When we visited, Thomas and Friends Explore the world until January 3, 2027 was the special experience, and it was definitely a highlight for the kids! They were so excited, and it made the visit feel extra special. There are so many hands on activities and interactive exhibits throughout the science center. The kids can build, experiment, touch, explore, and learn about everything from animals and nature to the human body, space, technology, and engineering. There's always something for them to do, so they stay engaged instead of getting bored. I especially love that it's an experience where the kids are actually learning without feeling like they're in school. They can explore at their own pace and have fun while discovering new things. Definitely a great family friendly destination from NYC. If you're looking for an educational outing that the kids will actually enjoy, Liberty Science Center is worth the trip!

We came here to see " Sue" the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The last day she was going to be in the exhibit was on Memorial Day. It was sweet to see families and all different kids go through this exhibit with awe and amazement. Our lil guy is in his dinosaur phase and was in love all around. Liberty Science Center was a good space to explore. We didn't have enough time to spend here, however we will return. The space was clean, employees were respectful and kind, and there are plenty of opportunities for anyone to check out different floors of interests. The only con is paying some parts to check out rather than an overall included ticket. Plenty of space to park; Will return soon!

Loved the glow in the dark room... good photo op. We also loved the photo booth in the back of the DiGiorno room. I liked the last supper and Adam and Eve banners also You can get some popcorn to watch 3 short films And you get a slice of pizza at the end . It was hot and good to me . Water was offered . Surprisingly no bathrooms inside- you would have to go to the William Vale lobby to use the bathroom It would have been way more disappointing if this was the only thing we did ... thank god we made a day of it and also went to Brooklyn Bowl.

What it is now is 83 acres along the north shore of Staten Island that began as a home for retired sailors in the 19th, with large residential buildings and a nautical museum whose Italianate architecture reminds of the Borgia palaces in the old world. Last Saturday it was crowded with weddings and birthday parties capturing the beauty of the day. It was an unplanned cultural festival. Wet easy to walk around and get caught up in the many events happening at the same time. While the gardens and pathways showed signs of benign neglect, the many buildings were in some degree of renovation, and the history of this area was on beautiful romantic display. There was food and drink for the asking, and even a few knowledgeable docents to answer questions about Tom Melville (Herman's younger brother), governor of Snug Harbor for over 30 years. Word is that part of Moby Dick was written right from the front porch of the governor's mansion. The various botanical zones were interesting, if somewhat overgrown, but their "gone to seed" attitude was somehow very appealing. This was New York City giving shelter in its special offhanded way. Only the strong survive. The Chinese Scholars Garden was the best of the choices. Walking through the Moon Door into the bamboo and still deep coy ponds was a Zen moment I stopped to appreciate. It had an entry cover charge ($5), but it was worth the expense for the obvious extra effort they made to make this walled secret garden more enjoyable. Snug Harbor is so unique, only 5 Stars can begin to capture its special charm.

The park had a decent crowd but not overcrowded. Also, there was security staff scattered throughout the park. There were vendors selling items. I spoke to a few people and learned they have some excellent food vendors as well as events there. Additionally, the Chinese Scholars Garden was open but they wanted 5$ admission for one adult. It was the end of the day so I decided to skip it. I've been there many times over the years and always found it a relaxing place to visit. There's a gorgeous vine-covered passageway and colorful Monarch butterflies to be discovered along the way. Highly recommend.
