Parents submitted complaints. Teachers noted they were struggling and didn't always have adequate support or supplies. When children would get hurt, teachers would sometimes not have the bandwidth to communicate properly about it and parents would have to seek information from the school. With all of this said, I really hope they find a better path forward and in my opinion that begins with a good look in the mirror and taking accountability. The feedback you are receiving might not feel good, but it's a great way to identify opportunities to be better. I would stop blaming everyone around you and learn that it's okay to be wrong and make change. In fact, many parents would have absolutely extended more grace if the leadership was more humble, honest, professional, and open to real dialogue for the benefit of our children - and the wonderful teachers who work so hard to help them learn and grow.
