The frustration with this doctor's office is more with the administrative staff than the doctors themselves. They do not care about customer service, convenience, or urgency. For them, it's clearly all about them and not the patient. Several times in the past we have needed prescriptions refilled and they have been delayed and delayed. Today I called to get a quick signature on a sports physical form and they told me I needed 14 days to process it even though they have all of the records in their system... They tried to tell me that it would take days for them to get the nurses to fill out the forms and then to have the doctor sign it. They don't care about helping the patient who is paying their salary, they are worried about doing things according to their system. Very bureaucratic. Probably a lot of government aid coming into this practice. 4 stars for docs, 1 star for admin. 2 stars for overall office vibe. read more

We are new to the area and decided to try Coastal Kids in Moorpark. While the pediatricians we've met have been great..kind, thorough, and attentive. The front office experience has been the complete opposite. In my interactions, the office staff has been consistently rude and dismissive over the phone & in person. It genuinely feels as though they dislike their jobs, and that attitude shows in the way they treat families. It's really disappointing, because the doctors themselves are wonderful, but the atmosphere created by the front desk is incredibly frustrating. read more

Some of the doctors are pretty good but others, such as Dr. Goldstein are abysmal. For instance, we made the mistake of going to him to have an ADHD evaluation and it was a complete waste of time. He basically spent an hour with us and nothing came out of it that we couldn't get from a Google search. Then, I had to call the office to inquire about whether we'd be receiving some sort of report that we could provide the school with describing his official interpretation and we got a photo copy of his inconclusive, chicken scratch notes. Also, the receptionist in the Moorpark office is totally rude and careless. She provided us with a questionnaire that the school/teacher was supposed to fill out prior to the assessment. The school said their policy is to deliver it to the doctor's office themselves. I informed the receptionist of this and confirmed that she would only schedule the assessment after receiving the school's input. But then at our appointment, Dr. Goldstein informed us they hadn't received anything from the school. The school also confirmed that they hadn't completed the questionnaire yet. I called the receptionist to inquire as to why she scheduled the assessment when she hadn't received the school's responses and she had no answer nor seemed concerned in the slightest that she wasted everyone's time. Looking for another pediatrician; I suggest you do the same. read more

I have been taking my 2 children here for 25 years. I made an appointment in July for my daughter to have her annual physical in September a week before she was to leave for college. The appointment was with Dr. Speigel at the Westlake office. I receive an email a few days before the appointment which stated that my daughter was to see a Dr. T (something). I have never heard of this doctor (apparently she is new). So, I called the office and they really could not tell me why they changed doctors and told be that Dr. Speigel was "Booked". They also let me know that the appointment was in the Moorpark office even though the email stated that it was in Westlake. I called them back and told them that my 18 year old daughter was upset with this change and Wendy, the office manager told me that Dr. Speigel could fit her in on Tuesday. After the call, I realized that the Tuesday date was two days shy of her previous physical last year, therefore the physical would probably not be covered by insurance. So the morning of the physical, I called Wendy asking her if we would be charged and she snapped at me to call my insurance. My daughter and I were furious because this appointment was made 2 months ago and she was leaving for college in days. I told Wendy that we would not be coming to her office again. I made my daughter an appointment with an adult doctor and she was seen before she left for college. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Speigel and Dr. Scheer, but thanks to Wendy, we are done. read more

Called to check if they took my insurance for my teenager who needs therapy , they asked to email a copy of the insurance card , a lady called me back stating I would need to change my medical group I said I have a provider that is with facey and takes my insurance which I am apart of UCLA medical group. I advised my MHN ins is separate from medical and asked if they could call and verify. She said I needed to call, wow talk about patient care!! read more

Dr Scherr was my pediatrician growing up and now takes care of my baby with the same expertise, caring and concern even after 50 years in practice. You will not find a more competent pediatrician for your family. read more

Great people! All of the doctors here are great. Over the years my son has seen all of the doctors. All of them are great, good with kids (and adults too!), and they are all Board Certified. They always try to accommodate their patients and get your child in to see a doctor soon. Especially if you need to see the doctor soon because you need a school vaccination or if they're really sick. The office staff are all so nice too! M read more

