After years as a consistent, engaged patient, I was abruptly dropped as a client because I missed two appointments, both directly tied to the condition I was being treated for. I've been undergoing evaluation for idiopathic hypersomnia, a neurological sleep disorder that literally causes uncontrollable sleep episodes. Despite being transparent about this with my provider, the office chose to terminate services without a single phone call, check-in, or ounce of empathy. They sent an email, which was likely sent to spam or lost in notifications, and that was the extent of their outreach. Their "reason" was policy. Their approach was robotic. Their communication was cold, dismissive, and devoid of compassion. They knew I was mid-treatment, actively coordinating diagnoses, and dependent on medication management. Instead of showing basic humanity or care, they sent a form letter and refused to reconsider when I explained the situation. I've worked with medical and mental health professionals for years, and this was by far the most dehumanizing experience I've had. It's not just about missed appointments, it's about how a supposed mental health practice responded to a vulnerable patient asking for understanding. Policies are supposed to protect patients and providers alike. Here, they're used as a shield to avoid responsibility or empathy. The irony of a clinic called "May You Find Peace" treating patients this way speaks for itself. If you value compassion, continuity of care, and basic human decency, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

The intake counselor was extremely calm and nice, and the assigned counselor I am seeing now is fantastic! He really makes me feel better about everything that bothers me! Plus I have not had to wait longer than 5 minutes on any occasion... and if you get there early they commonly take you in early instead of making you wait. They don't seem to overbook so there is usually no lines or anything. One of my favorite aspects is none of the counselors try to shove meds down your throat.... they consider meds a "last resort" reserved for people with serious issues. They want YOU to work on YOU before even considering using meds to solve the underlying issues. Which is great because I am pretty paranoid about meds! PS - I am pretty sure this is a secondary base, I think the primary "headquarters" is on Thomaston Ave.
