Overdue post: Came here on a Saturday night at around 8pm back in April for drinks after dinner with a friend. The bar had a table in the front two corner with around 5 chairs per table and a table for maybe 2-3 people in front of the dj/karaoke setup. It happened to be karaoke night. Also, noone was sitting at the bar area at the time. There's also just one bathroom in the back of the bar. Since we just had dinner, we only ordered drinks. As always, we ordered 2 long islands. The drinks were lite at first, so it didn't feel as if there's much alcohol in them, but it hits later. Overall not a bad drink for the cost. I believe it was $12 per drink. Of course one drink isn't enough so we decided to get another drink similar to a long island but has blue curacao. We showed the server/bartender a picture of it and they said they could make it. We've never had the drink before so I can't compare it to other places. The drink was pretty good, but we still prefer the long islands more. Not that the drink didn't have enough alcohol though. Moving onto the vibes of the bar... it's very different from city vibes. It may be that my friend and I were the youngest ones there and everyone else were much older. Kudos to the singers though, they had such good lungs to assist with their singing. They were very much in tune and on beat. Would I come here again? Yes. But maybe not on karaoke night, since it was really difficult to hear my friend speak and have a conversation without asking him to repeat himself. read more

My friends and I came here to grab a couple drinks before we went to a concert. We expected to just walk in, grab drinks, and leave but the people here were so kind and welcoming we almost skipped our concert to stay for karaoke. George, the owner, did everything in his power to ensure we had a wonderful time! Nena (I believe this is her name), the bartender was also incredible! The drinks are inexpensive. If I could I would give this place zero stars. The 2 stars are actually for the employees, they do what They can with what little they got under inferior management. I went to this bar last week and noticed how the owner/ manager treat his employees. Demeaning them in public for god knows what. They were short staffed that night and were doing all they can to serve a full house. I cant offer patronage to such a place. All I can say is Karma is a female of pure Malice. read more

This bar takes over from whatever was next door to the still-shuttered 'Coraline Cafe'. It is a sleepy, innocuous, out-of-the-way corner of an obscure avenue in south Sunset Park. The bar has been decently re-habbed, re-appointed, re-finished, and cleaned up. Brand new everything. It feels very cozy. It is a small corner bar but the neighborhood could certainly use another watering-hole. There are a half-dozen obligatory taps and a top-shelf in addition to well-drinks. There's also a bar menu of everyone's favorite pub-grub. Initially I received a mistaken impression of the bar. It was some fluke 'grand opening' which drew a lot of unsavory types. I was worried. But I was wrong. Over the months since its inception it has turned out to be a simple, chill, laid-back, sports-bar. There's darts and billiards like any other dive pub. Groups of friends frequent here regularly. The crowd is English-speaking latin and anglo males. Locals have adopted the joint and you can relax here and be comfortable. Things are handled smoothly and well and there's rarely a need for any bouncers or security. The place feels integrated with the surroundings rather than a graft or transplant. I can easily recommend it now to anyone in the area. It is a treat to drink out of completely new, sparkling glassware for a change and walk around on floor not sticky with gum. read more

Love this place! It's a small bar, but cozy enough to chill out with some friends over some tasty food and drinks. They have a few big screen TV's if you want to catch a game any day of the week. Customer Service is always great here. On Saturdays, the music is the best part- 80's, 90's, & 2000's. Best part for me is that it's only a few blocks away from home. I went on a Saturday night and had some drinks with a friend. The bartender looked like the only staff member on duty but he did an excellent job taking care of our order plus everyone in the bar and making sure the whole bar was clean. Has games playing on most of the screens with chill vibes all around. The music was a fun variety of recent hits both English and spanish mixed with some old school salsa. It's a nice cozy place tucked between a train station and two bus stops, it's great for bringing a group of friends over. We had an awesome and friendly bartender, good drinks & bar food, and there were some nice 90's/2000's music playing in the background. Definitely worth visiting. read more

They seem to like cats. That's the theme. Some bright sign light behind the taps is bothersome, but staff doesn't have to sit facing it so they don't likely notice. When they cook fried foods, the smoke seems to just collect at the ceiling and they do not appear to have good ventilation in the kitchen space. If you like your clothes smelling like French fries, might be the place for you. read more