Love the doctors here, especially Dr. Nudelman who cared for my son with special needs for 18 years. He was especially patient and good with a tremendous amount of paperwork that was necessary for all his programs, nursing agencies, county offices, etc. It is quite easy to get in for an appointment. Most of the girls In the front office are nice, but I won't lie, seems there are always at least one grumpy or impatient receptionist, thus the four stars and not 5. Just a note to the doctors, life is stressful, so please have your frontline be pleasant and kind. I would highly recommend trusting your children to any of the doctors here. read more

Dr Scherr has been our children's pediatrician for 19 years and we love him. He is our preferred doctor at this medical group, but we are also very comfortable with Dr Green. I've read a few reviews regarding Dr Goldstine and I will say I avoid seeing him as much as possible. We do not see eye to eye on treatment and I find him rather condescending. That being said I still give Community Pediatrics 5 stars because we love Dr Scherr and Dr Green and the nursing staff and office staff have been very friendly and helpful. read more

I have to concur below with the person who does not like Dr. Goldstein. I would like to start by saying I am a scientist who works for a well known science company making 6 figures. Clearly I know something about science... That being said.... my grandma got a flu vaccination a few years ago and has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since with GBS. A disease that is known to be the cause of vaccines and Goldstein even confirmed this while we were in his office. It is still unknown if GBS is a illness that can be "triggered" by a vaccination, and it is unclear whether GBS is hereditary therefore obviously I am concerned about giving my child a vaccination. The doctor proceeded to not tell me what I was signing, did not say what side effects vaccines could have, and literally said "sign the paper sign the paper" for vaccines in his office. When I found out he was vaccinating my child I said "I don't feel comfortable with it and I needed to talk to my husband first" the nurses and doctor all went out in the hall where I could clearly hear them and said "we already drew up the vaccinations we have to give them now?" "what is her problem?" "She signed the paper and we drew them up I am not sure what the problem is" "Is she or is she not going to give them" "she needs to hurry up and vaccine her child and get out of here". It was the craziest experience I have ever had.... he should go to jail for malpractice. My babysitter was there with me and said it was one of the scariest things she had ever seen. She felt pressured and scared as well. read more

We were recommended by friends of ours and all I can really say is that I'm glad we are using Community Pediatrics. The pediatricians have been there supporting both of my girls (Yuzu & Koto) with the upmost highest quality. From the hospital (Los Robles) to this location, we've only had great experiences with Community Pediatrics! If we decide to have a 3rd child (NOT), Community Pediatrics will be the place we go to. read more

I love the doctors at Community Pediatrics! We have been going there for 22 years with our girls. BUT they do hire young inexperienced office staff that do not know how to answer tough questions or challenging situations with grace and professionalism. They get very annoyed and condescending if you ask to speak to someone else. The Office Manager is excellent--Cookie is the glue that holds office administration details together. Regarding the nurses, it is hit and miss--again for as long as we have been there, we do not prefer the younger nurses. I miss the nurses we all started with but have moved on or retired. read more

While the doctors are good - unfortunately their billing practices and billing personnel are not up to par. We felt nickel and dimed by charges for preventive immunizations that were billed inappropriately and coded as sick visits increasing reimbursement. When calling out the office on what is transpiring they insisted they did this for over 30 years which equates to 30 years of insurance behaviors that are not acceptable. Having direct experience with pediatric practices- this is not right and sadly as a result we elected to find another practice. The doctors may be great- but sometimes the office staff and their family members doing their billing aren't the best combination when it comes to successfully running a practice that follows the updates in reimbursement and upcodes to yield a greater return. An immunization does not equal a medical diagnosis and to solicit one on multiple children on the same visit is questionable. read more

Every doctor here is amazing. Highly recommend community pediatrics. I send anyone asking for a recommendation there. They are extremely friendly and listen to the concerns you have for your child. They are always able to get you in when you need it most. You won't be disappointed here. read more
