The bar had a table in the front two corner with around 5 chairs per table and a table for maybe 2-3 people in front of the dj/karaoke setup. It happened to be karaoke night. Also, noone was sitting at the bar area at the time. There's also just one bathroom in the back of the bar. Since we just had dinner, we only ordered drinks. As always, we ordered 2 long islands. The drinks were lite at first, so it didn't feel as if there's much alcohol in them, but it hits later. Overall not a bad drink for the cost. I believe it was $12 per drink. Of course one drink isn't enough so we decided to get another drink similar to a long island but has blue curacao. We showed the server/bartender a picture of it and they said they could make it. We've never had the drink before so I can't compare it to other places. The drink was pretty good, but we still prefer the long islands more. Not that the drink didn't have enough alcohol though. Moving onto the vibes of the bar... it's very different from city vibes. It may be that my friend and I were the youngest ones there and everyone else were much older. Kudos to the singers though, they had such good lungs to assist with their singing. They were very much in tune and on beat. Would I come here again? Yes. But maybe not on karaoke night, since it was really difficult to hear my friend speak and have a conversation without asking him to repeat himself.

Grab the mac n cheese bites! my date loved them (they can come with sausage or without). i sampled the mac sauce on top and thought it was pretty good. the 5 wings on happy hour were messy, but delicious. i tasted the honey but not the chipotle. it might need a hint of more heat if they wanna call it chpotle. would come back in a heartbeat.

Its a very large space with a good amount of seating and pool tables. The bar is smaller than I was expecting but it has a glass wall behind so you can see into the actually distillery. However, she was the only one working and therefore service was REALLY slow. We had the deviled eggs which were pretty good. I also had the chorizo flat bread. Would say that that was so so, as it was just a public school pizza with one piece of pepperoni on each slice. Also had the espresso martini which tasted great. I usually come with a book and have some wine, and sometimes the book is set aside to talk to other people. The current roster of bartenders are so cool and professional. I LOVE the Comfort Sisters! I've had most of the food on their menu, and it's all amazing. And they now have brunch, which I don't want to advertise because I want it all for myself :) The main issue I have is that prices are more than you'd expect from a neighborhood bar. There are some places in Midtown that are cheaper. But the atmosphere is cool enough that it's worth going in.

So when I heard this place in Park Slope had a full bar without a drop of alcohol in it, I got very excited. So back on May 2nd, early afternoon, my wife and I popped in and had a few cocktails while we did the Saturday crossword puzzle. We adored it! Great kinda art deco-ish vibe, very "detective noir." The bartender was excited and talked a lot about the products available. We spent roughly $60 or $70 and had a fantastic time. Today, Saturday August 8th, we thought we'd do the same thing since we were in the neighborhood. It was almost as if we experienced two different restaurants. My wife needed to use the restroom, so she did that first and sat down at the bar. Immediately, the person behind the bar told me "We aren't doing drinks, just food." I was then told that cocktails don't start until 4pm (which is wild, because it was around 1pm when we were there back in May!). I wasn't offered a list of drinks that were available, just told "No drinks." The bartender then added "Everything we have is zero proof," as if I was going to be upset about that. Of course I already knew this -- that's why I was there! The whole experience was extremely unwelcoming. At that point my wife came back and was looking over the brunch menu. I had wanted to leave, but she decided on a hibiscus tea... which it took her about five minutes to order, because we couldn't find anyone to take our order in spite of there being three front-of-house employees and only four patrons in the entire place. Ultimately I had a club soda (which was $4 for 7 ounces!) and we did the crossword and left. So we spent about $15 total, instead of the $60 we spent back in May -- and which we were planning to spend today on two rounds of NA cocktails. I worked service industry for a long time (over a decade), and the vibe I get from this place is that no one in management has done the service industry time that it takes to know how to run a place like this well. It has that feel of top-down lack of experience. It's a shame, really, because this place has so much potential and there's not really anything like it in the neighborhood. But as it is, they are basically just walking away from all the money we'd gladly spend there if the place made any sense or did a good job of being, y'know... a bar and restaurant. One note: I'm attaching an image of my receipt, because I have noticed the owner likes to claim that reviews are by people who went to some other restaurant and were just confused about Mockingbird. We aren't confused. Here's the receipt to prove it.
