After a car accident in 1990, I had pain in my jaw that would present with horrific headaches, grinding and clenching. For more than two decades, I had seen several specialists, maxillo-facial surgeons, TMJ ,neck and back physical therapists, acupuncturist, chiropractors, and was prescribed oral appliances, drugs and pain relievers. No one looked for what was causing my pain. I had facial spasms, pain through my head, neck and back and would wake feeling as though I had been run over and in a tremendous deal of pain. Just a few years ago, my clenching caused one of my molars to crack and I needed my first (and thank goodness only) root canal. Dr. Barrera was intrigued by my case, performed a second opinion and quickly saw some of my problems. I had high fillings and an improper bite otherwise known as Occlusal Disease. She adjusted my oral appliance (orthotic) and more than two decades of near agony quickly diminished in less than one month! If you've only gotten temporary relief from TMJ pain, consider seeking Dr. Barrera's care, she could just find your ANSWER just like she did me. The dentist was thorough and explained that she was grinding her teeth and had multiple cracks in her teeth and needed a mouth gaurd. They were able to get it covered by her insurance and saved her 500! The doctor is no nonsense but pleasant. My cleanings are adequate and they are able to remove my stains. Overall I'm very satisfied. My daughter who isn't even a patient had a dental emergency and they squeezed her in for the same day!!! Excellent office staff. Very compassionate.

So therefore I scheduled an appointment first off let me say I've never been to a dentist office where they have more than 1 doctor. Staff pretty much sucked no personality barley like to talk besides a few. I paid oop due to the fact my insurance didn't cover.. if we fast forward to the time I had the root canal in about April I went back a month later because I was still having pain, come to find out the lady that treated me no longer worked there ... hmm that's weird.. so the next person gave me antibiotics because he said it could be infected... went back a week later and still in pain they didn't take any new X-rays or re check the root canal he basically told me to go to a oral surgeon and get an Apicoectomy there might be something " they can't see " never provided me with 1 I was stuck finding one myself and come to find out they had a oral surgeon that worked at that office. Never called me once again to ask how I was doing or again checked the tooth again.... From that month until about September I've been suffering with pain from their poorly root canal job which they left a nerve still alive and they would've known if they would've re opened the tooth..
