As Social worker myself I understand a nursing home social worker is the bottom rung of social work . My family member was ready to be discharged on Wednesday. However she was then told that she had to wait a few days for discharge so a care plan could be completed. To the layman that sounds reasonable, yet to a veteran it means they wish to maximize their insurance payments and virtually held my family member against their will. When I confronted the Administrator, Scott, refused to give his last name, acted like a sleazy thug. The senior Social worker could not explain her actions and somehow was able to get the discharge done on Wednesday. We were knowledgeable but a layman will be exploited.
