This drs office is booked and busy! They've had some changes in the medical staff that has resulted in some slight delays in physicals and non urgent appointments. Sometimes the wait time is a little long when you call. What I truly appreciate though is the staff are very caring and will always make time for their patients. Yesterday I took my son to the ER at 5am. Before the office even opened someone had read the report and called me with advice and to get us in same day for an appointment. Ashley the NP came up with a treatment protocol that none of the ER drs had even suggested. She has excellent bedside manner and is the only medical professional that my son has allowed to look in his ears. After a really stressful day I was so grateful for the team for taking the initiative to call me and get us ok the schedule. Thank you all so much! read more

My son got a baseball injury to his eye. We took him to urgent care the day of and we thought everything was fine. The next day he was still struggling so I called the office. They got him in to see Dr. Melman the same day. Dr. Melman was very thorough and was concerned for a more serious injury. He sent us to the ER to get a CT scan. The ER doctor was brisk and dismissive and refused to do the scan. So we went home. The next day Dr. Melman called me directly and was not happy that the CT scan had not been done. He directed us to a pediatric ophthalmologist. Long story short, my son had an orbital fracture with muscle entrapment that required eye surgery at UCLA. It needed to be done in a timely manner to prevent permanent damage. Dr. Melman continued personally following up with us through the whole process of hospitalization, surgery, and afterwards. We will be forever grateful that he recognized the clinical signs, took it seriously, and followed up. If not for him, our son may have had permanent eye damage. I can't thank him enough!! read more

My experience mirrors several other reviews regarding the front office staff. The pediatricians themselves come highly recommended, which initially made me very excited about this practice. Unfortunately, my interaction with the front office was disappointing. As others have noted, the response felt very "DMV-like," with an apparent focus on ending the call rather than thoughtfully addressing a prospective patient's questions. That interaction alone gave me pause about whether this is the right practice for our family, despite the pediatricians' strong reputation. The staff member (Chr******) I spoke with seemed frustrated by what I believe were fairly standard questions for a new parent and provided responses that did not clearly or directly address my concerns, making the conversation difficult to follow. read more

When my first born was still in the womb, my wife did her due diligence in researching whom was going to be our Pediatrician. Of course, when doing this, you not only want to source a reputable Doctor who has great reviews, but you also want to make sure the office is in close proximity to your home. Prior to making our final decision, we read many great reviews about Conejo Childrens Medical Group and ultimately decided to go with them. We also looked over the list of Doctors available here and we choose Dr. Andrews-Vallance to be our primary physician. From the first time we met Dr. Vallance in the postpartum wing of the hospital back in 2018 until now, we are just beyond grateful for her kind, gentle, Southern hospitality bedside manner that she always maintains. She has a way of making a brand new parent feel at complete ease and there's no dumb question that can possibly be asked. To this day, Dr. Vallance always ensures that we are on the right path and she really listens to her patients (us as the parents). We always leave her office knowing that all of our questions and concerns are confidently answered by her and her team. Fast forward to now, We are now the proud parents of 2 beautiful girls and are beyond humbled to have Dr. Vallance as their Pediatrician. Not only does she make us feel comfortable, but our kids are not scared of going to the Doctor for their routine visits. We sincerely appreciate everything Dr. Vallance does to ensure our childrens health is top priority and their developmental needs are looked after. We've had two visits so far. The office is nice and clean. We've had zero wait in the waiting room, and the staff has all been nice and attentive. I love that there's two waiting rooms. One for sick kids and one for kids who are there for other reasons. I really appreciate that you're able to actually get the doctor on the phone if you'd like to speak directly to them. I don't like writing bad reviews but this one is warranted. We've been with this office for ten years and it pains to write this. Mostly because Dr. Nathalie Rubin as a practicing Pediatrician is amazing and I have no complaints about how she actually practices medicine. My bad review is for a dropping standard of care combined with the lingering aftertaste of a Front Office that aspires to recreate a DMV-like experience. You'll never met a more disinterested, client-comes-last culture outside of a government building. It's quite astounding actually. And post-COVID work(?) culture has made it much worse. In fact, they have completely forgotten the level of care they used to give, with the high-bar somewhere out back by the dumpster. Even the easy stuff like booking appointments is something they can barely handle. You call and the overcaffeinated and uncaring receptionist on the other end barks "Can you hold please", which you shouldn't confuse as a question. You will get put on hold before you can answer. Then there's the "hard stuff", like when you're stranded at the pharmacist and need something fixed fast so you can get vital medication. Well, fo'get about it. The standard answer, which they say without shame is, "24-48 hours! Didn't you read the website!" When you press them for a better result, because their job is your health, you get the narcissist sideshow. They make it clear their feelings trump your needs and how your expectation for reasonable service makes them feel uncomfortable. Just try it; they'll tell you. They also have zero reservations telling you how your problem "wasn't that important" (their exact words), which entitles them to belittle your needs. I'm not kidding, you will have your feelings and opinions invalidated for no other reason than defending their management-by-triage. They don't care that it may shock you and make no apology for it. They just want you to lower your expectations and/or purge any sense of urgency you may have once had. If you tell them that is not a game you want to play because it's your health, they will tell you to pound sand and go somewhere else. True story. If the office reads this and wants to improve, then have a broader definition of what a basic standard of care includes. A good standard of care includes responsiveness, accountability, and flexibility. Yes, you have "jumped" for us in the past. But what you label "jumping" -- in any other industry where clients are valued -- is just good practice. You don't get a medal for it and it doesn't entitle you to belittle your clients as too needy or "hard to deal with". We all work hard, work long hours, and post-COVID --- all suffering from understaffing. Most of us deal with this for far less income and far less job stability, so don't ever cry me a river again. Have some professional perspective. And if the front office reads this, maybe a client-facing role is not for you. Dealing with people professionally in a face-to-face environment is an art and a passion. When you hate it or not cut out for it - it shows. Consider that a back-office job is better suited to your personality. I'm being serious. read more

