We ended up selling that house without new fencing, but our new house needed a fence ASAP, so I contacted Chris even before the closing. He worked around several obstacles (weather, trees, HUGE rocks, a shed delivery, an uncompleted paving project) but planned it all out and everything went perfectly. The fencing itself is great quality and the crew he brought in was amazing. We took all his suggestions and we're glad we did. (Boy, was he dead-on regarding gates, etc.!) The pricing and labor contract was clearly spelled out and there were no "surprises." And EVERYONE who comes to the house comments on my great fence ! When you have a wood fence in CT you're bound to have to repair it nearly annually, due to rotting posts, rotting panels, etc. I've been hiring the same fence company for installations and repairs as needed but this year I wanted to upgrade to vinyl. The previous fence company I'd been using just flat out didn't reply to my request for a quote. Their loss, big time. Several years ago I did get a vinyl fence quote from that company and it was considerably more than what I paid Hartford Fence to do, in 2025. Also the more expensive quote was for a white vinyl fence, which I do not like. So, that left me to reach out for other estimates and Hartford Fence came flying in with a swift estimate, excellent color options and once we made our decision and put down a deposit, they installed the thing within 9 days. He came out the next day and assured me he could take care of the replacement, quoted me a very reasonable price and said the new guardrails would be ready in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. One week later, a truck pulled up outside and within about an hour the old railings were gone and the new railings were installed! I can't say enough about the outstanding level of service I received from Jose and his crew. I plan to install a fence in the backyard for our dogs and I wouldn't think of calling anyone else but Starline Fence & Guardrail to do the work.

We are located in an area that can use either central MA/CT or Metrowest invisible fence. We've…read moreused invisible fence for years with our two dogs. I called recently because the landscaper cut the line and we needed someone to come and fix it. I was encouraged to buy a yearly service plane with the central MA/CT invisible fence. They booked an appointment 2 weeks out. The window was 1-6pm. I needed to be in and out of the house that day for my children. No one called or if they did, it was from an unknown number and no one left message, at any time. Apparently someone showed up and left. I tried to call back several times and was on hold for over 10-15 minutes each time. I then called and quickly reached the Metrowest branch and they informed me that service plans are not transferable between locations (I was never told this). I then called back the other branch and finally reached someone, who in essence blamed me and had no solution. Her next available appointment was an entire month away! I cannot transfer the service or I can cancel, but eat $190! I am stuck with them for a year until this runs out or I'm out a lot of money and have to buy a new plan with Metrowest. DO NOT use this company if you have an option for something else. They should not take yearly service fees knowing they have a month waitlist!! They appear to just want you money and don't really care. If you are in the areas of both, as we are, go with Metrowest- they are wonderful!! I should have used them first and I will do so when this service plan runs out.

He…read moreresponded to our inquiry quickly, got back to me right away when I had questions, and was able to complete the job more quickly than we expected. We had them replace the ripped porch screens, power wash railings, roof, and the entire exterior of the house, as well as clean the gutters. They also replaced our old lousy gutter guards. Rudy did several walk arounds with me during the project to show me the progress and point out areas of concern, such as places where there were gaps in the existing deck trim that had caused water damage under the fascia. They were able to replace all of the rotting boards and added new trim to cover the gaps, which we hadn't planned on, but it made the deck much more sound and looks great, even better than before! He also pointed out that a number of our other old window screens around the house were frayed or torn, and offered to replace them while they were there, at a very fair price. The entire deck/porch looks new again. His team took care to carefully clean up the work site before they left. This is a family business, and they were consistently kind and very responsive. We will definitely use them again for future projects.
