I had that quote beefier the end of the business day emailed to me! I called him on Wednesday evening to accept the quote and schedule for a couple of weeks out (his first available opening). He called back the next day to let me know that he got the message. He also asked if I wanted to have the work performed the following Wednesday since he had an opening become available but understood if o wished to wait until the original date thy he provided since some heavy furniture needed to move. I told him the sooner the better. His crew was there that Wednesday morning. They covered everything in plastic, went over a few things with me and i asked them to wood fill 2 small splintered areas which they did. By Friday, the 3rd coat of polyurethane was down and they removed all the plastic except on 2 doorways which I asked them to leave up. Minimal dust compared to previous jobs at other places I have owned. Cabinets, countertops and mounted television were all covered. The crew vacuumed several times as well. Floors look very nice. I highly recommend Charter Oak Flooring. I have several people that will be reaching out to him for quotes already after my experience.

Within 15 minutes we knew ACS would be our company of choice. I contacted Adriano later that night that we had selected his company. His team(Kauan, Gustavo and Brian) arrived on Tuesday 8am. They worked the entire day sanding, detailing 4 rooms, all closets and a long hallway. I strongly recommend that homeowners use caution before hiring ACS Wood Floors. Unfortunately, our…read moreexperience resulted in extensive workmanship issues and damage that we are now having to address with other professionals. ACS refinished approximately 2,800 square feet of hardwood flooring in our home, as well as our staircase/railings. Following completion, we documented problems throughout the project, including visible sanding marks and scratches, poorly blended/dark perimeter areas, missed or inadequately finished areas along baseboards and edges, uneven staining/finish, and stain marks/splatter. We also documented stain on surrounding painted surfaces near approximately 40 feet of railing, as well as handprints/smears and extensive construction dust. This is particularly concerning because the owner was involved during the project and inspected the work. After we complained, he returned and walked through the house with us. ACS subsequently acknowledged that corrective work was needed and offered to re-sand the floors, address the staircase/handrails, provide professional cleaning, and arrange duct cleaning. The owner's written response attributed flooring conditions in part to rainy weather/humidity. We disagreed with that explanation because many of the issues we documented--including sanding marks, scratches, missed edges, stain splatter and damage to surrounding surfaces--cannot reasonably be explained by humidity. Rather than continue debating the cause ourselves, we chose to have the work independently evaluated. ACS offered to return and perform corrective work. We declined further work by ACS because, given the extent of the problems with the original job and the fact that the completed work had already been inspected by the owner, we no longer had confidence in allowing the same company to re-sand and refinish our home again. We instead requested a financial resolution so that an independent flooring contractor could perform the necessary corrective work. ACS did not agree to our requested refund. We are now left dealing with the expense and disruption of obtaining an independent flooring assessment and having the work corrected, in addition to addressing cleaning and property impacts associated with the project. I want to be fair about what occurred: ACS did offer to come back and attempt to correct the work. Our dissatisfaction is not because they refused to return. It is because we believe the original workmanship was unacceptable, the corrective work proposed is substantial, and after what occurred we were not comfortable entrusting the same company with another major refinishing of our home. I have extensive photographs documenting the conditions described above, along with the contract and written communications. I wish we had known what our experience would be before hiring this company, which is why I am sharing it for other homeowners considering a large flooring project.