Absolutely love Conejo Children's! As a parent, I appreciate the care and attention given to each patient. I never feel like my questions and concerns are unimportant. They genuinely have your child's best interest at heart. I also like that someone answers the phone each time I call with limited hold times. I've never had a problem making a timely appointment with my provider of choice, which is Dr. Rubin. Dr. Rubin is amazing and very warm hearted. For the first time, my kids LOVE going to the doctor. Of course, they enjoy the treats and gifts given after their appointments, but Dr. Rubin listens and cares about my kids. She engages them in conversation and reciprocates/shares information to make them feel at ease. I can't say enough good things about Conejo Children's. And I also appreciate seeing Karen at the front desk during every visit; it's nice seeing a familiar face each time we walk in that knows you by name. We moved to the area a year ago and I chose this clinic based on recommendations from my work colleagues, who loved the place. Our pediatrician is Dr. Melman - we love him! He has a kind, calm bedside manner and we have confidence in his diagnosis. He takes his time during our visits, unlike other busy physicians who rush from one patient to another. His nurses are generally good as well. I'm giving the clinic four stars due to a recent incident which left me dismayed. My three-year-old son had had a fever of 102+ for three days straight that wasn't responding well to Motrin, and I was convinced that it was an ear infection, which he gets relatively frequently. Miraculously, my son has never been sick with any other illness. So, given that his symptoms were identical to previous ear infections, I took him to the clinic for a prescription for antibiotics. Dr Melman was out, so we saw Dr. Seidenberg. She examined my son's ears, and didn't see anything wrong. Her diagnosis was that he had flu-like virus and we'd have to take him home and wait it out. If his fever didn't abate, we were to bring him back. The visit took five minutes, and she didn't really ask any questions on his demeanor, whether he'd urinated, etc. I left feeling bewildered and with a gut feeling that the diagnosis was wrong. That night, my son's fever hit 104 and I called the nurse hotline - they told me to take him to the ER. Panicked, my husband and I were getting ready to go when my son fell asleep and his temperature went down two degrees. He seemed comfortable, and although I'm not a doctor, I'm a scientist and know enough to know that he didn't need to go to the ER in the absence of other symptoms. The next morning we made another appointment to see Dr. Melman. Dr. Melman was concerned enough the next day to reschedule our 4 PM appointment to 12 PM. When we got there, he took one look at my son's ears and diagnosed him with an ear infection. He also recommended a chest x-ray for the dry cough my son had had for a while, to check for pneumonia. They also did a nose swab to check for a viral infection (my son did test positive for adenovirus, but that was not the source of his symptoms.) We were prescribed an antibiotic, and within two hours of the first dose my son's fever disappeared. How an experienced pediatrician could miss a simple middle ear infection is beyond me. I'm glad I followed my instincts and sought a second opinion with Dr. Melman. I'm grateful that he confirmed what we already thought, and cemented the trust and confidence we had in him to accurately diagnose and care for our family. We do not feel the same way about Dr. Seidenberg, unfortunately. read more

Getting an appointment has never been a problem, the staff are all friendly and really make you feel comfortable. Dr Melman is thorough and really takes the time with you. My children love him. I would like to give credit to Conejo Children's Medical Group for all they have done throughout the pandemic. We all know if was a very trying time both mentally, physically and financially. Many physicians in the area did not treat ill patients at the outset of the pandemic and rather referred them to Urgent Care or the emergency department at the hospital. Dr. Rubin and the rest of the physicians, however, continued to see patients throughout the entirety of the pandemic even if it had to be in the rain outside in a tent. They even went to the lengths to make sure that flu vaccinations were not missed and the staff gave them to patients in their cars in the parking lot! I have never known a medical practice to go this length in order to serve their patient population. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We love this practice and recommend it to anyone looking for a pediatrician in the Conejo valley area. read more

Dr Pachorek has seen all three of my children for the past 5 years. She is everything you want in a pediatrician- kind, funny, patient, knowledgeable. Even though it's a busy office, she never makes you feel rushed and goes above and beyond to ensure you and the children are comfortable. We absolutely love her and consider ourselves lucky we found her. We've also seen other doctors in the practice when Dr. Pachorek was off or unavailable and have never had a bad experience. We always have an easy and comfortable experience at Conejo Children's. Our three kids are seen by Dr. Seidenberg and she couldn't be sweeter. She takes time to listen and answers all of our questions. The nurses are kind and great with the kids, as is the front desk staff. So glad we found this office. This place is awesome!! Love the doctors, we have seen 2 different ones and both were kind, gentle and caring. Very patient and thorough. Our daughter loves them even when she has been not feeling so well. Lastly, today we were at the airport, first time flyers with a baby, and they were able to email us her immunization records (didn't know you needed this to fly) in minutes which allows us to still keep our flight. Practice is awesome, friendly staff and really clean office. My son has been seen by Dr. Rubin since his newborn check up in the hospital. So far have had two appointments and I can't even express how absolutely amazing she is. Never with my first son or myself have I encountered a doctor like her. My two boys have been patients here since it first opened in 2000. All the doctors and staff are incredible, helpful, friendly and caring. Through the years, my sons have primarily seen Dr. Rubin who is the most wonderful doctor! Dr Rubin is so thorough and smart and we never feel rushed, and she always promptly calls back with any questions I might have. My kids absolutely love Dr Rubin, and my 19 year old son, who just had his yearly physical with her, asked me if we could invite her to our house for dinner!! Had an issue where a study had a concerning finding. I was notified immediately by another physician in the group while Dr. Rubin was gone.
